Not a happy customer! I received a sale ad through the mail and took it with me. It was a twelve hour sale I had seen some tops in. This store was so busy and no one to assist. I found the top as it was in the advertisement. At the register I was told not all would be at the 50% off. Review my pictures of ad and top bought. I shouldn't have paid for it but needed it to complete an outfit. So frustrated with management there. It was the same too in the picture shown in the advertisement. Total FAIL! Cutting up my card! I have shopped at Stein Mart for years. My last visit while checking out, the cashier was adamant on selling me to open Stein Mart credit card. I work hard on keeping my credit score high. Always turning down retail stores offers a big discounts if I open a card. This particular cashier was relentless and assured me it was an in-house card and would not go against my credit score in anyway and there was no interest. After asking her twice to see if I was understanding her correctly, she reassured me "no, this does not go against your credit score and there is no interest" Going against my better judgment I made my purchase open the card and paid it off at the register that day. After receiving my information at Stein Mart credit card.com not only is there a ridiculously high interest rate but my credit score has been docked as opening a new account. Furious. I have always loved Stein Mart for the great deals, and I was excited to go to Pensacola to take advantage of the $10 off $30 coupon advertised online. They closed our store in Daphne. The lines were long and I was trying to get the coupon pulled up online which I have done numerous times, but it is taking awhile to download it in the store. I finally get to the front of the line and tell the cashier I want to use the $10 coupon. She tells me I can't use the one online it has to be sent to me through e-mail, and I must not be on their e-mailing list. I try to explain to her that their site says it can be used online or in store. She continues to argue so I tell her fine I will speak to the manage since people are waiting. I tell the manager the story and she misunderstand me somehow and starts backing the cashier as the cashier hollers at me from the register that she did not tell me that. She starts arguing with me again in front of her store manager and she was visibly angry. I had to wait in line again to get the $10 taken off. Don't know if I will shop in the store again with the rude cashier and a manager who stands behind bad behavior. read more
