There's five locations around Houston and it's similar to Burlington or TJ Maxx (except much smaller). It's can be hit or miss, but I have been able to find some nice outfits at Backstage. The outlet is small, but they do have men, women, and children's clothing, home goods and decor, skincare products, and accessories like purses and jewelry. I've only ever purchased clothing, but the prices are very reasonable. They have registers in the Backstage area, however you do not have to check out there if you are wanting to shop in other departments.

Much of the clothing had zero personality as if they were shooting for the lowest common denominator...kind of like what you would have seen at The Limited, but even The Limited was a bit more stylish. I did find a cool dress here; hence, 2 stars instead of 1, but I would most likely not return here. I didn't like how the store was organized, and thought the sizing was off. And as an accessories person, I wasn't inspired by what I saw here. The selection is vast, the store is huge but the quality seems low.. like the items will only last a few washings or something. My particular issue with this store happened today when I came in for a JanSport backpack. I saw it online on sale for $53.60 from $67. There was 1 left in stock. Since I was out and about, I stopped in and found it. Because they TOOK AWAY ALL THE CUSTOMER PRICE SCANNERS, I asked a worker to verify the sale price with her price scanner. It came up $67. I pulled up the online page to show her it was on sale and she says "Oh, that price is ONLY if you order online for pick up." So I go to the online pick up desk and ask the lady if they would price match it and allow me to buy it right then, NOPE. Store policy: they WON'T price match in-store their own online price. Then I asked if I purchased it for online pickup right then and it's already AT the pick-up desk, if I could then pick it up... (hey, less work for a worker since I already FOUND the product.) NOPE. It would have to go through some mystical process that could take awhile. Frustrated, I quickly looked at Target (same plaza) online and saw they had the same backpack available for $53 and I could get it right then and there so I told her I would go there instead. IS IT JUST ME OR IS LOWER ONLINE PRICING SEEM BACKWARDS?!? Like, buying stuff online results in workers having to go find items for you. Then, you're only buying those items VERSUS going into a store for the item and then seeing other items you want and buying MORE and spending MORE as a result. So sad I "gave up" $10 in Kohl's cash by buying my item at Target... wouldn't want to spend even more money in this place anyways. So this situation solidified my hatred of Kohl's even more. I honestly don't see myself stepping foot in one ever again. I'll spend our hard earned money anyplace else.

I stopped going there for a long time.But decided to give him another chance , and I am so glad that I did. Tonight I had an amazing experience with brianna. She greeted me as soon as I came in.And she was so friendly and helpful, and\nWas very caring when I told her about my dad who's sick with cancer. She and one other girl went through my clothes very fast and efficiently while still taking care of everything that needed to be done in the store and had an offer for me within minutes that I was satisfied with. I'm not sure if brianna is a manager , but she definitely needs to be. She is very professional, sweet. And I look forward to visiting her again, and I'm also very grateful that she was able to fix the way I felt about that location, because I really do like the things that they have in that store. I finally made the time to drop off a few of my X's gifts that I wanted out of my house. A name brand purse was involved. Besides some name brand perfume and a dress from Shein, the experiment was small. I was expecting at least $50 for the haul, but haha - $18 was my takeaway. I at least have to applaud them processing the haul prior to the estimated time. I was in the parking lot managing my next stop when I received a text that my offer was ready. I was told the offer is computerized and not left up to the store members. I really didn't care - it was a gift that I didn't want in my house anymore, so the $18 was more than I was getting with it collecting dust. You may say just donate it, but clothing accessory donations have not yielded me any tax breaks over the years, so I gladly took my 18 bucks and will buy groceries for the church food bank. Additionally, the Shein dress (that by the way had never been worn and had the tags on it) as well as barely used perfume was not accepted items. They offered to donate the dress to Goodwill, and I gave the perfume to the young lady who was working the hauls. Again, I didn't want the items in my house anymore, so my goal was accomplished. Now, if it had been my own stuff I paid money for, I probably would have taken those items back and found someone to buy them or put them under consignment. However, since it was no cost to me, the experiment was just okay for me. I know they'll make way more than $18 off that name brand purse, but that's the trade-off for same day cash back for selling items. Overall, I'm sure this is a great resource for people who need cash right away, but I'm never in that kind of bind to just give my stuff away, which you are almost doing at Plato's. As far as the selection of clothes to buy, I didn't check. It was way too crowded for my taste with bunches of racks. Since I'm not a shopper most days, I wasn't moved to look either. Maybe one day soon, I'll choose to do so and give an overall review of this place, but for now, you have insight on being a seller at Plato's in case you're interested.

I came back the next day to try it on and it was PERFECT! As an added bonus, EVERYTHING in the store was like $25 and under! (The dress was originally $55!!!) I saved $30!!! The workers here were WONDERFUL. After selecting the dress in my size, one of the girls started a fitting room for me. I found a few other pieces to try on but decided on just the dress. Francesca's is all fancy with the bagging too. They wrap your item in tissue paper which makes the purchase feel extra special. The selection here is small but I would assume it changes frequently.
