I pulled up the online page to show her it was on sale and she says "Oh, that price is ONLY if you order online for pick up." Then I asked if I purchased it for online pickup right then and it's already AT the pick-up desk, if I could then pick it up... (hey, less work for a worker since I already FOUND the product.) NOPE. It would have to go through some mystical process that could take awhile. Frustrated, I quickly looked at Target (same plaza) online and saw they had the same backpack available for $53 and I could get it right then and there so I told her I would go there instead. IS IT JUST ME OR IS LOWER ONLINE PRICING SEEM BACKWARDS?!? Like, buying stuff online results in workers having to go find items for you. Then, you're only buying those items VERSUS going into a store for the item and then seeing other items you want and buying MORE and spending MORE as a result. So sad I "gave up" $10 in Kohl's cash by buying my item at Target... wouldn't want to spend even more money in this place anyways. So this situation solidified my hatred of Kohl's even more. I stopped going there for a long time.But decided to give him another chance , and I am so glad that I did. Tonight I had an amazing experience with brianna. She greeted me as soon as I came in.And she was so friendly and helpful, and\nWas very caring when I told her about my dad who's sick with cancer. She and one other girl went through my clothes very fast and efficiently while still taking care of everything that needed to be done in the store and had an offer for me within minutes that I was satisfied with. I'm not sure if brianna is a manager , but she definitely needs to be. She is very professional, sweet. And I look forward to visiting her again, and I'm also very grateful that she was able to fix the way I felt about that location, because I really do like the things that they have in that store. I finally made the time to drop off a few of my X's gifts that I wanted out of my house. A name brand purse was involved. Besides some name brand perfume and a dress from Shein, the experiment was small. I was expecting at least $50 for the haul, but haha - $18 was my takeaway. I at least have to applaud them processing the haul prior to the estimated time. I was in the parking lot managing my next stop when I received a text that my offer was ready. I was told the offer is computerized and not left up to the store members. I really didn't care - it was a gift that I didn't want in my house anymore, so the $18 was more than I was getting with it collecting dust. You may say just donate it, but clothing accessory donations have not yielded me any tax breaks over the years, so I gladly took my 18 bucks and will buy groceries for the church food bank. Additionally, the Shein dress (that by the way had never been worn and had the tags on it) as well as barely used perfume was not accepted items. They offered to donate the dress to Goodwill, and I gave the perfume to the young lady who was working the hauls. Again, I didn't want the items in my house anymore, so my goal was accomplished. Now, if it had been my own stuff I paid money for, I probably would have taken those items back and found someone to buy them or put them under consignment. However, since it was no cost to me, the experiment was just okay for me. I know they'll make way more than $18 off that name brand purse, but that's the trade-off for same day cash back for selling items. Overall, I'm sure this is a great resource for people who need cash right away, but I'm never in that kind of bind to just give my stuff away, which you are almost doing at Plato's. As far as the selection of clothes to buy, I didn't check. It was way too crowded for my taste with bunches of racks. Since I'm not a shopper most days, I wasn't moved to look either. I've been wanting to get back into walking for exercise and knew I needed something FAR more supportive than my adored Skechers Step-Ins. After some consultation with ChatGPT about what my current physical issues are and a brick and mortar store I could shop at, I was given a list of specific brands and styles: Brooks Ariel GTS, Hoka Gaviota, and ASICS Gel-Kayano. The icing on the cake was being referred to Wild Pear Running, where each of the models were in stock. Almost from the second I stepped in the door, I felt like family. I was greeted by Renee and after a quick size check, she brought out an enormous stack of boxes of shoes to test-drive. She checked the fit, how my toe felt in the toe box, and had me walk around a bit to see how they moved. After a brief size correction, we had it narrowed down to two models. One was a Brooks model, and the other was the Hoka Gaviota 6. I'd already decided that price would not be a factor, as I was more than willing to pay more for the best quality shoe I could get. At this point, her mini-me/daughter (please forgive me but I've forgotten her name) had joined us and we discussed adding Lock Laces so they would be easier to get on and off without having to lace up every time. She helped me pick out the best colour once I'd decided upon the Hoka model and put in the Lock Laces for me. I've done a fair amount of walking since last Saturday (including 45 minutes of physical therapy during my usual weekly visit). I can't even describe how amazing these shoes feel and how much my feet and ankles DON'T hurt after walking around for a while. Before physical therapy, I couldn't be on my feet for more than about 15 minutes without my lower back, ankles, and feet starting to hurt. Not anymore. I never thought I'd be able to say that a shoe was a life-changer but that's really what this whole experience has been. I highly recommend Wild Pear Running, no matter WHAT your goal is.
