Completely disappointed at the lack of customer service at Dillard's. Took my mother in law shopping for a dress needed for a special event. Tried asking for assistance locating her size. I was told by the sales person that I can go online to the store website to look for a size myself. Super unhelpful and rude. Needless to say the experience made us search other stores. Immediately went to Macy's and found a beautiful dress. Once again my mother in law needed a specific size. Macy's went over and above to locate the dress in the size needed at another location. Maybe Dillard's needs to train their staff in the customer service techniques of Macy's. Customer service goes a long way and this store has lost our business for sure. I bought a Michael Kors Animal Leopard print purse back at the end of December. It seemed like a great buy because it was about $200.00 with tax compared to the original price of $500.00. However, now I know why they put it on sale, the bag has a big patch of wear after only carrying it around about 3 months. It looks like an old worn out animal with missing fur. Really disappointed. The inside of the bag also has a spot for a cell phone which is not made quite big enough and you have to jam it in there. The bag which was originally $500.00 only lasted three months. Shame on Michael Kors poor workmanship and Dillards for selling it. read more

My husband and I went in and bought a couple dress coats and pants in the Men's department. The gentlemen were helpful in getting my husband measured so the pants can be hemmed. However, there was an issue when coming to retrieve the pants. They could not be found when we came to get them. It seems that the pants were misplaced somehow so we had to get new pants and get them hemmed, again. We got a call from Tanya F 2 months later. She asked if we were missing pants. She found them! We are grateful to her for making an effort in finding pants that we had left with Dillard to be altered. I know, not the best scenario. This company is an absolute joke. I bought this bag a couple weeks ago and when I opened it, I noticed it was missing a rivet. When I contacted them about this issue they said they could offer me a 5% discount (which is only about $30). The replacement strap cost $160. Why should I have to pay more money to fix an issue that was not my fault. And why even sell a defective product in the first place. This is an absolute joke of a response and horrible customer service. This company should be ashamed of how they handled this type of issue. read more

It is encased in a small corner before you go to the Men's section. They are pre - loved. Scan the code to learn more about them. The label says "what goes around comes around". The prices are a little bit lower from new ones. They didn't have the brand that I was looking for. But gave me a reason to come here often to check out what they have. read more

I love Dillards! This store isn't the best location but has Dillard's Exclusive and their signature sales. I find that Dillard's has the best quality and value than its competitors. I like the tailored cut and sophisticated style of Antonio Melani. I always get the most stylish shoes at a reasonable price. I'd rather shop at Dillard's than other stores. I have received both exceptional and mediocre customer service. Some employees disregard customers while standing around having lengthy personal conversations. This Dillards seems to be a subpar store. The merchandise isn't as good as prime locations. I wish there were more stores in California; I usually have to travel to Palmdale several times a year. I respect and appreciate Dillard's return policies. I like fair and reasonable businesses. If a customer purchases an item from a store, I think 30 days is generous. Stores have to keep moving inventory. Fashion changes quickly and collections need to rotate out. I don't want to buy anything that has been in another person's home for more than 14 days...If I was a spoiled and entitled customer, I would use logic that helps me get what I want. read more

Super great vibes, every Friday they have a Dj playing live music that just makes you want to shop and dance! The girls were all dressed in a cowboy theme tonight and looked adorable. My wife and I shop here often. The staff are exemplary! We are greeted by most of the staff as we walk through the store and every one of them is well dressed, extremely courteous and friendly. I am not sure if the young man who works security is employed by Dillards or an outside agency but he is a credit to the store. Always greets us, opens the door for us if he is nearby, is also very friendly and courteous and asks us how we are doing and always wishes us a good day as we leave. If the general manager of Dillards reads these reviews, you have an amazing staff in every department and they all deserve a compliment and a raise! read more

Today I went in to the store to exchange some infant Uggs I bought for my son. The seams were coming off in less than 15 days after purchase, so I went into the store and they said they couldn't do anything about it because they were used. Of course my baby used them, shoes are meant to be worn. Cashier, a manager and who I believe it's the assistant manager are rude, and unprofessional an experience I wouldn't expected from Dillard's. The assistant manager said to me that after I called corporate the complaint would go back to him anyway, right after getting offended for me telling him to do his job. That's saids it all. If we pay Dillard's prices I expect for at least managers to do a decent job and for cashiers to not give me an attitude, is not the same energy I received when I'm in store buying. I have never written a complaint about a store before but I feel the need to write one about my experience. The people working the costumer service desk are absolutely disrespectful and agressive. I ordered two dresses for my daughter's Homecoming dance. When I went to return them, the ladies at the desk were extremely rude. They gave me attitude and repeatedly said "You canceled the order". And when I pulled up the order on my phone the rolled her eyes and raised her voice repeating herself once again. My daughter and I were annoyed and bothered by our experience here as it was our first time ordering from this location and it most definitely will be our last. I had a great experience today on my first trip to Palmdale Dillard's. I needed some bedding things and they had a good selection of high quality items. It was relaxing and not hectic to shop there. The customer services was attentive and helpful. Their inventory is heaving on clothing, bedding and make up but had very little cookware but they did have a good selection of serveware. There is probably a strategy reason for this. I will definitely be back as I noticed they had a selection of really high quality pillows. I probably only saw half the store so I need to go back to visit again soon. I had to unfortunately return the mattress pad I got but kept the wonderful two inch mattress topper. The mattress pad had zipper with an underlying skirt and it was impossible to get it on my bed by myself but Dillards cheerfully took it back. Im so, so sad. I've been a resident in the Antelope Valley for 30 years. I watched Dillard's signs go up on the building. When the doors opened at Dillard's we all knew this was the store you went to when you wanted upscale merchandise and an upscale, high-end customer service experience. And that is what we got. It was SO special that you didn't even set foot in Dillard's unless you were ready to spend good money. Something about being in there made you walk and behave differently, and it was a special occasion type of shopping experience. Then somewhere along the line came the record scratch. Riiiiiip! The merchandise is still quality. It is the customer service that leaves one to believe that, like the rest of our society, the ambience of class and refinement got sucked into the vacuum that was left by the Pandemic. And there is no place worse in Dillard's than the salespeople at the counters. I mean, almost everyone on the sales force leaves an immense amount to be desired, but the beauty and cologne counters are on a whole other level. I went to get cologne for my husband for Valentine's Day and I just wanted to enjoy browsing and finding something I wanted when I was literally accosted by a salesperson who immediately tried to push me into buying the first thing I sampled! And then here comes another one who hijacked the first salesperson and kept pushing me to try one scent after the other. I didn't even get a chance to clear my olfactory channels before she was spraying another card. They were SO freakin desperate for a sale that I felt compelled to either walk away or buy under pressure. I bought under pressure. I paid 130.00 to be harassed. For real. I didn't like that. AT ALL. But why did I end up buying there still? Because it is the only store aside from Macy's that carries high end cologne. We only have two other anchor stores. And it seems they are all sliding in terms of the shopping experience. I can't even be mad at the teams on the floor because what it really boils down to is leadership and management. According to Robert Greenleaf, a true leader knows the way and SHOWS the way. If the top has no vision of what the bottom should look like, then there are low expectations. And based on other reviews I have read from over the past few years, this has been an ongoing issue, yet you refuse to fix it!! Y'all need to have a meeting to talk about a few things. Seriously. Get it together. I do not want to have to drive down to Valencia or Topanga, or even DelAmo, but if this is how we are representing here in our community, I will gladly spend on gas and shop elsewhere. Save yourself the headache, go to Macy's. They can literally sell you a shirt with a hole in it and then not take it back. I went in to buy a Polo, they were out of stock so the rep told me to order it online and if there's any issues bring it back. I ordered and received the polo. I took the tags off put it on and when I got to work I noticed a hole in it. It was a run in the material. I bought two, one green and one blue. Well when I went in To exchange it I had the tag for the green one, which shouldn't really matter since I showed her the receipt. She treated me like I was a con artist and refused to exchange it. Upstairs is better though...never had any issues with poor service. Downstairs the clerks tend to treat SOME customers as if they aren't important making them wait for service while others seem to engender a "snap to it" reaction. Typical nonsense as if their money is worth more. I've cooled on this place and will no longer purchase anything here. The best way to address UNEVEN service is to stop spending your money there. I'm done with Dillard's. The people that work here refuse to provide customer service. I placed an online order for sandals by Michael Kors. Unfortunately the size ran small and I had to go to the store to exchange for a larger size. As you can see from the pictures there's an original price $89.00 and the sale price (25 % off) $66.75. To my surprise the sale price was not being honored for the exchange I was told that I had to pay the full price of $89.00. After dealing with the cashier I had to speak with a manager then she had to call upstairs to speak to another person to override the price. But that did not happen, the person upstairs said that the original price was $130.00 (this price was no where online or anywhere) minus the sale price (25% off) which would be $130.. minus 25% $32.50 = $97.50. So why was I being being charged $89.00 ? Makes no sense and they refuse to correct it. Macy's 100% and they have better customer service and sales ! read more

Dillard's has the most inflexible return policy I have ever encountered. I bought a cologne from them and had it shipped. The cologne runs out after a small amount of time, plus it doesn't smell good on my skin. I just received it and asked to return it and they flat out said no. Now, I know that stores get credit for items returned when they file taxes and I'm wondering why they're not extending this courtesy to their customer. What ever happened to the customer's point of view specially now a days with everyone struggling with money. Surprisingly rude customer service. I asked if the store had a price adjustment policy. Item I bought went on sale five days later. They don't. But the service rep made a point of making me feel like I was asking an offensive question. I was told no other department stores have ever had such a policy. This place has gone down the toilet. I remember when it first opened, I was all, YAY L.A. SHOPPING but now this place just sucks. They have the attitude and pricing of Macy's but the staff, management and product of a .99 Cent Store. I was soooo happy about that purse. It made me so happy...until I noticed that when I hold the bag by the handles, the outer pocket puckers and shows the lining. Also, I noticed that there are rings for a strap attachment, which I didn't get. My husband returned to Dillards to get my strap and he was told that the rings were just for decoration. Um, ok. Then, when he complained about the pucker (he's such a good husband) and the salesperson was aware of the complaint and offered to accept the purse for another. WHHHHHYYYY would a store sell an item that they KNOW is inferior? This bag was $180! My $30 purses don't pucker. WTF?! I'm so angry. Breathing... I have shopped at Dillards since it opened. I go twice a year for bra fittings. The last time I went, the woman sized me and went about her business while I'm waltzing around the lingerie dept looking for my size bra on the racks with "the girls" hanging somewhere around my belly button. I have never been treated like that before. They have always been so helpful and usually bring a ton of bras for you to try and then check on you every 10 minutes. They've changed so much. And, if they are in trouble financially as the other poster mentioned, I can give them several reasons why! At this point, I only shop at Dillard's for cosmetics. The employees constantly harass you by offering help every couple minutes.....then another employee harasses you by offering help and the one who offered help first gets mad at the other employee. Very fake-nice employees who are clearly on a quota system (most likely a very unrealistic and high sales quota system). I wanted to shop for my Polo apparel in peace, but kept getting recommendations on what shirt I should wear with my swimming trunks and "look at this one. It has long sleeves. You can roll them up when you go to the beach. It looks great". And if that wasn't bad enough, the lady takes my clothes I was going to buy and puts them at her register so I HAVE to check out with her (stealing the first guys commission). During checkout, "are you sure you don't want that nice shirt to wear with that. I'll bring it over". My goodness! Worse than going to a car dealership/time share presentation! Go to Macy's instead--I have NO intention on ever going back after that heinous experience! If you want to have fun, take a long time with the employees and say, "Oh I'm going to shop more I'll check out somewhere else. Thanks so much!" Oh, the store is very clean and nicely designed. The selection is really bad for mens clothes, however. The best they have for apparel is Polo by Ralph Lauren, and the Cole Haan shoes is limited to about 4 pairs of the ugly ones. If you want nice stuff, you'll have to drive to Valencia. I honestly feel bad for the employees. Bad selection and high sales expectations? Come on now! read more
