When I walked by, the small indoor seating area was packed, so I took that as a good sign. We had reservations elsewhere but the menu was more varied at DIgs, so I cancelled the other place. Service was lousy. Took ten minutes for the drink order, and another five to deliver 2 bottled beers. We saw our server was working two other table, so we planned to order all at once - apps and mains. I had questions, but the server was already confused based on an earlier question, so I went with our second choices. Buffalo chicken eggs rolls were tasty - but mostly filler, not chicken. Our order came out after the table of 7, which arrived after our drinks (15 mins) had their drinks and their chicken egg rolls. I suspect their faster server grabbed our order. I had an underwhelming burger - no way it started at 1/2 lb as advertised - and too thin for it to be anything but well done, despite the question about how I wanted it done when I ordered. Wife had mac and cheese - really excited when the HUGE bowl arrived. What little white cheddar sauce was on it was thin and mostly water. We almost sent it back for lack of sauce before she dug around. The added buffalo chicken as a large, tasteless and sauceless thin chicken fillet. With more than 75% left in the bowl, we didn't take the leftovers - and rookie server mistake - he didn't even ask why she ate so little and wanted none to leave with us. So many nice restaurants and other options within a block or two, that not visiting Digs ever again won't be an issue. Skip this place - too many other great choices with far better service and far better food. read more

It took about 45 minutes to get a salad and Mac and cheese (powdered cheese ) and a small thin pizza with what tasted like ketchup for "pizza sauce " . So we did not complain about the wait. First of all, no a/c. Decor looks like they started off with a professional interior designer but then fired her after decorating the shell then went out and bought some shitty tables and chairs. Now, there's good too. The food was good. Good pub food. Not plated like the pictures taken on here, but good. Burger was damn good. Wife had fish n chips. She liked it. Fries & tots were ok but nothing great. Fresh cut fries would go a long way. No free cornbread with anything... bummer. Waitress was genuinely the best. She really tried to make us as satisfied as possible. Wish I remembered her name. Young brunette girl with tattoos. This place has potential. But lacks follow through. I usually give restaurants the benefit of the doubt but I felt this review was warranted. I showed up at 1130 with my 2 year old son for a quick lunch. At the time, there was one table occupied. I quickly ordered my son chicken tenders and fries. They came out rather quickly. He seemed to enjoy them and the fries weren't bad. I ordered my panini shortly afterward. Because I was paying attention to my son I didn't realize that the panini I ordered could be a part of their lunch special. I asked if I could do that and they said it was too late. I didn't mind because I assumed my food was coming right up. After 20 minutes I asked if my food was coming and the waitress said sorry but no. 10 more minutes and I became very irritated. I had a 2 year old with me and my son was done eating 15 minutes prior. When I got my food the panini looked like it was rushed. The cheese wasn't melted and the chicken was dry. Furthermore I asked for my bill and was given the wrong one. Finally got my bill after spending almost an hour there. Will never go back and sad because it's a newer place in my town. read more

It has been a long while since we've been here probably pre-Covid to be completely honest. We had great memories this place I had left a five star review because we had phenomenal service and amazing soon. Unfortunately that was not the case for today Friday, June 11. Again I want with my wife and my son and this time I had an Angus burger and my wife had to fish and chips and my son had the beer cheese mac & cheese. One of the biggest drawers to this place was the free cornbread that you got whenever you order anything off the menu we didn't see cornbread on the menu and we asked for it and then I asked the waitress if it was still complementary and she said no. I did ask her if Jennifer was available, Jennifer is the owner of digs. The waitress said yes she was there, and there was anything she could help me with and then questioned her about the complementary cornbread and asked if that policy was discontinued she said it was. So we ordered it anyway because I remember it being Really good. When the cornbread arrived it wasn't in a cast-iron pan like before but on a plate already cut up in four slices. There was melted butter on top not on the side and we each took a slice I thought to myself will be battling who gets the other piece but sadly they did not happen because it was hard and crunchy and dense. needless to say after one bite, put it back on the plate. The fish was good, the tartar sauce was great, we decided to upgrade fries to onion rings and ask for a side of ranch. Yeah the rings were OK, they looked really good but they were very greasy. It took three attempts to ask the waitress, the last being me walking up to the counter asking for the ranch. The beer mac & cheese my son really didn't care for it had a spice to it and flakes of peppers and possibly pimento, it did not say anything like that on the menu. If something is going to be spicy it should definitely say that on the menu. He also had a sierra mist and after 40 minutes it was never refilled after he drank it within five minutes, it only got refilled again one time one time before we were leaving because we asked for it, but his mouth was heart due to the spiciness of the macaroni and cheese. My burger was cooked just as best I asked for no salt and I was accommodated., My burger was just fine. Our waitress however was not very good, she never came back to the table to ask us how we were doing and how the food was, that is reasonable and customary at any place, but not here apparently. She needs some training. There was only two other tables occupied during our entire visit. Although my burger was delicious and the fish was good, due to the service we I will more than likely not be returning. Another yelp or commented that the tables were cheap and not very well-made, I would have to agree. read more

This restaurant Was a HUGE disappointment! We have so few restaurants nearby. When you are looking forward to a night out and the food and service were sub par it's very disheartening. It took awhile for one of 3 servers to come to the table AND there were only 3 tables. Our server was a very young woman who had not been adequately trained. She couldn't answer any of my questions and when she went to get the answers, she came back and couldn't recall what she had been told. In addition I specifically requested gluten free short ribs, they came to the table saturated in gravy. Rather than wait yet again I opted to scrape the gravy off and really paid for it the next day. The short rib was good, but not fantastic. My husband had the shepherd's pie. The presentation was awful as well as the taste. It looked like dog food dumped into a bowl. The cornbread while brought to the table slightly warm was tasteless and hard according to my husband. Not appealing. We opted to try the gelato it was good but when I am paying for dinner out I don't want a paper cup and a mini plastic spade to eat with. Needless to say we will not come back. The owner was seated with friends or family and should be monitoring her staff a lot closer, not to mention providing adequate training. Simply awful. First time and last time we will go. We sat outside. Ordered a glass of wine. Since we were outside, we expected plastic glasses. The glass of wine, served in a small cup, was at best 3 ounces. $8. We just went for drinks and appetizers and ordered wings and onion rings. Both were stone cold and inedible. Heard a lot of good feedback on Digs, but last night was not their night I guess. We were at the Lemont Cruise Night and had a lot of opportunities to eat. We decided to try Digs to take home around 7:00 pm. We ordered the California Chicken Panini, the Quesadillas Cubano and an order of chicken strips. We were told it would be about 30 mins. We came back at 7:30 and were told it would be another 10 mins which was turned out to be 25 mins. The order finally arrived and the cook apologized and said sorry we got slammed. We took the meal home and were so disappointed. The quesadillas were dripping with oil or grease, the panini was terrible and the strips were just ok. The kitchen looked completely overwhelmed which I get on a busy night, but the meals were not good. I will try again on a slower day, but quality is important. For $38 plus tip I was expecting much better. read more

I lost a bit and figured I'd treat myself. I ordered the onion rings with the jackwagon wrap-which may be my new fave. The wrap is done perfectly, the perfect chop of the insides mixed to proper ratio for every bite-not thrown together Willy nilly like most places. Honestly, it matters. The sauce? I kept trying to figure out what it was that made it so wonderful. It really is unique and delish. It's no wonder they get so many repeat customers. You'd be hard-pressed to find a local who doesn't love them some digs on canal. Ok-so back to the rings. The rings are fresh battered and actually have a hearty slice of onion in each one. Wasn't drunk enough to appreciate the food. I got "catfished" by the food descriptions on the menu. Food as listed on menu was not what arrived to table. Mac and cheese wasn't spectacular at all, was fancy noodles with American cheese melted on top. "Make your own" Mac and cheese was a joke, just Mac and cheese with "to go" containers of toppings. I recently visited this location on Saturday night and was very disappointed! They apparently don't want customers and business as we couldn't even get a drink and had been seated at that point for at least 30 minutes! We also hadn't even been acknowledged or given a menu for 20 minutes after being initially seated in their outdoor tent, just horrible customer service! We decided to leave and eat elsewhere and got served right away at a restaurant just down the street! If you're hungry or thirsty I'd recommend going somewhere else as they apparently don't care about their customers!! read more

If you enjoy eating your chili with a fork this is the place for you. Service was so bad that a spoon was not given. The portion given was less then half on previous occasions and the chili was lukewarm not hot. I would have requested a spoon and to reheat the chili but they looked overwhelmed with the previous customers. Sadly this place started off great. This was our third time there. But we won't be going back. In response to Jennifer who had some questions. The server was busy, working a large table and two other tables beside ours, and the register, I do believe the large table as a whole left her a $5.00 tip. She was trying but it seems you were under staffed, and she was not getting assistance, she was alone on the floor and about three people in the kitchen. Finally stopped in during Saturday music and mimosas after our daughters dance class which was right across the street. What a great experience. The acoustic artist had the right vibe for noon and my 3 year old was dancing in her seat. I had the chili, Ruben and fries...all hit the spot. Loved the decor and the check was very reasonable. $5 Bloody Mary, $2 chili, $1.10 milk total bill was $30 for a family of three. Definitely going back. read more

I was a big fan of Sweetwater until the change in ownership. A definite drop in quality. My wife and I tried Digs last Friday evening. She ordered the BLT and I had the Italian sub. I'm happy to report the location has returned to five stars. Although we had coffee(which our waitress brewed fresh for us) there is a full service bar. With their new extended hours, Digs is a nice addition for a casual meal. read more

My grumpy husband loves this place! Great little restaurant. Besides being adorable, with modern decor, the prices were great. The bar is small - only 4 seats, but not crowded and the bar tender was really nice and helpful. We went to their outside igloo to give outside dining a try. It was below 20 degrees outside but once we were in the igloo it was okay. Not saying inside dining isn't better but this was good for the times. There is space for at least 6 and the small heater got us warm enough. The service was good and always felt safe. The food may be typical pub food but it's so nice to get out to eat I think it was worth the trip. read more

What a disappointing experience. I walked in during the car show on Wednesday to grab a bit to eat and a couple drinks. I asked for a table for 1 and was told they were providing full service to customers at this time. That I could order my food wait for it and find a spot. While I ordered my food a table of 6 came in. They were giving a full service experience. After I ordered a table of 2 came in and they got the full service. The waitress gave me my food and when she did I asked why they got full service and I didn't. She flat out told told me they were not getting full service. She may as well have called me a liar. So what does she do. She immediately walks back to the door and seats another table for full service. When I was done I asked a manger why this happened and why the staff was dishonest. He told me he had made a call to stop full service and that it likely ended right after I came in then changed to he just called. He was very argumentative and keep defending the dishonesty. He they kept trying to tell me. You can ask all my staff I make the calls and they will tell me he is an honest. Guy. He then kept telling me how wrong I was for what I say. This on top of mediocre food and poor ventilation (kitchen smoke billowing out from kitchen) this place is a dump and won't be around longer.
