I heard about this store online for a few years. Finally I travelled from brooklyn to check the store out and it was amazing. It's a game store run by intelligent gamers, with heavy emphasis on classic gaming. It even has a mini-museum dedicated to retro games! They run monthly tournaments in which you can have your name on the wall. read more

Trash. Just trash. Overpriced and understaffed. Games are very overpriced, and i also found an Xbox in the trash.

This place is great! I go out of my way to avoid GameStop and Best Buy, because I go here! These folks love all things games and are good to there customers. I refer hardcore gamers to this place all the time because its home to all games and consoles. Its a true jewel of north Jersey. read more

Today I went into Digital Press, at about 7:30pm. I wanted to try and sell some old PS2 games for some gas money. My phone had just died when I got in there so I asked the employees, Alex and Brooke, if they had a charger I could use just for a little bit to get some charge. I needed to be somewhere and I had to call someone but my phone was completely dead and my charger was broken. Alex looked at the charger and tried to see if he could get it to work. Brooke got the brilliant idea to use a PS4 controller charger to see if it could charge my phone. It worked! But I had this crappy portable battery charger that wasn't working very well with me and I was struggling with it. Alex and Brooke noticed, and I asked if they had a power block for the wall, but they let me charge it in their USB behind the counter. They let me charge my phone there for a little while, as I tried to trade in my games. I didn't get much at all, but they were old ass PS2 games anyway that were scratched up. Brooke was sweet enough to give me money for some of them... I know that they probably didn't want them but bought them anyway. I asked her if there was anywhere else I could sell them to get more money, and she said they would have not be not scratched for me to get anything more. She didn't say it in a way that was like, NO YOU SHOULD SELL THEM HERE like *some* video game stores. As we were doing the trade, the three of us were joking around about my charger and how much it sucked and whatnot. Alex and Brooke were really cool employees to talk to. I didn't even feel like I was at a store, I felt like I was hanging out with friends. Not to say they weren't professional- all transactions were on point, I saw Alex helping a customer and he seemed like a really good employee who knew a lot about games. It was clear that Brooke knew her stuff when doing the trades, and her knowledge of games got us to use the PS4 charger. Brooke and Alex were both REALLY good employees, and the fact that they let me charge my phone there was awesome. The icing on the cake of this visit, though, was Brooke. I waited about 5 minutes for a charge, but my phone didn't go on, and I really had to go. So I said it was alright, I had to go, and not to worry about it. As I picked up my phone and the games that didn't sell and got ready to leave, Brooke said, "Wait, do you want a charger? I could give you one for cheap!" I was shocked that she even thought of that, and that they were cheap. She said it would be a used one and ran back and got me it and gave me a great price. I was so happy with how cool they were and how much they helped me out that I told them I would write a yelp review. So Alex and/or Brooke, if you are reading this... I told you! If you can comment to something, do it! Say hi! Alex and Brooke were awesome employees. They were fun, knowledgeable, resourceful, and genuine. There aren't many independent video game stores around these days, and I really do miss them. Digital Press makes me feel young again. I used to love going into random video game stores as a kid and looking around. Independent stores don't have that corporate feel like you-know-where. There is a lot of cool stuff to look at in Digital Press and they have a lot of cool, rare memorbiia. I want to get a PS4, but I'm broke. Once I get some cash, I think I'm going to go there to buy games. They have a HUGE selection of games here too, for EVERY system. Its crazy, a real gem, But anyway, Digital Press rules, and Books and Alex are AWESOME employees! Give them a raise!! read more

I am only being so generous with my score because the store has ample parking, is opened 7 days a wk. and is easily accessible and very affordable compared to one particular video game store in the same niche market but the employees don't go out of your way to help you and are impolite. When I go here I always make sure to purchase the cheapest video games and purchase a limited amount since I was told one my ps2s " isn't even worth fixing if it is broken because it is so old." you would think a bunch of bumbling morons working for a retro video game store would appreciate classics. I'd only go here if I had restricted options which I do because admitedly my system is a bit antiquated but it isn't useless and shouldn't be overlooked! Memo to staff: Plenty of people still use their ps2 you miserable losers. read more

Everything you could ever want in the history of gaming might possibly lie here. I was reminiscing on my childhood going through all the PS One games available. The store can be pricey at times but I equate it to the exclusivity or hard to come by items in their selection. Would love to see some newer releases here though. If you're in town, you need to check this place out. read more

Great selection of games. I love the events they host. Great atmosphere and great customer service. Will shop again!

Digital Press is a haven for every gamer, from the classic to the modern. You can buy a game for almost every US released system, as well as the systems themselves. I have traded in quite a few things to the store and I feel that I've gotten excellent value for my trades. I collect for the Atari 2600, and I stopped being able to find games that I didn't already have many years ago. I make it up to Digital Press every few months (it's over 3 hours away, but definitely worth the drive), and I always find 2600 games there that I don't have, and the prices are excellent. The owner, Joe, and his staff are very personable and they don't have the snotty attitude that you sometimes find in other video game stores. Check it out, you won't be sorry. read more

This place is like Disney World for classic gamer's. Come here if you want a knowledgeable staff and new games that haven't been opened for you. read more

The number one spot to go and find your favorite classic video game collectibles and so much more. Being a frequent going to the store I have purchased countless classics from their location and many more. Sometimes it's hard to find some really classic games because as soon as they come in they go right out the door . It's also awesome that they carry the NAVA each and every month. There is always a theme setting on that involves gamers and geeks like us to mingle and talk video game talk. I highly recommend any game player to at least check out this store once has it will bring you back to the time when you were so young and claim that old school Nintendo read more

Nice shop. Lots of unusual and hard to find games.

I walked in like any other casual day, was greeted by a friendly staff the store was very clean and very well organized. The staff is very knowledgeable on the products that they sell. They kept the specialty games in a separate location behind glass where it was very fair prices. There was a few games that I wanted but only had a 100 bucks on me the store owner was nice enough to drop the prices a little bit so that I can take the games that I really wanted that very same day. I would highly recommend this store for anybody near and far. It is worth checking out. read more

This is THE go to place to go for games retro to modern. Ive known Joe since 1993 and can only say great things about him and his wonderful store. The bargain bin is usually stuffed with gems if you look. And the employees are top notch. Always willing to chat and help find something. If you collect or play videogames, this it THE place to go! read more

I am a huge gamer and this store is awesome! They have stuff I never heard of, which is just plain weird because of how deep I have always been into gaming..most of the weird stuff I have never heard of/saw have is imported. Old school game stores are dying out but this one seems to have plenty of life left in it! They have just about everything you could think of..from Atari to Colecovision to a Sony PSP video camera to 3DO games! Any video game nerds fantasy, indeed! They also have dvd's and a few arcade games as well. It's almost like being in a museum, love it. They even hold NAVA meetings and tournaments here. I would give this spot 5 stars but in all honesty I wasn't impressed with the arcade selection nor the staff. It felt like i always had someone staring at me, It's not like I'm a little kid, I'm a 30 yr old man! Maybe that was just me, and I read about people stealing stuff from their store on their web page a while back so I guess that just comes along with it..It seemed like the staff were doing their own thing and didn't want to be bothered, even just making friendly video game nerd conversation. read more

First time here and i think this place is terrific. My brother and I have basically kept all our original machines from Atari to now minus the Commodore 64....long story, and decided to create a game room in our man caves. We went to several retro game stores and found this to be a superb place to find the games you are looking for. They sell them two ways. cartridges for the gamers, complete in original packaging for the collectors. my brother is the collector and im the gamer, so this was perfect for us. the place is neatly separated by cartridges and boxed by their systems. they even have a museum section. my brother spent two to three hundred and left with over 20-30 cartridges. the reason i gave this place a 4 out of 5 is that i had to drive hr plus so its not really convenient for a new yorker, especially paying the the tolls and the 75 cent increase, even with the ez-pass. The other is that some of the more popular items like links, dk, marios are not here so if you are looking for them, its a hit or miss. read more

What more can be said about this beyond amazing store that hasn't been said already? Too many fond memories going to this place for nearly ten years! For starters they can repair pretty much any game or system for a fair price! They repaired my NES for $20 which needed new pins thank goodness for my NES is my most prized possession for 27 years and counting! Staff is beyond friendly knowledgable and caring and prices are reasonable from Atari to ps4! Trade in values are fair and they accept pretty much anything game related so bring your trades in you never know if they will accept it or not! Arcade games are available there for you to play as well and they have a nice selection of comic books art books and old game magazines as well! They have monthly game tournaments where you can win cold hard cash and every last Saturday of every month is the monthly store convention called NAVA with free tournaments free snacks and first come first serve for you to freely sell anything game related you want space permitting once a month. All in all any self respecting video game fans owe it to themselves to visit this place which has been in great hands ever since founder Joe santulli moved on to his video game museum project in Texas DIGITAL PRESS I SALUTE YOU!!! read more

Very disappointed had i known how the girl behind the registere treated my wife i would of walked out. I expect snutty behavior from a gamestop not the local shop I frequent often. Well i guess ill be going elsewhere for my collection. read more

There is NO OTHER STORE that comes close to this one if you are into classic games! Joe's classic game collection explodes into a huge store where you can find anything and everything from the classic gaming era to the current games! Only the LAME haven't been there yet! read more

Going to Digital Press Videogames is like stepping into a time warp and emerging back in the time when video games didn't focus on story & arcades ruled the world. Joe's passion for the hobby really shines through in his store (and website). If you are even the slightest bit interested in gaming, modern or retro, you should treat yourself to a visit. This store literally stocks EVERYTHING from the Magnavox Odyssey to the PS3, the pricing is very fair & the store is kept in tip top shape. This is no Multimedia 1.0. Digital Press Videogames is easily the best video game store in the Northeastern US, if not the best in country! Do yourself a favor and make the pilgrimage. You will not be disappointed. read more

Hey Joe its Will on a scale of 1-5 I give your store a 4 out a 5 and a 8.5 outa 10. First I'll start with the positives. On the good side its cool to see you fit that much in a small store. You got tons of games and a nice little lan center Plus the arcade machines are nice as well. Nava is also kick ass to with Rock Band being played. On the negative side it's cool to have the arcade machines but some are vary outdated. Also I like Rock Band at Nava but their always is some other game just a little to old for me. Maybe if its gonna be something classic put like Teenage Mutant Ninga Turtles Mega man Sonic Spider man beat um ups the fun games. Finally in Tourneys you need official judges. Overall I like your store a lot much better than Game stop for sure. The Final Say a great store for anyone who loves gaming as much as you and me. read more

This place is the biggest piece of shit. I'm giving a one star only because they don't have negative stars. I used to love coming here all the time, but ever since the owner started his fabulous dream of a Video Game Museum in Texas, he's been spending less and less time at the store and leaving the minions in charge and the novelty has quickly wore off on me. These kids don't know shit about video games, they will say anything to make a sale and guess what? If you buy the wrong cable or controller, you're screwed because they don't give refunds! "Does this system work" "Yea sure it works" (system doesn't work) "SORRY NO REFUNDS!!!!!!" You get store credit! Can I play store credit? Do yourselves a favor, come to this store to admire the novelties like the systems and games of yesteryear, but for the love of Pete unless you're really desperate, or you need a retro cable or controller and can't wait for it through Ebay DO NOT BUY ANY SYSTEMS OR CARTRIDGE GAMES!!!!!!!! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more
