When in doubt... go to Dig Inn. Dig Inn is my go-to spot for lunch. This location can get very busy, and the lines are often long, so I highly recommend ordering online or through the app for pickup. The pickup process is always smooth, and my order is consistently ready on time. The location itself is fairly spacious, but there isn't much seating if you want to dine in. I noticed only a handful of seats near the windows, so it's really more of a grab-and-go spot than a place to sit and enjoy your meal. It also gets very crowded during the lunch rush, which makes takeaway the better option. I usually order the Vegan DIG Classic, which is one of my personal favorites. The portion size is just right filling without being too heavy and the flavors are fresh and savory. I almost always add a little extra tofu and sweet potato. The Vegan DIG Classic comes with tofu, rice, sweet potato, and broccoli, and you can customize it with additional toppings or your choice of dressing. You definitely don't have to be vegan to enjoy it it's a flavorful and satisfying meal for anyone. read more

I needed a spot for a quick pre-show meal and figured it has been a hot minute since I've had Dig Inn. This location was on the way from the Path station at 33rd and the theater on 44th so perfect. I had my usual, faro with grilled chicken, mac & cheese, and lemon charred broccoli, paired with pesto sauce. Tasted just as good as it used to when I would get this combo weekly when I worked in Soho. There's a little bit of seating, so we were able to grab a table when someone left. I enjoyed my meal here. The setting is small with few seats and kind of self served but not. Had a chance to try faro for the first time and I love it! So many places have opened up similar to chipotle but better. You choose your base (faro) then your two sides (broccoli and roasted carrots - so good) next your protein (grilled chicken - a little overcooked) and topped with a dressing (garlic aioli) or go naked. I went here for the 1st time Saturday around 5p & it wasn't really busy. Staff not too inviting, nor helpful. So I ordered greens instead of rice, tomatoes, seasoned carrots topped with salmon. Stopped in for a crispy tofu sandwich at around 5 pm. The guys behind the counter were super nice, really accommodating. Unfortunately, that didn't make up for an unsatisfying sandwich. The tofu wasn't crispy, it was likely just baked, the spring mix greens were wilted and sad, and the bread was kind of tasteless. I don't know whether or not the sandwich was supposed to be warm, but it wasn't. It was room temperature. Meal was delicious but it's too small for $14- more like $10. Chicken was plentiful but the sides needed a little more increase. I had the broccoli. This is 1/2 rice, 1/2 salad greens. Solid lunch spot in Midtown! I've ordered from this location for years and it's consistently fresh. Whenever I want a salad or low-carb (but still tasty and filling) lunch, this is my go-to. Pre-pandemic I thought the protein portions were getting a little small...my salmon or chicken servings were often measly. However, I've noticed recently that the portions are much bigger than they used to be, so I'm bumping this up to 5 stars. I've tried almost all of their sides and I think the cashew kale caesar is my favorite. The cashews give it a nice crunch, and the dressing is flavorful but not too heavy. As much as I love Brussel sprouts and spicy food, the charred Brussels with honey-chilli oil are a little too spicy for me...I can never finish them. The Mac and cheese isn't the healthiest option but it's decadent and cheesy...once in a while I have to treat myself. Overall, they have a nice range of sides...something for everyone! We got the Crispy Chicken Kale Caesar Salad, the Seared Salmon Plate, and side orders of Roasted Cauliflower and the Meatballs with Tomato Ragu Sauce. The chicken was delicious with crispy skin and juicy meat. The kale was fresh and tasty. Unfortunately, the salad was supposed to be a Caesar salad and it lacked any appropriate dressing without evidence of Parmesan cheese to be found. The salmon was crispy and delicious, as was the couscous, and broccoli. Unfortunately, it did not include the ordered salad dressings, so the salad was on the bland side. The side of meatballs with tomato sauce was delicious, as was the roasted cauliflower. The portions were good and the price was reasonable. A little strange that my previous review of this location has been deleted. I didn't say any negative things, besides the fact that my salmon was raw, but they fixed this by making me a new piece. Shady shit going on... Anyway, I'll write a new one! I came here for lunch with two friends today. The line was shorter than the other salad places nearby, and we were able to luckily find a table here quickly. I got the bowl with greens, Persian cucumbers, broccoli, roasted chicken, and Sriracha sauce for $13. It definitely feels like a wholesome meal everytime I eat at Dig Inn. I just don't appreciate how stingy they are with their toppings. I always have to say to them to please give me the full scoop! I would like what I'm paying $13 for! However, I don't think it's worth it for the portion you're getting, I really don't. Service at this location is always pretty sweet. Can't wait for this location to open again, but glad they are taking precautions seriously in the meantime. Pre-covid this place was packed during peak lunchtimes 12-1:30ish, sometimes I would want to get it but not want to wait in the line of 15 people (and didn't want to download another app) though if you're not in a super rush it moves pretty quickly. It's a pretty standard "choose a base, 2 sides and a protein" kind of place, though you can opt out of the protein and get a 3rd side (aka "farmer's market bowl") if you choose. Some of the sides are seasonal, which is nice to have a variety, though they don't switch it up within each season. The bases and proteins are pretty standard year-round, and pretty tasty so I ain't complaining. Bases are faro w/bits of diced veg, salad greens, or brown rice; proteins are charred chicken, herb roasted chicken, meatballs, salmon, or grilled tofu. Depending on the protein, rices run about $13-17 per bowl including tax. Pre-covid they had a crammed seating section of about 10-12 seats and a few standing spots, but most people did take-out (or pick up if they ordered ahead). I've also heard they have soups at some other locations, but haven't tried those before. read more

I have frequently ordered takeout from Dig at multiple locations, and the quality has always been consistently good. This particular location near Bryant Park is fantastic because of its close proximity. When it comes to healthier food choices in the area, Dig stands out. My order was prepared promptly, and although the ambiance wasn't a factor for me this time, it didn't affect my experience. However, I wasn't particularly fond of the dill dressing I tried this time. In future visits, I would recommend Dig not to pre-make and put dressing on the side for customers. This way the salad would be more enjoyable and not wasted. read more

I frequent the restaurant all of the time and never usually have issues. I ordered a hot honey chicken plate and asked for any sauces to be put on the side. The person who was making the plate whose name was Logan told me that I couldn't get my sauce on the side, it had to be on the food. I asked for the logic behind this and he said they don't have anything "efficient" enough to hold the sauce . Being so close to Dig Inn is a blessing and a curse. It's so good but so pricey but I think I've found a way to bypass that. I'm happy that this place is pretty generous with their portions because I'm able to get 2 meals out of one serving (or maybe my stomach has gotten smaller, which isn't the worst thing). Love this location but was sad they didn't have many protein options. They were completely out of chicken breast/meatballs- this was 12pm on a Thursday for lunch. The line was out the door but I was surprised to see they were out of many options. The roasted broccoli, peaches and sweet potato was delicious. I also love that you can mix your base - I did brown rice and farm greens. The pesto was also perfect and I liked that they included it in a small container on side.
