I have now had two appointments here for eye surgery for cataracts. Everyone here is so nice and kind the technicians the office staff as well as the Doctor Who will be doing my eye surgery. They're very polite They're very helpful and they're very understanding. This will be my first surgery ever, and they've been very detailed in the explanation as to what it entails and They worked with my optometrist in Hutto to coordinate I was apprehensive about getting the surgery done, but they have been very detailed and the explanation as to what will happen with the procedure and they have been very understanding with my anxiety. read more

I don't usually write reviews, however, my experience with cataract surgery and Dr. Labbe deserves to be told. I was referred to Dr. Labbe by my ophthalmologist for cataract surgery. To say I was apprehensive is an understatement!! It's my vision (blurry as it was) after all. From my first visit to the surgery Dr. Labbe, his office staff and the surgery center were all amazing!!! Everyone was so empathetic to my anxiety, very comforting and knowledgeable. They all answered my questions and went over everything before and after surgery. The follow up appointment the day after surgery went well. Dr. Labbe was informative and took time to see how I was doing and answered any questions I had. Never felt like I was being rushed. The wait time at the office can be a tad bit longer than an average wait time, but it's definitely worth it!! The back office staff runs well and efficiently. Everyone was very pleasant. I have 100% faith in Dr. Labbe and will be having my second lens replacement done by him soon!! I would highly recommend Dr. Labbe for any of your eye health care!!! read more

Great people! Went in for a consultation concerning the need for a post cataract procedure that Dr Dietlein did 6 years ago...called a posterior capsulotomy. Very courteous, professional check in, eye and vision exam. Saw Dr Dietlein; we discussed the procedure and 1 hour later all was done. He was his usual congenital, professional self. No problems with the procedure and I was on my way. I highly recommend the clinic. read more

Dr. Labbe of Round Rock Taylor area preformed surgery in which I don't think I needed from jump-start. I was seeing before surgery. He only looked into my eye with a little round object. No before or after pictures, only to tell me he explored my eye completely and thoroughly and there was no hemorrhaging. (but my sight in right eye is gone 4 years now) Going into Djafari office he takes plenty of photos and he can see inside my eye without cutting it unlike what Dr. Labbe did. Dr. Djafari is great but his front office all act like they are hard of hearing. Dr. told me my sight wouldn't improve from having a surgery. And he couldn't do anything for my eye. Have ask the front office for paperwork. I have been to six different eye doctors and they all are saying they do not know the reasoning of him cutting in my eye to see the back of the eye read more

I went for glasses and to check on cataracts. Found I had to have doctors approval first upon arrival with my Medicare insurance because they are a specialty group yet I only saw an O.D. Paid out of pocket. She spent 3 minutes on the glasses part. I told her none were acceptable. Instead of "let's try again" she said it was "the best I could do". Said cataracts not big enough to remove and I had dry since one of my plugs had fallen out. Did not offer to replace but said it might help when asked if it would benefit me to replace it. Said I couldn't see well due to cataracts but were not big enough to take off. They didn't even offer me sun protection with my eyes dialated. Walked out the door blinded by the sun. Basically I spent a lot of money to find out I couldn't see and get a prescription for glasses that won't help. I will have to find an opthamologist which I went there for but didn't get. read more

My dad had cataracts removed by Dr. Dietlein and has visited LOTS of medical offices and clinics the past few years. The experience with Dr. Dietlein and his office staff have been one of the best. It's rare to find a medical office that is so organized and professional. I am an old man with a long history of eye problems. I only see today because of the skill of Dr. Dietlein. Lately he has put me with Dr Labbe, his partner because of his specialty. I would not want me as a patient for eyes. I had multiple surgeries before I became a patient here and my eyes have presented many problems for them. They have never given up and treat me like I am their only patient. Jodi is the best. She is on staff there. They know who to hire as their staff is the best. I can't recommend them highly enough. Years ago, a colleague of mine was diagnosed with cancer in her eye and was told by a physician that she would lose the eye. She got a second opinion from Dr. Jon Dietlein who was able to help save her eye. This is how I found out about him and why I chose Dr. Dietlein as my ophthalmologist. I have various eye problems and I am also rather skittish about eye exams, however Dr. Dietlein has always been patient and reassuring. He always takes the time to explain one's condition and suggest possible treatments. Unfortunately he is highly respected and therefore very busy. It is not unusual to wait 30 minutes or more to see him. However the quality of his care is worth it. read more

Dr Labbe and associates are fantastic people to deal with. Dr Labbe accurately assessed my eye problems and set me up for surgery quickly. His staff were very kind, helped me with problems that I had and not only repaired my eye. He was very truthful and said I might still need glasses since my cataract was so big and thick. After the surgery in about two weeks I can tell you that my eye healing was so good that I went from being legally blind in my right eye to having 20/20 vision in both eyes. I have been going to Dietlein Eye Center for decades. I originally saw Dr. Dietlein and always felt I was receiving excellent care. He helped me with contacts and convinced me that it was the healthy choice to use daily contacts. I've done this, solely on his recommendation, for decades. For reasons I can not recall, I was then sent to see Dr. Evans and, from that time on, I was never able to schedule an appointment with Dr. Dietlein. It worked out because she was very good as well. She was very attentive, kept a close eye on some special issues which make me more susceptible to a certain kind of glaucoma, and kept a close eye on my visual needs. She has been so good that, in fact, I drive about 2+ hours to see her! Due to the pandemic, I missed my appointments (I am at a high risk should I get Covid) but I wasn't having any issues. I was not contacted via phone, text, email, or mail to be alerted that Dr. Evans was leaving the office. So, when I called today, I was a bit surprised and disappointed. I asked to return to Dr. Dietlein's care. After multiple questions about insurance, my care, my needs, etc, the receptionist asked if I still wore contacts. Yes, as per Dr. Dietlein's recommendations. It was only after this long period that I was then told he "doesn't fit contacts" - and that, although I could see him, he wouldn't write a prescription for contacts. Well, that's not helpful! I was told that there was another person I could see. There was no apology or empathy, or concern! However, my 85 year old mother who has Parkinson's is having some significant visual issues. I told the receptionist this and asked if they accepted Medicare. Yes, they do! Hooray. Will Dr. Dietlein see her? A battery of questions followed ... with the last one being "Has she had cataract surgery?" Yes. "Did Dr. Dietlein do it?" No. (We were living out of state). It was only THEN that I was told he only sees people needing cataract surgery. This is a long story... but I realize that, every time I had to deal with the office staff (NOT the doctors or techs), it has been a negative experience. They are curt, involved in side conversations, and often providing or referring to incorrect information. On multiple times, the office staff have been quite short and rude to retired/older patients. I have seen an older man come in to for his appointment late because of a problem with the ride he had arranged. When he came to the window, I overheard the conversation. He had called and told them he was running late. While at the window, he struggled, obviously flustered. He was shown no compassion, but the woman kept looking at the clock and, finally, told him that they would not see him because now he was too late. I know punctuality is important but there are some special cases which should be considered. After all, I have sat in the waiting room over 30 minutes past my appointment until I was called to be seen... whereupon, I had to wait longer until the doctor arrived. As skilled as Dr. Dietlein is (and as skilled as Dr. Evans was), if you have someone who would like good customer service from the office staff, look elsewhere. read more

I called this office because of friends recommendations. I had not been to the office previously - but I accidentally scratched my cornea on a Sunday afternoon & was in great pain the next morning.. I asked for help to see a Dr there. Crying from pain on the phone. Explaining what happened & pain I was in. The young lady I spoke with was very unfeeling & read from a scripted form.. asked me for my name, which I shared my first name thinking it's all she needed for the moment- only to have her reply "do you have a last name?" Sarcastically. I was not happy or impressed. I was in pain & needed help... she was very uncaring. Told me she would have to call me back. 30 min later she calls to inform me the office could not make time for me that day- but could give me the # to another Dr at Seton Hospital in RR.. but she didn't know the name of the Dr. Really!!? I made several calls to other offices this morning - not one other in Georgetown made me feel so in cared about as Dietlein's office. I do NOT recommend this office - if only due to the lack of caring people who are answering their phones.. that speaks volumes about the practice in general to me. I was able to get in right away with an office right down the road & the Dr said to me- we always make time for emergency issues... and I have a bad tear in my cornea- Dr said she was very glad I came in- as it was urgent I be seen. I've been seeing Dr. Evans for over 6 years. She is very knowledgeable and staff are friendly. My only complaint is that one of the assistants dropped the f-bomb during the blue light eye check at my last visit. My eyes were unusually sensitive to it this time and I had to pull back a little. Very happy with the outcome of my cataract surgery. Because of previous RK surgery and glaucoma, I was very anxious before my cataract surgery. I've been going to Dietlein eye center for over 10 yrs along with other members of my family. Even after I moved to Austin I continued using this eye center because I thought it was good practice to stay with a doctor and facility that would treat you well for your loyalty to their business. I was mistaken about this place, in the middle of this pandemic I scheduled an appointment over a month and ten days away because that was the earliest date I could come in. I'm a teacher so I had to take off from work and students to go to this appointment. I knew what day the appointment was but was unsure of the time so I called in that morning to verify the time, and told them I was running late when they said my appointment was scheduled 20 minutes from my call. They said there was a twenty minute window for tardiness and I walked through the door at 21 minutes late. They refused to see me and sent me home. My frustration lies with an office staff that is too unprofessional to send any sort of communication through phone text or email that would have helped me be on time to my appointment. In turn I've wasted an instructional day and not gotten my eyes checked. Thanks Dietlein I'm glad to know that your staff can't follow through with simple communication that a Wal Mart eye center is more capable off. Needless to say I'm not coming back and I'm pretty sure none of my family is going to as well. read more

I had a Chalazion removed by Dr. Thad Labbe On 7/15/16. At the Advance eye care & surgery in Round Rock.He was respectful and was very professional. Dr. Labbe explained what the procedure would be like and made me feel very comfortable. The issue I did have was with his staff. After the procedure one of the techs told me she would send my prescription to get filled as soon as they arrived at their office in Georgetown. My procedure was finished around 10:30AM. I also left my bank information so they could charge my card as soon as they arrived to their office in Georgetown. I received a message from my bank that the acct had been charged at 12:00PM. I assumed they would have sent out my prescription to the pharmacy as well. I called my pharmacy around 1:00 PM and they still hadn't received anything. I called Dr. Labbe's office, And the lady who answered the phone ( I can't recall her name) told me that it still had not been sent out. That the technician who was in charge of my case was out at lunch and she should have sent out my prescription before going on her break. She took down some of my information and told me she would have the tech do it once she got back. My husband called back two hours later and they still had not sent out my prescription to the pharmacy. My husband asked if the ointment was not important to which they answered that it was, but that all the Prescriptions are sent out to the pharmacies at the end of the day. I needed the antibiotic ointment for my eye after the procedure. I believe they should have communicated better and I should not have waited over 6hrs to receive my prescription. I hope they don't take all their cases so lightly. read more

Requested a routine yearly eye exam covered by my insurance and saw Dr. Evans. My first hint of extremely poor medical service occurred during the eye exam when the machine used to ascertain one's prescription kept "fogging up" and I was told to breath differently. The second hint took place during the ocular pressure exam when there was a variance of approximately 20% between exams given within minutes by two different people. The third hint occurred with billing when I wasn't billed for a routine eye exam. The final straw is when I saw an ophthalmologist in Austin who after a comprehensive eye exam said my eyes are fine (read no high ocular pressure). read more
