Every so often, someone from our team will drop in at Diesel Donuts & Coffee and pick up a dozen donuts to share at our team meeting - and boy is it worth it. They have the neatest selection of specialty cake donuts that are made from scratch daily. The bagel sandiwches are also pretty tasty! The restaurant is located where a filling station was located in the 1950s and 60s, hence the name and the decor. They serve Jittery Joe's coffee (not my favorite, but it's not bad either), as well as a handful of other baked goods. It's definitely worth stopping in and trying them out! read more

Nestled in Jefferson proper, it's a cute little gas station styled coffee and donut shop with the BEST, you guessed it, coffee and donuts! These donuts are cakey and not overly sweet they are the absolute perfect pairing of ingredients to give you the ultimate breakfast treat! I ordered the Maple Donut (my fav), the turtle donut (this one was ordered for Bob but I stole most of it for science right?! lol! So good!!) and a chocolate with sprinkles for my kiddo :) Whenever I go to a new coffee shop I always order a dirty chai latte with oatmilk this latte knocked my literal socks off I was wearing sandals lol but still literal 10 out of 10! It was almost a spiced mocha coffee type drink but so unbelievably creamy with a great amount of spice and coffee flavor absolutely delicious! The donuts are so good here. Not greasy or pre-made in any capacity. Just fresh made donuts, bagels, sandwiches, and waffles. I got the Cinnamon Toast Crunch donut and my boyfriend got the traditional/old fashioned cake donut. He's not huge on sweets and this one has just enough glaze to keep it moist and give it a little crunch but not too sweet. They also have Jittery Joe's coffee, a locally owned brand, hot and cold. You can also buy bulk coffee for home. They do catering as well. All drinks and sandwiches are made to order so you may be waiting a while but it's worth the wait and the staff is so friendly. First time here. Just needed a caffeine boost and a warm place with strong WiFi. It's 2pm on a wintery Wednesday and clearly this is a local hot spot. One barista working. So kind, so personable. He knows a few customers by name if not by order. He has checked in on me twice asking if I need more coffee or water. Just truly epitomizing southern hospitality at its best. I finally made time to try Diesel donuts and I was not disappointed. When I heard they had bagel sandwiches I had to give it a try. I went with the spicy chicken which has bacon, egg, and cheese. It was everything I hoped it would be. They order their bagels from NY so if you're a bagel snob you definitely need to stop in and get a sandwich! I also had to grab some donuts. I had the red velvet one and it was perfect, moist and bouncy, with a cream cheese icing. My husband had a zebra striped donut which he enjoyed and then they threw in a chocolate one that I'm saving for later but I'm sure will be yummy. It's a cute place with lots of different doughnuts flavours to choose from, as well as coffee, non-coffee drinks like lemonade and smoothies, bagel sandwiches, and other desserts. They have non-dairy options for their milk-based beverages (soy, oat, and almond milk)z There are a few tables inside with additional seating outside. We found parking right out front, but I imagine it might get pretty packed on weekends. The doughnuts were 4/5 stars for me - a bit too greasy for my tastes but overall delicious. Service, donuts and music .... First time trying this place as I pass it daily almost . Let's start with service the two young ladies working were good, this being my first time I would recommend that the counter person ask if this is your first visit and could then offer some help to best sellers etc, but again they were great smiles and fast. Donuts, I won't say I'm an expert but I proudly refuse to eat one from Dunkin' Donuts . These donuts had many options but most appeared to be cake based not yeast unlike a lot of other places that offer both and maybe it's the size of the location . The flavor I tried 3 donuts chocolate peanut butter , Oreo and Samoa . Chocolate peanut butter , the flavor of the cake donut seemed different it then had chocolate icing and a ring of peanut butter , the peanut putter was slightly runny as if closer to peanut butter sauce maybe mix a small amount of powder sugar to thicken it yet still be able to use a pipping bag to frost. Oreo also had same chocolate cake donut vanilla frosting and pieces of Oreo . Flavor was good the frosting did not take away from the flavor as it was ample amounts of Oreo Samoas was a plain cake donut, this was my least favorite which is odd cause it's my most favorite cookie from the Girl Scouts. Maybe toast the coconut or try a different Carmel . Still love the idea and I'm sure it is a huge seller . This is a strange review as I score it a 4 yet I have issues , I think cause I want this place to be amazing even with my one visit . All in all nothing would prevent me from going again . read more

Hard to review a place when you didn't actually sample any of the products. I've been here several times over the last few years and although not a Starbucks, it's good. This past Wednesday was a disaster. Mid morning around 10 with one person ordering and another waiting for their order when I joined the line. No response from the counter help. After several minutes and she had taken the order in front of me, she dismissively looks up at me and says " I'll be with in a minute " no hello, no smile, just a employee not engaged at all. She then proceeds to poke at the register for the next 5 minutes, never helping the girl behind her with orders or taking mine. Finally I just left. Great breakfast sandwich! Maybe a little more QT "hellos" when you walk in. Been there twice and nobody says anything to you when you walk in. Once you get to the register it's friendly. The way it's setup is when you come thru the door everybody's attention is to you so that's why I think a hello is the way to kill the awkwardness.
