Pros: I have found lots of helpful employees here, and they always seem to be able to find what I need. Stores open floor plan that doesn't cram all the displays on top of each other makes it possible to actually look around and shop and see what you are looking at. Their variety of brands allows me to try on/inspect lots of options before I buy something. Cons: This is about the most expensive sporting goods store in Spokane. Also, when they took over for Sportsmen's Warehouse, they got rid of a lot of the camping and outdoor gear and focused a ton more on football, baseball/softball, and running. Just like Sports Authority and Big 5. Just a note, if you are going to do what others are already doing, it is stupid to charge more than everyone else. Realistically, even after I figure in the yearly cost of my Amazon Prime membership, I still save huge amounts of cash over this place. Plus I don't have to leave my house. If I don't have time to wait for my stuff to be delivered, I can still go to Sports Authority and get it same day cheaper than here. I guess the only reason a person would go here is they live closer to here than Sports Authority. Dick's Sporting Goods is essentially redundant and overpriced. read more

My husband used to be a Golf Pro. He came in with his father and our 3 year old looking for a replacement golf club. After hitting a few balls with the demo club the employee started bugging him about hitting balls and mentioned some club "fitting fee." My husband was irritated with the attitude and left. What a waste of precious time. 10 years of military service has taken me all around the country, and I have never been to a Dick's SG with such a wide selection of golf gear, and such an AWFUL customer experience in the golf section. I bet you'd sell more gear if your employees were trained to use the demo bay. Disappointed with the service. In times like these with stores struggling you would think they would go above and beyond to accommodate the customer but that wasn't my experience. I asked for help finding a particular item and the clerk said she'd ask and come back. Well, I waited 30 minutes and she never came back. Meanwhile, I was tempted to make a spontaneous purchase of the TRX system but had questions about the three options they offered. Again, no clerk came by to ask if I needed any help. I have only been at Dicks in Spokane Valley twice... and I am done! 1. Worst customer service in town. I went into the store Friday afternoon at 4pm. There were 12-15 employees on the floor. No one made eye contact or asked me if I needed help. 2. Prices are the highest in town. I found a pair of basketball shoes that I purchased the week prior for my son. They were 20% more expensive at Dicks. 3. Check out line is a joke. Are you selling sporting goods or herding cattle? 4. Basketball is a huge sport in Spokane. They have a huge store and the skimpiest selection of basketball gear in town. read more

One of my favorite new additions to Spokane! This is by far the best athletic retail store I have ever found and I am so happy it is finally local! The location is massive and still looks as sharp as it did when it opened. They have a great layout that makes finding what you need (and of course that extra something that you didn't know you needed until you saw it...) a breeze. The staff is really helpful and available. The lines can be long on mass shopping days (black Friday) but they move quickly because they have so many registers. Yes, ​they have some expensive gear...but these are brand names that we all know have a price tag attached. If you need it...they will have it...and as an athlete/outdoor enthusias,​​ I cannot ask for more. read more

This is NOT a reflection of the lovely customer service lady who helped me in the call center, or the store manager at this location who was also understanding, or the poor store clerk that I lost my temper with. In fact, I made him lose his cool too and he told me to "Talk to Dick" about my frustrations. Well, I hope Dick gets this message: you have CrApPy online ordering policies. When something that was supposedly in stock suddenly is not, then you find the exact item in the store when you go to pickup, which is a local store across town from the other store that suddenly didn't have your item...you can't just have the order addended. If you want to instead switch the item to have it shipped (they had it in stock online) they can't do that. They cancelled it before that, even if I could have AND here's the kicker...they hold your bank funds so you can't purchase the item you needed because they are held hostage. Not exactly their issue, BUT the ability not to have flexible customer fulfillment I do blame pointedly on them...on Dick...whoever is running this company. So, again, I appreciate the store clerk telling me to "talk to Dick". I will assuredly do that. read more

This store is horrible. None of the workers wanted to work which resulted in me waiting a half hour to get my fishing license. They say free reel winding but charged me $10 fee cause the guy didnt know how to use the machine. He overfilled my reel which ended up making me do it myself. Worst store in spokane. Went in to look for running shoes and the young man who was at the shoe department was far more interested in his phone than helping us as we waited in front of him. After he came to (we had to ask him for help) he obviously did not want to make the effort to help us. I had to keep asking him questions that as a retail clerk, he should have been at least asking the rudimentary service questions. He looked very disinterested and bored. To you young man, wake up and and realize that you have a job. A company found something in you that moved them to hire you. Feel thankful and don't look at your employment as something that you deserve. You had better feel grateful that someone hired you. You walk into an interview with that attitude, you wouldn't make it to the 3rd question. read more

Hello. So it was at your Spokane valley location. It happened right after opening on Jan 2- about 10:05 am. I went in for a paid of ski goggles and it had 50 precent off. The tag for the discount was poorly labeled and looked it was all the items on that shelf, so I got a pair and went up. I asked the lady at the counter if it was right, she said yes- soooo.... when she rang me up and told me my total she was like 43.50 and I said you told me that was a discount item. The lady got really snarky and b@@@@@ and said with a snark " haha, I didn't say that" and I I got really pissed and told her to learn how to remember what she said and walked out. This hasn't been my first run In with her. I can't get her name. But she is a taller dark haired girl.... needless to say I think this needs to get addressed and compensated in some way or I'll never come back. I get that people make mistakes, but don't say one thing and them when it's wrong 2 seconds later, you have to have the sense to not be b***** and snarky about it... learn how to be better read more

Store made a mistake and put out a bunch of The Rock bulls boys shirts before the launch date. Not the customers fault, the stores. My boys pick out some matching ones and were so, so excited for them. We waited in the normally long line to check out only to be told they can't actually sell us the shirts right now. We had to wait until the launch date (which is so ridiculous anyways). We asked the manager Andrew if anything could be done about it and he was annoyed even talking to us. I have my crying son next to me, not understanding why he can't have his new bull shirt. I asked if I can just get a similar shirt, anything with a bull on it and even though there were multiple shirts on the floor with a bull, I was told no. Super disappointed in what happened at the north Spokane store today. Beware of this place! They are grossly overpriced and the staff is totally incompetent. They just tried charging me $64 for six dollars worth of fishing line and were then offended when I called them on it. In addition, their return policy is unreasonably ridiculous. My husband and I went to Dick's yesterday to purchase some new walking shoes for me. We had started a fitness plan a month ago and I had literally wore down my shoes in that time. I was excited to see all of the styles to choose from there. However... While we tried on several pairs of shoes and were clearly debating which one would be best- we were completely ignored by the clerk/salesperson standing just feet away from us! It was not busy. A couple of people went up the the salesperson to ask a question and then he went right back to clicking away on some order screen. We had narrowed down our choices between two pair and could have used some advice when I walked over to him to ask a question but he walked off before I could say anything although we were looking right at each other. That pissed me off! No way was I spending that kind of money in a store whose employees are "dicks." My husband and I decided to leave and look at Famous Footwear at the Mall. The only reason Dick's deserves 2 stars is because they have such nice inventory and the store was clean. We received EXCELLENT SERVICE at Famous Footwear and even added to our purchases with more a couple of more items before leaving. - Before we left Dick's I stopped by a register and told the young gal working there about our experience. She laughed and said they get that a lot but there's nothing she can do about it. read more

I went into the store for a bike for my son. Got greeted right as we came in the store, this is the last time we where spoken too without initiating the conversation. We looked at bikes for a half hour while we saw multiple employees walk by and ignore us. Well we picked out a bike on our own without any employees help or input(even looked prices up online at the website because tags where missing). Took it up front to the checkout and was asked by an associate if we filled out a bike form, I responded with a no we picked a bike out on our own while we where being ignored in the back for the last half hour. He then got on his headset asking for assistance with a bike form, after another ten minutes we said never mind we will take our business elsewhere. How is this good customer assistance? read more

Not very happy. Called and asked specifically for a particular item. Was told yes, they had item. Drove 30 minutes to get "supposed" in-stock item, only to find out they didn't have the item, didn't seem to know if they ever had item. Manager's excuse was he had been off for 5 days and didn't know what had come in on the last 2 trucks. A lame apology was given by manager. Won't shop there unless I absolutely have to, and even then will try to find item on-line before shopping there. read more

I order a bike online there was a coupon for a 10% off 100 dollars spent, or a 10 dollar off a 50 dollar purchase if shipped to store, also a free shipping if shipped to store. There was no option on this bike purchase to ship to store via the Dick's website. The bike arrived at the store early Sunday morning. I called on Monday Morning right at store opening to see if it was possible if they could build the bike for me. They said the bike came in with their normal load of bikes so it would be priority but they didn't know if it could be done. I hear nothing... I call Tuesday to check the status I was informed that the bike wasn't built yet and the builder said it would be approximately 48 hours FROM TUESDAY 6/14/16. I call THURSDAY 6/16/2016 THE BIKE IS YET TO BE BUILT. Frankly Walmart offers better service then this place. My wife orders a bike from Walmart the bike is shipped and built the same day. It's a shame to say but I am sad sports authority is closing; with this customer service I don't know why I ordered a bike through Dick's. I have missed out on any chance of getting coupons had to ship the bike directly to the store and PAY FOR SHIPPING THAT I COULD HAVE USED SOMEWHERE ELSE. Horrible customer service at the bike hub nobody seems to want to deal with customers at this store. read more

I went into this store to purchase a golf pull cart for my wife. I looked for 3-4 minutes for a clerk and finally used my cell phone to call the store and have a clerk meet me at the cart display area. Another 3-4 minutes passed and finally a clerk (or maybe he was a janitor given his lack of product knowledge or enthusiasm) wandered over to me. I asked about one model of cart and was told "We don't have it in stock. I can order it." I asked for another cart only to be told exactly the same thing, i moved to another cart style only was told "I don't know if we have that one in stock but I can check?" (Now there is an original thought) I asked him to do so and disappeared into a series shelves and display cases. After 4-5 minutes I noticed him speaking to a couple clearly not store employees, and when he finished addressing them he looked toward me clearly a bulb went off in his head. He turned and again disappeared behind another rack of displays. A few moments later he reappeared and approached me. "I don't believe we have those in stock" was the answer. At this point I thanked him and left. I believe that Dick's needs to discontinue carrying golf supplies as clearly everything needs to be ordered and I can do that at Amazon without troubling a store clerk or drivin 15 miles to Dick's. I would have appreciated a "Have a nice day" from the lady near the entrance/exit, but she was too busy talking across the aisle 8-10 feet distance to a co-worker and laughing rather than trying to sign up a hapless passerby for a card, etc. all in all, clearly Dick's does not want my business, and I, for one am happy to oblige. read more
