The store is a decent size but it's primarily a clothing store. It has a surprisingly limited selection of actual sporting goods.

On January 3rd, my boyfriend and I went to this location the exchange the sneakers he bought me for Christmas for a different size. We walked in and approached the counter, where Ashley was doing some of her side duties. No hello, I'll be right with you, nothing. We stood there for about 3 minutes and she finally muttered I'll be with you in a second. She finally comes over to us about two minutes later and just looks at us. My boyfriend said we'd like to exchange these after an awkward stare down. She instantly snaps "you can't if they weren't worn" we tell her they weren't, we just need a different size. She says well we don't have them. We asked to have them ordered. She said yes and starts to go through the process. Another pair of shoppers walked in and were greeted kindly, the way I would greet my customers at my store and the way I expect to be greeted. She is looking confused which is really freaking me out. I just want my sneakers!! She finally asks a coworker to help her. He guides her through and completes the transaction. She hands us the receipt and walks away. Her coworker, who I don't have the name of, gave us the info she should have gave us. The order number, customer service number, etc. I would have much rather he helped us than her!! So now it's 10 days later and I haven't seen my sneakers. I was told 3-5 business days. I found the order receipt and realized she didn't put my address in right!! The last two numbers are no where near each other on the key board.. so I was confused. She was holding my ID to put all the info in so I'm not sure how she messed that up. I called customer service and my shoes have been sitting in a different locations store and no one has bothered to get in contact with us about this. I did call the manager of this location and he was appreciative and nice about it. I am giving 3 stars based on Ashley's poor customer service and failure to be careful when entering the info. I do understand that everyone has bad days, it happens, but this is just annoying at this point. I would have given two, but the extra star is for the manager who was very nice and understanding.

Every person working that day helped to try to resolve our issue. Ultimately, they did find the keys the next day, and I promptly got a call from the store manager. We are so thankful to the Meriden Marshalls employees for their extraordinary customer service, and their actual empathy & concern. While I have always received good service at here, this incident showed me how far above and beyond the staff is willing to go for their customers. Everyone was just awesome!

She has, more than once, when I've checked out, negatively commented through judgement, both to me and about me to other cashiers and patrons, on my use of a non Marshall's credit card for my purchases. She even goes so far as to comment when I'm with a different cashier and she's working next to us. Once, I was with a different cashier standing next to her when my cashier asked me if I wanted to $ round up for a cause. After I said no thank you, this cashier, standing next to us, started making comments out loud about how she couldn't believe that I said no and then began judging me on how ignorant i must be and not have any awareness of the cause. Her behavior was highly offensive and hurtful as she has no idea about my personal experience and contributions to this cause. She doesn't know me but that didn't stop her from making humiliating out loud and inappropriate comments to me and about me. She negatively commented again just last week as I was checking out with another cashier. Since she won't stop doing this, I will stop going to this store and I will continue to share my bad experiences with others.

GHETTO. Old Navy used to be in the Townline Plaza on South…read moreBroad Street in Meriden. When it was in Townline Plaza, the store was bigger, there was a lot more as far as selection and the store was fairly clean. Since the move to the mall, this Old Navy has gone down hill quickly. 1) It's a smaller location. It's half the size of the Townline Plaza location and seemingly, there is half the merchandise and selection. Everything is cramped and crammed together. 2). The Old Navy in Townline Plaza had EVERYTHING. Jeans? Check. Work clothes? Check? Shoes? Check. Work out gear? Check. Casual clothes? Check. PJ pants? Check. Now the Meriden Mall location only seems to carry jeans and workout clothes. It's frustrating to see a wall of jeans and then a section for yoga pants and t-shirts with some really messy racks of clearance merchandise interspersed. I love Old Navy khakis for work but this location hasn't stocked khakis since the summer. 3) This place is DIRTY. There's dust and dirt EVERYWHERE. There are dustballs in the dressing rooms. There are piles of clothes in the dressings rooms because the staff apparently doesn't pick up the clothes on a regular basis. Clothing is sloppily hung on the hangers and on the racks. It's like shopping in a dollar store or flea market. 4) The staff is brain crushingly slow-speed wise and mentally. It does not take much to ring people out but even with all four registers open, there's always a line. Speed it up! Your 29.50 jeans are not worth the time spent in line to pay for them. I don't know if Old Navy is pandering to the high school demographic these days but this is a really disappointing store. If I want to go to Old Navy (and their jeans fit me the best, unfortunately), I'll go after work to West Hartford.
