I let him know of my search for binoculars and he did indeed escort me to the binocular display case, and called for another employee to take over who knew more about them, which I appreciated very much. Went in today in search of new sneakers for street and also a pair for the gym. Not busy and in the shoe department there were 5-6 sales people. They were just talking amongst themselves and I had to flag someone to help get me the sizes of the shoes that I had in my hands. The person brought me the shoes and then never checked on me. None of the other salespeople standing right by me asked if I needed help or needed anything. Terrible customer service. I found what I want and will be buying it somewhere else. This Dick's Sporting Goods store can be found in the same plaza as Homegoods with plenty of parking. My husband and I came by this location yesterday in search of a whistle and also hoping they would have any collapsible wagons left (as it has been difficult finding any store that still sells them... apparently they are a seasonal item and I guess we are late for the season to buying one). You might be wondering why we want to buy whistles. Well in order to kayak in Oregon, you are required to have a whistle, purchase a permit (can buy online for a week's past $7), wear a life jacket and carry a flashlight if you kayak in the evening. We actually have whistles at home from our previous kayaking adventures in Idaho (which they require nearly the same that Oregon requires, but had forgotten to bring the whistles). When we came in yesterday morning, around 10:45 am, a very friendly employee helped direct us to where the whistles were (in the fishing section in case you are wondering). She also told us that they do sell collapsible wagons, which are by the front of the store, near the register (surprisingly there is still a good selection of wagons available for those interested. They also have the wagon we wanted that has large, thick wheels that has no trouble going on sand). She said she can call an employee to help us get one down since they are on the top of the shelf. Afterwards, we headed over there and another friendly employee had just gotten there himself. He helped bring the large box down and said he would carry it for us to the register. After that, he asked if we wanted a cart for a wagon (which we realized we should have gotten). I said I could go get it and he said that he would be more than happy to do it for us while the employee at the register ring us up. Shortly after, he came by with a cart. I am surprised to see how poorly rated this location is (at the time of this review, 2.5 stars), as we had nothing but fantastic service as soon as we walked through the door. If I lived in this area, I would most likely be a regular visitor. read more

Several months ago, I test road a Cannondale, planned to purchase a Cannondale that was on display but they did not have the size and color I am looking for. I had been informed that I can purchase the Cannondale Topstone series I would like, have it delivered to my home, test ride it for a couple of days and return it with no restocking fee if not wanted or bring it in and have it customized purchasing it out the door. I don't have much experience shopping at Dick's until today. I went in and browsed around rather than ordering Under Armour online. Once I arrived, I was quite Impressed with their fair prices and selection of clothes. I found a pair of sweats I wanted to purchase. I went to the register & when the cashier (named Crystal) scanned the sweats, she said "these aren't for sale yet. You can't buy these." I asked what she meant and immediately she got irritated that I even would ask her for additional details for as why she wouldn't sell me the sweats I wanted to buy. She continued to rudely state that just because they were on the floor didn't mean I could purchase them. I requested to speak to a person in charge/MOD for further explanation and she says, "sure you can speak with someone but I've been here since day 1. I know what I am talking about." I mentioned she didn't need to be smart about it and could simply fulfill a request for me to speak to a manager. Derek, the manager, was polite and courteous and walked me through some mistake where the server wouldn't scan the sweats. He wouldn't sell them to me either. SO CONFUSED HOW I WAS REFUSED A SALE? As I left, I told Crystal thank you for her services and she responded to me by "go F*ck yourself" I will not be shopping at Dicks again and would rather buy my sweats from Champs or anywhere else. read more

Very disappointed in their customer service. Young girls working the fitting rooms obviously didn't want to be there and were very rude. They kept rolling their eyes when they had to take more clothes back to the rack that didn't fit. Halfway through, we were told we could only take three items in at a time and that only one person at a time could try on clothes (all of this said rudely & there was also no signage stating these rules). Then when we were ready to leave, our cart filled with our other things had been taken a way and our items put back. Overall a frustrating and horrible experience. Poor customer service. You buy a bike for granddaughter it's to small even though box information is for 3-7 years of age now she's 4 and the bike is too small go try to return for a bigger bike a 20 inch and they don't do returns even if there are no signs stating there are no signs stating sales are final. Hard lesson to learn but I have learned one never spend a dime there again. Absolutely ridiculous to spend 164.00 dollars on a bike and not even to exchange or store credit. Poor business practices. First, as I was walking up to the main entrance, the doors had a dark tan color making it impossible to see inside, which makes you wonder if the store is even open. Next, I was looking for a windbreaker, with no hood, or at least a hood that roles up into the color. When I walked in I was greeted and asked what I was looking for. I told him and he started LOOKING for what I wanted. I followed him for a bit, then stopped while he looked around. When he came back, he said he could not find what I wanted, but, he told me I could go outside to the big tent sale and look, so I left. I drove to the big tent and since I am handicapped, I got a close parking space on the back side of the tent. An employee was sitting at the entrance and I asked her where you paid and was told, INSIDE THE STORE, not in the tent sale area, so I left. read more

Terrible service. Took me 1 hr in store to talk to someone. Purchased a Nordic track elliptical on 6/14/2022 was supposed to be delivered and assembled 7/2. They cancelled on me only hours before delivery date from a New Jersey number without any identification in the text message . Then I called them 4 times after that and every time they have the cliche "sorry for the inconvenience someone will call you asap to reschedule " and of course they never follow up. I cancelled and ordered directly from Nordic Track. Costs $400 less and purchase done in 2 minutes. I went in to Dicks Sporting Goods the other day and I was greeted by an older gentleman who was wearing a gold watch. The way he interacts with people is absolutely lovely. He welcomed me in and gave me a firm handshake and asked if I needed anything. I think it's really important for stores to have greeters like this because it makes ones shopping experience so much better. Just in Dicks to EXCHANGE a shirt same brand same price and was told in a loud voice in NO uncertain terms we could not exchange we could ONLY get $4.95 for a $55.00 shirt!!! Open your wallet, find it yourself, and don't expect to find an employee with a smile on their face. Having been given a gift certificate, we were anxious to wander the aisles of this massive store. Everything from soup to nuts. The selection? You will probably find what you are looking for. Will you be able to afford it? You may have better luck being able to set your sites on one of the beautiful retirement ho mes perched on a hillside in this amazing city. I am a customer that will open their bank account and happily pay full price for quality. However, when I speak of quality, I must add the over stated comment that "You can get merchandise anywhere, the difference is the experience provided by the employees". Yes its Christmas, and maybe there were more customers than usual, (I wouldn't know usual, being my first time in this store), however a busy season is all the more reason to put a smile on your face and go that extra mile. What does a smile cost? How long does it take? I will add that we did find a very nice, quality, item. I will also add that we will probably not darken the door again. As a customer I can find a huge selection at my fingertips at home on my sofa. What I really want when venturing from my home is the feeling that I am valued as a customer. Here? This place is huge and has a pretty large selection of items, but they are way overpriced compared to most other stores. I recently went here and found a pair of shorts on the clearance rack in the men's department. When I got home, I realized they were actually a child's size medium shorts. Frustrating but I wrote it off considering it was on a clearance rack. A mistake made by anyone. I went back the next day to return the shorts and exchanged them for a threadborne shirt that was also in the men's department but not on the clearance rack. The price tag was labeled MENS medium. I got home and went to put it on and the tag on the shirt said WOMENS medium. Needles to say, when I go back to return the shirt, that will be my last visit to Dick's. read more

I had money in hand to buy an expensive item and couldn't even get waited on, or acknowledged, though an employee saw me and continued to lounge against a display case. I was one of only two people in the whole store. A beautiful spacious store stocked up, but incompetent, negligent employees. Worst customer service ever!!!! Bought a coat for a Christmas present, it didn't fit so I went to take it back with reciept gift reciept, and tags on a never worn coat. They said it can't be returned or exchanged. But it has been less than 30 days. They said sorry and it has already been returned. I said it's a mistake I have all the documentation. No but they can't tell me the date it was returned even though I have the purchase date on my reciept. The manager wouldn't even look or talk to me. Customer service 800 number only can deal with online orders. So apperently I'm stuck with a 200 coat that dosent fit. I asked the cashier how it was retuned if it's in my possession? She made it sound like I returned the coat, hopped the counter with 5 employees, stole the coat without being noticed then returned it again. Do not shop here, there are plenty of other places to go that treat their customers better. read more
