I was asked for my phone number and I politely declined to provide that info for a price check. I was told they couldn't do a price check unless I provided that info. In what world does that make sense? I shouldn't need to provide my phone number for any kind of transaction, much less a price check. The associate said it was required so I walked out without purchasing the items. That will be the last time I ever shop at a Lane Bryant again, super disappointing.

Out for dinner - We grabbed our check, settled up, and jumped in the car. We arrived at Famous Footwear at 8:52 PM. They had no customers when I entered the door, asking if I was "too late to shop quickly?". The young man and young lady that were working were clearly setting all things right and tidy to close. They could have (understandably) said "yes ma'am...We're about to close." But, they said "Welcome in. You can shop. We're open." I thanked them and promised to hurry. They reassured me that I was welcome to shop until I found what I needed. I didn't finish until 9:15. The two were quick to answer questions and super polite. I was prepared to grab the first black shoe that would serve my purpose, but found a more ideal white shoe, because of their graciousness. They saved my shoe image for Sunday! I give these two clerks (I wish I had gotten their names!) two thumbs up and FIVE STARS! They were just...WOW!

This store is so open and spacious that either they actually have a much larger selection, or everything is spread out enough that it gives the illusion that they do. Whatever the case, it makes for a more pleasant shopping experience. The one thing they do have in common though, is the ever present buy one, get one 50% off sale (with exclusions of course). For years I've been buying Skechers not just for myself but for my entire family. It's one of those brands that consistently delivers on quality, comfort and style. Only once do I remember a brief deviation from that with their gimmicky shape-up shoes that supposedly helped people lose weight. But that claim was ultimately proven false. Luckily, I didn't fall for that, although if I did, I'm sure I'd still be wearing them today.

Instead of the traditional long, continuous aisles, the beauty department is now set up with cute little "nooks." The new layout is much brighter, and the products are displayed right at eye level, which makes browsing super easy. Plus, I was happy to find the exact deodorant I was looking for! My only minor complaint--as always with Target--is wondering why there are so many checkout lanes built into the store when only a couple are ever open. Other than the usual wait at checkout, the remodel is a great upgrade!
