I would give 0 stars if I could. I ordered a recumbent bike to be delivered and set up. When I was transferred to Leo in the fright department he said FedEx would deliver and AIT would set up. The problem is the inability to get the bike in the house myself. He said we could look for a different bike, more money, so AIT would deliver and set up. I cancelled the order. I am so disappointed that they could not manage to have AIT deliver and set up at the same time. Terrible customer service! Buyer beware!!! read more

I've had a couple of mini-adventures trying to find specific stuff. For instance, I was really hoping to snag a pair of those ON Cloud shoes, but no dice. Their stock seems to vanish faster than free pizza at a party. Their shoe selection especially, could use a serious upgrade. They're missing a bunch of the usual suspects you know the popular brands and styles you see everywhere. Think of it more as a quickstop shop. One of the worst Dick's Sporting Goods locations in this area. The manager, Mo, was completely unhelpful, and the store itself was disorganized and poorly run. There's a serious lack of common sense when it comes to solving problems and treating customers with basic respect. Very disappointing experience. Do not go to this store. Awhile ago it said they had shorts in store and we have been looking for them forever and they ended up not having them because a woman stole them that morning and she "got away too fast." In addition to that, this store has walls for their shorts. There was a 2 for $30 deal on the DSG shorts so we grabbed two and our person checking us out argued that it was only for skorts and dresses when there were 2 signs on that wall for those shorts. Agree with prior reviews - they do not accept returns - once you walk out that door, it's yours despite the 90-day return policy stated on back of receipt. Let the buyer Beware. Store must be trying to improve it's net sales with corporate. Returned my item at Dick's in Oswego with no problem whatsoever. The managers were very rude there. Bought my son a baseball glove. He came home and threw a couple balls in the air. Realized he could not use it so we bring it back to get a different one. They wouldn't take it back saying it was used. I called corporate they said the store should absolutely take it back since it is within the 90 days and in their policy it states it is allowed to be returned even after being tried out. It was my first visit and I just wasn't impressed. The store didn't have many customers and we walked the entire store only saw the one employee at the register. To ask a question about items in the back of the store we literally had to walk back to the front of the store. Although an item appeared to be in the store via the online store availability when I got to the store the item was unavailable. After being referred here from another Dick's store because they showed the bike I wanted in stock, we walked in and back to the bike area, looked around and didn't see anyone around, so I looked at the bike racks and found the bike I wanted. I proceeded to pull it off if the rack, set the seat up and began riding it around the store, mostly in hopes to draw attention to myself. They also had another bike I was considering, so I parked the first bike and pulled the second bike down and rode that around. About the time I got back to the bike area a gentleman appeared and said something about how he hadn't had lunch yet, and radioed for someone to come watch the bike area so he could eat. So the second guy shows up and sees me comparing the 2 bikes side by side and asks if I needed any help. I said yes, it's decision time and I'm looking to purchase one or the other of these 2. He said well.. one's a mountain bike and the other is more of a cross country bike. I went ahead and hopped on the original bike I came for and rode it down the aisle again, then came back and told him I'd take it. He wheeled the bike over to an area where there was a bike stand and some tools. He attempted to put the bike in the stand, but appeared to not know how to use the stand. He handed me a piece of paper to fill out, which was name, address, phone number etc. But then I got to the part about the safety check. I told him the handlebars were crooked and needed adjustment and that the derailleurs weren't working right and need some adjustments. He got out a couple of tools and began turning screws near the handlebars and then said he didn't know which one to turn. I said I did, and picked up the tools and did the adjustment myself. In the process of all of this I hear a woman scream loudly from behind him. I guess he hit her in the back with the handlebar accidentally. He asked if he hit her and she screamed yes! She then saw me standing there and explained that she had been working in her garden before work and that her back hurt. Then she disappeared. He hands me the paperwork I filled out, made it a point to tell me about the service plans and said I was all set. I asked him if he was going to check the derailleurs as the front one didn't seem to be quite right while I was riding around the store. About that time the first guy returns from his lunch and helps the second guy try to put the bike in the rack, neither one of them could figure out how to work the clamp so I did it for them. Once the bike was in the rack the second guy proceeds to spin the front wheel around and pull the brake a few times, then tell me the gears looked good to him. So, I begin pedaling and shifting gears, and the chain flies off the outside of the back cog. I tell them both that the H screw needs adjustment is why that happens. They look at each other and the second guy says neither one of us knows how to do that. I said oh OK I'll show you (I wasn't going to leave the place with an $1100 bike that the chain falls off of when you shift it) and asked them for a screwdriver. I proceed to do a complete tune up on the bike, and as I'm doing so the woman reappeared. The 3 of them are standing there asking each other if I'm supposed to be doing this. I overhear and tell them I used to be a bike tech years ago, so the first guy asks if I want to work there, which I turned down of course, then proceeds to tell me about how he had a guy scheduled today for the bike area but he showed up to orientation on Thursday and decided he'd rather be on unemployment. Once I was done we signed the paperwork that said the safety check was performed and my wife and I headed to the cashier to pay for the bike, which with the service plan and tax et all came to not quite $1100, the second guy was also the cashier interestingly enough. I proceeded out of the door and jumped on the bike to ride it to the truck, and noticed we forgot to check the air in the tires, I took care if that whenever I got home. If you buy your kids a bike here make sure you check it out thoroughly even though they say they do a safety check, it appears that they don't. You may want to go have it checked by a local shop. read more

Worst customer service in the area!!! When People criticize a store for poor customer service, it has to be taken with a grain of salt; but I have to say that this is the first time I have ever had multiple people at a location make you fully aware that they do not care about a customers experience. I have been to this location twice, and have yet to be approached by an employee to assist me. Normally this would not bother me, but when you are looking to purchase a firearm it is problematic. Although I would really like to vent, I will keep this short. I stopped in at Dick's Sporting Goods in Joliet IL. to look at rifles, I recently received a giftcard for Dicks, and was considering treating myself. After work on Friday my Wife and I stopped in, made our way towards the firearms counter and proceeded to look over what they had to offer. Over the course of 5 minutes I chose three items i wanted to look at and consider; around this time my wife and I realized that no store personnel had been anywhere near the area. After waiting a few more minutes I started to wander around looking for someone to assist us while my wife waited at the counter. After a few more minutes someone finally came out of the back room who appeared to be assisting someone. My wife waited while he completed the transaction and I made my way back. We both know that transactions for firearms can be a complex process so we waited at the counter, until he finished. During this time the sales clerk passed by us twice, and did not even acknowledge our presence. When the Paperwork for the other customer was completed , and the weapon he was purchasing checked, the clerk said he would escort him to the front checkout; again passing by us without so much as a glance. Mind you, at this point we had been in the store for over half an hour and not a single employee had spoken to us; even when we were within 10 feet of the person we wanted to speak to, he never so much as said, "I will be with you as soon as I can". At this point I decided, I would rather spend my money elsewhere, and decided to make another purchase with the gift card. When I made my way to the checkout, my wife told the checkout person, about the experience, and asked if there was a manager we could talk to, he ignored her, and proceeded to process my checkout. At that point I asked If I could get cash for the remainder on my giftcard, and to this he hemmed and hawed explaining no. Afterwords, we were both left with a feeling that not only were we slighted by the staff, but that the stores culture is incongruous to the image they try to portray for their brand. My wife felt that the store personnel are sexist, as her complaint was not even recognized. I felt that nobody working in the store believes that any customer shopping on a Friday night was worth their notice. Had I not been given a gift-card I would not want to give the store (or chain) any money. I will not return to this location; since I still have value on the giftcard, I will take it to a location that appreciates their clients, or just use it online where the service would be better. read more
