Dicks is a huge store. They have a lot of options but my family and I are not pleased with the quality of the merchandise.

Bad customer service, no one around to help. Finally found a couple workers sitting in a corner talking to themselves. Went to the register with 12 people in line with one cashier. read more

Nice store, great selection, good prices BUT at least 6 times I have driven there for an advertised item on the day the sale started and they didn't have any! I charged a firearm on Dick's credit card and 4 months in a row I had to call them for the exact same billing error! I cancelled the card. Their customer service ends with the friendly greeting when you walk and the people at the firearms counter (if you can find one) have been rude. Con't waste your time contacting customer service, they just don't care. Never again, Dick's are dicks. read more

I've had good experiences the last few times I've gone in. Entering through the golf area door there is always someone at the checkout register and if there's not an assistance visible pressing the customer assistant bottom on the back counter has always worked for me. I purchased a set of iron clubs with the assistance of a knowledgeable employee and the use of their computerized driving range. read more

Do not go to this store. Very horrible service. The gun dept. manager, Justin, was incompetent and his customer service skills were nonexistent. When I complained to the stores general manager, he was not available and did not call me back. Please do not patronize this store. Sports chalet and sports authority has better customer service. If you need to buy firearms or ammo, you would do much better at big 5, solar tactical in Livermore, or bullseye gun shop in Castro Valley. read more

Went in to purchase a Sole E35 Elliptical machine. Had to special order as they don't carry this model in stock. They told me it would take about two to three weeks to get in and then I would be called to set up appointment to have delivered and assembled. Much to my surprise I received a call in 7 days saying my elliptical was in. They had it delivered and assembled 3 days later. Great customer service! I will definitely purchase other items from Dick's. read more

James in the golf department helped me pick out a set of irons. He was very helpfull and actually steered me towards a cheaper set that was a better fit for me. read more

came in here on my way to a camping trip first impression was that this place is huge they have everything you can possibly think of all the stuff they have is top-of-the-line so things are quite a bit more money but they seem like everything is extremely well built I recommend this place read more

Sorry Sports Chalet and Sports Authority no comparison. Store has a great assortment and the staff was very knowledgeable especially since they are all new. I love the store and will be back for all my sporting needs. read more

Poor service. Left customers in a long line with few registers open. They don't respect their customer's time.

I was really excited when Dick's Sporting Goods opened up here. Unfortunately everything in this store is over priced. The employees don't seem to be knowledgeable about anything. One star is because it's a big store and they have a huge selection. But the don't think I will buy anything here. $36 for Reef flip flops? Sorry I can get them cheaper at World of Shoes or Nordstrom Rack. read more

Let me start by saying I love Dicks Sporting Goods! I'm a rewards card holder and shop here often. But when i buy something, especially if it has a Limited manufacturers warranty. I would expect a little something more then "sorry can't do anything for ya." I will never come to this location again! If I ever come to another Dick's Sporting Goods which is a shame because they have so much good stuff in one place, if you're an outdoorsy type of person like I am. I wouldn't recommend to any of my friends or anyone at all for that matter shopping here. Usually have great customer service but all it takes is 1 very poor experience to end a relationship. Sorry dick! Good luck to you. read more

The worst. Boxes everywhere. No one around. No inventory. No knowledge. Lights flickering like a disco The other lights out. Looks like it's about to close for business at 1 pm. Looks like oakland. Pathetic read more

Bad customer service. Couldn't get anyone who knew anything and the staff doesn't seem to care

These people need to work on their customer service. They are very rigid in their return policies. The young people they have making return decisions are inflexible and need to understand that in some cases, it's better to accept an return than loose a customer over a $5-$10 item. There are many other merchants in the area that are better focused on customer service and I would recommend looking at doing business with them. read more

The store has a pretty good selection. But today I came in right when they opened to purchase a lacrosse head so i can use it for tomorrows practice. The worker said the lacrosse head will be done before 9 o'clock tonight. I get that it takes long to get it strung in all but i came back to Dicks around 5 today and they didn't even start stringing it. It wasn't even touch and there were hardly anyone in the store. You would think that it would at least be started. So i decided to go back around 8:45 and it wasn't even close to being done. I wish i just strung it myself because it would of been a lot faster. read more

Overall great service and courteous staff. Had to find someone to tell me, but once I did service was great. Wonderful selection of shoes and sizes. I called ahead and even phone service was great. Highly recommend over Big 5 and Sport Authority. read more

This is long overdue from Black Friday 2013. Took my mother here to find sneakers as she was having trouble with her hip. Left her to look while I went over to Target and when I came back, was surprised that she hadn't tried anything on and was very frustrated because she couldn't find any shoes. My response was why didn't you get help to which she replied she had asked someone but he told her he couldn't find anything. There were no other customers in the shoe department and I finally found a worker who wasn't remotely interested in helping us. So, I tried to help her by finding shoes in her size. My mother is in her 60s which made me even more surprised that no one would help her. We left because of the poor service and I stopped at a register on my way out to provide feedback and was shocked at their response that they don't provide customer service in the shoe department and that we are supposed to serve ourselves. I will not shop there again and suggest they post a sign in their shoe department indicating that it's self serve only. I'm giving two stars only because they do have a decent selection and reasonable prices. read more

The service at this location is the worst! Went in today to buy a bike for my son for Christmas. After waiting in the bike department for 10 min, and seeing no employees, I went to the front of the store to ask for help. They called the manager who told me, "I don't have enough employees today, I don't have anyone who can sell you a bike. You'll have to come back tomorrow." What?! It's 2 weeks before Christmas and they haven't staffed employees to work? How about the manager? The bike is already put together. Why couldn't she sell it to me? Plus, I live 30 minutes away and don't want to come back tomorrow! I went out to my car and ordered it on Dick's website to be shipped to the store and paid with my credit card. About an hour later I checked my email and they had cancelled the transaction due to "lack of inventory" even though I saw the bike in the store and it was listed as being in stock when I checked out online. I literally think they just didn't want to deal with it and cancelled the sale. Unreal! I won't be back. read more

This store has a lot more variety of merchandise then any other Dick's Sporting Goods that I've been to. Customer service is horrible. I was at the store for 40 minutes trying to exchange slipper that I did not have a receipt for. I explained that it was a gift for my nephew and the size of the slipper was to small for his feet. I just wanted the same exact slipper just 2 sizes bigger. Cashier basically called me a lier by repeating herself that she does not have prove of where I got it from. Even though I explained to her at least four times. She said it's company policy and couldn't do an exchange. I asked to see the manager and he said go ahead and do the exchange. So she did lie to me.I thanked the manager for doing that.Went to get the right size slippers and came back to see that the cashier helping me was not there and it was a different cashier who did not know what's going on . So I told her that the manager had approved the exchange. As she is doing the transaction, she tells me that I owe $17 difference . This is again the same slipper in brand new condition and same price . This action by this store and company is called robbery. SHAME ON THEM ! A customer should be treated with respect when entering a store. This is bad customer service and the stars that this store has says a lot. read more

Two times I was in this store but wasn't able to try something, fitting rooms are locked and there is nobody around. This is not store, just exhibition! read more

no customer service. dont be fooled by the tv ads that this is the place to shop. i went to buy a golf bag and some store manager decided it was smart to put a majority of the bags on a shelf 12feet high. no help from anyone. i went to golf smith and was treated 100 times better. no longer will i shop at dicks. read more

Waited in shoe area quite some time, was ready to buy but no help. Looks nice but customer service seemed poor.

This place is terrible! What kind of sporting goods store doesn't have hockey equipment!

I never write reviews unless I have outstanding service....or really bad service. I would give a 1/2 star if I could, since they had what we were looking for. We went up to the register and it took a minimum 30 minutes before they could find a SKU and rang up my purchase. Brianna, our cashier that helped us, was doing her best to assist us. She called their Customer Service number and was given an incorrect SKU. She asked the assistant store manager, Ian, which it appeared he was too busy to assist his employee or myself, their customer. I heard him say, "Well, you're going to have to call the customer service number again" and walked off. The poor cashier called AGAIN and the customer service support told her that was the number she had and hung up on her! Isn't that crazy? No support from your own boss or customer service support number! 90% of the time Dublin Dicks employees are very unfriendly and not very attentive to any of your requests. Guy in shoes did not want to help with finding my shoe size, and was very clear about it. He said it's kind of a mess and it would be on the shelves....that I just needed to look. Really? I'm not sure if this is the same for all locations but most of the Dublin staff seem to live up to the name of this store! Hands down I would go out of my way to shop at Sports Authority and Sports Chalet than go back to Dicks! Poor customer service all around. Kudos to the cashier, Brianna, who did her best to locate the SKU, she was very apologetic and was very friendly. She has been the only positive experience I have had since Dicks in Dublin opened their doors. read more

Guy in the gun section was so busy talking to his girl friend that when I finally got his attention and asked him about a rifle for my girls in a particular calaber I couldn't get him out off the ammo cabinet. I told him on several occation I was looking for a rifle, a long gun. It finally clicked in his mind what I wanted...Dicks didn't have anything. Good help is hard to find! Not impressed. Save your money & go to Dom's. Support local small business. read more

Went looking for school shoes for my Son this Sunday afternoon. The salesman (name starts w/ A) was worthless. I asked for a shoe scale, he slide it over with his foot. My Son placed his right foot in the measurement tool on the left side. I commented this was incorrect and turned the device around myself. The salesman stood there, yawning. Next I got to loosen the laces on the new shoes, while the salesman stood there. My Son said the shoes were still tight. They had no other sizes in that style, so we went to Sports Chalet and bought three pairs; one for me, the Wife, and Son. The Salesman was very helpful and took us to the shoes on sale first. read more

Dick's will not be in business for many more years with a place like the Dublin store being open. Worst service I have ever had. Bought a reel rod combo and and realized the rod had a missing ceramic loop in the last eyelet. They told me to go to Abu Garcia and they would handle it. Funny I work in retail and I would never do this to a customer. We would return the flawed item back to the vendor and a get a credit. I did not want to RETURN IT I wanted it fixed. Dicks you aint gonna be around long....................... read more

Rude employee, indifferent store manager. I stopped there to look at firearms and spotted a shotgun that was on sale. The employee said that he cannot sell it since the manager is already left (it was 7pm) but they can put it on hold for me till tomorrow. OK, left my info and I went there next day. Nobody's in the firearms section, ringed the bell (actually some electronic signal to call for assistance), no response. After waiting for a while I checked the room next to the firearms section and found the employee named Tim (who also acts as a gunsmith there) there doing some fishing reels, unspooling the line. Knocked the glass door and asked if he can help me, he said no, he's busy. I asked for how long, he said another 30 mins at least, maybe more. He also said no one in a whole store can help me, except for him, so I have to wait. I offered him some help to speed up his work but he declined. He was clearly upset by something and did not talk friendly. OK, so In a couple of mins I knocked again - since I wanted to ask him if he can schedule some particular time for me to come (I could not spend hours there) - but he just turned his back to me and showed me a finger. So I asked a store manager to stop by and talked to him. The store manager (Daniel, as far as I remember) indifferently apologized for the "experience" and, after talking to Tim, said that nothing can be done. It all looked more as "F you customer, we do not care" rather than "How can I help you". OK, so I wished them good luck and left... I do not plan to have business with them anymore (I bought 3 rifles there before) since there are plenty of other places to buy firearms around, with employees who do care about their customers. read more

Usually I don't have anything bad to say about Dick's, but this time is way different. My husband ordered a putter online for my Father as a Thank You present. We were very excited because it's the club that he wanted. We received the club in the mail and it was wrapped great. Took the wrapping off and it had the wrong club cover on it which fine whatever I doubt my Dad will leave it on there, but then we took the cover off to make sure it was a left handed club and it was, but the crappy part was there were dings and scratches all over it. We were very disappointed, but luckily we live close enough to this Dicks that we decided just to take it there and hope that they live up to past expieriences and help us out. My husband took it in and they did NOTHING! Didn't offer to replace that club with the same make and model and send us on our way or even give us a credit of any amount. All they did was say you can buy the next model up which is $50 more. Thats all fine and dandy, but what about the fact that this was the club we wanted and you sent us a damaged one. The only thing they did do right was say sorry. Needless to say we left the store and left the club there. I have heard of other people who have ordered online and have gotten two different sized shoes and they went in and they fixed it. I wasn't thinking they were going to give us the new model for what we paid for last years model, but at least give us the same club! WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! read more

I walked in with a rifle scope I had purchased from Dick's earlier, along with the receipt and in a Dick's bag to exchange it for a more expensive one. I was told by the cashier that they couldn't take the scope back because I didn't have the hard, rigid plastic that the scope had come in. I asked to speak to the manager, because I had spent close to $2000.00 at Dick's on rifles, scopes, rifle cases, and ammo. The manager spoke to the cashier for a few moments, then the cashier hung up. I asked if he was coming out to talk to me and the cashier said no, he had just confirmed that they couldn't exchange it. I asked him for a scissors and he handed me a pair, at which point I took my Dick's credit card out of my wallet and snipped it into tiny pieces that dropped into the bag as a sizable crowd of shoppers watched. I turned around and said to them make damn sure you know how bad their return policy is before you buy anything. Dick' sucks- they lost a major customer over a $90.00 scope. read more

Did you know that it takes AT LEAST 30 minutes to pick up a firearm after the 10-day holding??? It doesnt in reality, but thats what they told me since it was close to closing. Nevermind that I had to walk the store to find someone to help me, which ate more time. Then we called and the manager after leaving the store, and he said it would take 30 min too! When we asked why so long, the reason we got was because there might be only one person working the back and they might be helping someone else. Really?!besides being a BS response, when I was in there, no one was there, including their staff. Oh, and they close the firearms section 30 min before closing. No one ever mentioned that. The manager didnt think that was something they needed to let their customers know. Wont be shopping here again. I guess the store name is fitting. When I went back again to pick it up, it took 10 minutes. NEVER buying from here. read more

I have to give a shout out to Jim in the bicycle department. My family was there yesterday and found a bike we wanted to purchase. There was a lot going on in the bike department - several people waiting for Jim's attention to either get a question answered, or to order a bike, etc. People were coming at him at all sides! I was so impressed by how Jim handled himself and the customers. He was very calm, acknowledged each person, explained when he could respond to each of us, and efficiently did his job. As a result, even with the small crowd, the customers were patient and friendly, and we all got helped exactly when Jim said we would. He also knew a lot about the bikes and was very patient with my husband (an analytical engineer mind) as he asked so many detailed questions. On top of it all, we got an excellent price for my new bike! Not only was it on sale, there was an extra 20% off at the register. I'm a happy camper! read more

Worst place to do business my wife went to buy a sunglasses for me for Father's Day and they did have some scratches on them when I went to the store the manager TOM did not do anything about it the first thing that he told me was that it was unusual for the sunglasses to b scratched in a couple of days of use then he says that he's been wearing Oakley sunglasses his whole life after checking them he told me that he was going to change them that's when he come and told me that he didn't have those type of sunglasses on the store and he insinuate that we got the sunglasses somewhere else and implied that we are trying to make fraud I can bet anything that if i was a Caucasian he would have change them for a different ones or give me my money back but he didn't maybe because I'm Hispanic well I would never buy anything there and would tell all my friends about it hope corporate can do something about it that's not a way to treat costumers read more
