Insult to the consumer's intelligence.They have managed to come up with a new trick! They no longer show the consumer the transaction details at the checkout as they are scanning the items. They expect you to just pay blindly and not ask questions. They don't hand you the receipt over either. So you have to pay, get out of line and if there is a mistake they just made, you have to wait back in line to go to - more likely a different register for them to address it. I have seriously given up on this place. Not sure why I go back but I went in to check what selections they had for running jackets and it was a disgrace. The departments are a confusing mess with things scattered all over the store in no real sequence and the sales people are the worst. They have no clue where anything is. Plus the inventory here is mostly smaller sizes and obscure selections of tops and bottoms. The website is just as bad. I think I will give my business to Citysports or Amazon. Went looking for a beginner's golf set for myself today, and when we asked where the ladies clubs were we were told "oh we have that one set. We don't carry much for women." One set??? ONE?? Large store with every option/brands possible. My biggest problem is the sale items. When you have large SALE signs offering item that aren't really on sale you can get a little irritated. Three items that were on ranks that clearly stated SALE were in fact not for sale at all. read more

Been in a few times now. Terrible customer service and misleading. The last time, and I mean it will be my last, I bought a tent. On the rack it said a price, I got home and noticed on the reciept that I paid $25 more. I looked up the tent on there website and noticed that too was $25 cheaper, so I went back. The teen at the service desk was a complete idiot (and I hate to say it, but true) and had an attitude. I think he said, "Um, ok, ah, what would you like me to do?" Really? I told him the whole story, again, and said I'd like the refund. He went off to the tent section and came back saying that I paid the correct price. I told him to check online. He didn't. He instead called a manager and told me to wait. While I stood there waiting, I saw a flyer. Guess what? That very tent was on the front page, for the same price as online!! I showed it to the teen and he wouldn't even look at it! He just walked away saying someone would be with me. I did get my money back, with no apology from Anyone. Stopped by Dick's to check out their kayaks because they were running a sale. We did not see all the sale models on the floor. Several empty slots - maybe they were sold out. Decided to ask a sales associate...glad we did. The sales associate's name was Jay. He went above and beyond - by checking the back stock room for the other model we were interested in. There were 3 in the back storage...he lugged one out for us to compare. Though, we ended up getting the other floor model...he was cool about it. He helped us with life vests, paddles and other misc item. Awesome service all around! read more

Great selection, its cool they have guns and fishing rods, but I got 2 words,,,,Used Sneakers!!! I dropper 109.99+tax on new Nikes, didn't try um on cause I knew they'd fit, get um home and they look like they've been worn for a week or two on Pavement! It's a large store, but there are very few customers inside shopping. The reason? Dick's prices are very high, and I've never seen them have a sale of any kind. The layout is neat, but with the amount of traffic that this store has, I think it's just a matter of time before it closes. Please find some where else to shop! I make the mistake of stopping in here once a year and it's always terrible and expensive.. The cashier could have cared less and basically ignored me when I had a question about the price of a shirt. It was in the 50% off rack but apparently I had to look at the barcode for specific numbers to determine whether or not it was on sale. Seriously? How about you just don't put those shirts on the rack with the huge 50% sign?? Dick's I'll give you 5 stars for sneaky sales practices. Don't consider Dick's if you are claustrophobic, have to be somewhere else in the next five hours, or appreciate the feel of a store that is happy you're shopping there. Once you're in the store, you're *in;* there's no leaving without going through a massive, unfriendly maze and the register lines. This morning I went in to return an item and after getting to what I thought was the end of the line of about fifteen waiting for ONE open register, I discovered I'd not maneuvered through the maze properly and was actually at the front of the line. By the time I got it right two more people were in line in front of me. I'm going back ONE MORE TIME...as soon as they open, hoping for a semi-short line, to return my item. I will then never again set foot in Dick's Sporting Goods. read more

I have only wrote 5 reviews before and I hate writing them but in this case it is necessary. I ordered a firearm paid for it. They called me and told me to come pick it up. I get there they say we can't sell u this firearm so I ask why he says I don't no I say what do you mean u don't no .so he gives me the number for customer service. Oh by the way the sale was stop at the store not from the government. I talk to customer service she had no clue so she finally calls me back. She tells me that the store thinks this is a straw sale I said what the hell is a straw sale. She tells me they think I'm buying this firearm for someone else. Who the hell do dicks think they are. I ask them how they came to this decision they had no answers. It is a violation of my constitutional rights I will also be sending a email to the NRA and comm2a. Awful experience. My boyfriend and I went in to look at bikes and the bike we wanted needed to be fixed so they said they'd call us in a few days and let us know if it could fixed. 4 days later I called because we hadn't heard from them and the guy I spoke to said he hadn't looked at it and didn't know when he'd be able to. I called again 3 days later and it still hadn't been looked at and they probably wouldn't get to it for another few days. It's been 2 weeks and they still haven't called. I will never return to this location or recommend it to anyone. They lost a sale for extremely poor customer service. read more

As other folks pointed out, unless you know what you want or you are the type who does not need a stranger's opinion this is not your store. Good selection compared to smaller stores, it is the walmart of sports stores in the area. The one star is for another reason: only few stores have a customer service team that makes a point to do as least as possible for as long as possible. this is one of them. I mean, I did not ask to hold my hand, I just wanted to buy some cotton socks... guy sent me across the store, while the bin was two steps away. I had to interrogate every imbecile around the store to squeeze an answer. I found it on my own in the end. Who knows, maybe it was just a Wednesday after 6pm - a graveyard shift for Dick's. Went to Dick's to buy a bike for my teenage son. He found the bike that he wanted ($500.00+). Asked the guy in the department for help. He said he would be right back. 20 minutes later, we saw him in the shoe department stacking shoes!!! Left there and went to Sports Authority in Westwood where they immediately helped us, and did a price match. Had wonderful service there. Dick's Sporting Goods carrying a lot good sport equipments. So Sport Authority or any Sporting Goods shop. The customer services are terrible. I don't write a bad view in life yet but this time I have too. I ordered two tennis racquet to ship it from Saugus, MA to Dedham, MA. They got one out of the two correct. Sales representative promised me that they will overnight and they will contact me at soon as it arrived. The item arrived but no call like the first time. I called, waiting in the phone over twenty minutes, someone answered the phone, informed me that she will transfered and couple minutes later someone hung up the phone. I called back, waited for 5 minutes, a lady answer the phone, she admitted that was her, she too busy with bicycle, put me back on hold for 5 minutes, a gentleman answered, he has not clue what is going on, put me back on hold, another minutes later another lady answered the phone, put me back on hold another five minutes and finally a manager answered phone admitted that the item arrived and sit in the manager office but no one bother to check. I thought sitting and waiting at the doctor office is a nightmare, DICK'S SPORTING GOOD customer services not much different. Think twice before you make that phone call or choose to due business with them. read more
