If you don't, I'm here to help you out... for those of you that think that the California based In-N-Out Burger is the be-all to end-all, I'm here to tell you you need to try dicks drive-in. Diners tip: their approach to how they make their food, it's similar to that Seinfeld episode with the soup man. You get what you get, and you don't have a fit. There's absolutely no changing the way they make their burgers. You order the way you see it on the menu. I'm here to tell you, I always get my burgers without lettuce, and in this case, did not have a choice. Everything about my cheeseburger was absolutely fantastic. This is totally cheap eats, but really good eats. The prices are so freaking unbelievably low, you'll probably end up staring at the menu sign thinking that you may have read the price's wrong. I ordered the deluxe cheeseburger. It's a quarter pounder burger that's made into two individual patties. If you are a hearty eater, you can easily down a couple of those bad boys. The fries are even fabulous. The fry order by itself is relatively small so if you're not interested in something super huge, it's definitely the perfect meal. So I mention how incredibly delicious the cheeseburger was?! They call it chopped pickles but I'm pretty sure it's some type of relish mixed in as part of the condiments they put on the burger. Whatever it is, just eat the damn thing because it's so delicious. They definitely have options on the menu if you are a food wuss, and you just want basic/plain. The one thing that made me laugh is that they impose what apparently is a local ordinance tax when you buy a soft drink that has sugar in it. Yes, if you order a diet drink, you don't pay the sugar fee. I really wanted to try one of the shakes. The person next to me ordered one, and it looked divine. Have been here about 15 times. Although I am not a fan, people around me me request these burgers, The hamburgers are bland and greasy. The fries are undercooked and limp. The shakes lack any flavor of what you are ordering; the worst chocolate shake I have ever had. Absolutely no chocolate flavor at all. Fastest service I think I have ever experienced anywhere! Needed a quick bite to eat (it was very late, after 1 am) and we were starving. Found this Dicks on the way to our hotel and it did not disappoint. Burgers and fries were delicious, service was fast, and it was cheap! All the things you could want in one place! This looked like a place for the younger crowd (college-ish age) or it also could've been because it was already very late and middle aged people my age are already sleeping!! Line had about 10 people in it but everyone social distances, wears masks, and the line moved very fast. Definitely check this place out if you're in need of a quick bite!!! read more

Dick's is a Seattle staple! As a Bay Area native, In N Out is still better, but Dick's is a different vibe! Dick's is a go-to late night munchies meal :) or just a quick grab to eat (usually). I came by relatively late, around midnight, and there was a bit of a crowd, so it took close to 15-20 min to actually get food on hand and out of the lot. I opted to get 2 cheeseburgers, 2 fries and a large drink (there's still the sugar tax in WA) and the "large" drink looked really small to me haha..maybe was given a wrong size. Still, fries are a lot better than In N Out. The deluxe is the two patty two cheese burger, but the mayo (sauce) is what throws me off. It is a weird sweet/tangy taste that is definitely acquired, so I just stick to the cheeseburgers. Parking lot out front, usually should not have an issue. Good spot for a quick bite! Dick's is the quickest out of the three with halfway decent burgers, but their fries are a limpier than In-N-Out. What can I say about Dick's Drive-In? They are VERY VERY VERY BUSY!!!! We visited close to 11pm, and the place was hopping with customers. Seriously, there were at least 6 people lined up at each of the walk-up windows. I believe there were at least 6 lines. Pretty darn impressive! They cook up some decent food at affordable prices. My Cheeseburger was okay. My Strawberry shake was also alright. Honestly, I was not impressed with the food at this Seattle institution. I would not go out of my way to come here again. I recently took a trip to Seattle and decided to try this place where all of the locals flock to. I wanted to see what the hype was about and if it measured up to my dear old in n out. I'm happy to report that the burgers, fries and shakes at Dick's are top notch. Maybe it's best not to compare but instead to say that each burger has its own take. Dick's comes out swinging with a tasty patty that is made from quality meat, fresh bun and ingredients. I like how they added pickles and mustard to their burgers which add a nice tangy flavor. Coming from California, where we have In n Out, Five Guys, the Habit...how was this place going to compare? It seemed to be a more jank Mcdonald's. But it was late at night, and this was the closest thing that was open so why not give it a shot. First off, this location doesn't have an indoor seating area. Unless you want to eat outside where there's no cover from the sun/rain, then you'll have to eat in the car or take it to go. Second, everything is pre made. At least my burger wasn't made fresh. I was watching the workers prep my order and just saw them grab a burger out of a metal tray. I remember feeling kind of disappointed. i also thought it was really interesting how they charge you for condiments but it's only 5 cents so it's not too bad. Dick's Deluxe: I have to say I was pleasantly surprised, it did look kind of sad when I unwrapped it but the taste was better than its appearance. For the price we paid, it could've tasted a lot worse. Fries: Fries were whatever, it seemed like they were also cooked ahead of time. They were very soggy but tasted fine. My wife and I dropped in for a quick bite during our visit to Seattle and Dick's Drive-In lived up to whatever positive reviews I've read about fast food restaurants in the city. We rolled up to the parking lot surrounding the restaurant and took a spot right in front of the legendary local joint. There was a good amount of people waiting in line already and consistently throughout the 30 minutes we spent there. We both ordered a Dick's Deluxe with a side of French Fries and a drink (a strawberry milkshake for me and a root beer float for her). Dick's made it very easy for us as everything was just 1 size, so there was no small, medium or large. The burger was around $3.40, the fries were $1.90 and the shake was $2.70, so everything was very reasonably priced. The food was ready within a matter of a minute. Since there were no tables or seats, we took our loot back to our car and ate in the parking lot. Although that sounds sad, this is a drive-in after all. The burger was juicy, meaty and a reasonable size. The fries were our favorite from the meal though. They were obviously freshly cut and ohhh so good. Some soft pieces, some a bit crunchy. My strawberry milkshake was exactly what I needed to wash it down. It was thick at first, but quickly melted, and was a tasty fast food milkshake. Dicks is clearly a staple of Seattle, it's just what you'd expect a good ol cheeseburger would be. There are zero frills here, you get what you pay for and leave satisfied. The service is quick and efficient. The lines look long but go quickly. This is a walk up window service and you eat either standing around or at your car. This location is very close to the college and very frequented by the students. It's a terrific place to go when you've been out having drinks with friends and need to get some grub. Ever since I was in high school, Dick's was a spot you could go to pick up some burgers without breaking the bank. This location is great because it has ample parking and multiple service windows helping people at one time. Even at odd-hours during the day, there is always a healthy amount of customers stopping in to pick up food to take to their next destination. The menu isn't extensive and the food doesn't offer a ton of frills. Just old fashioned nostalgia served in greasy wrappings with the toppings falling out with every bite.The burgers are standard, and though I haven't had them while intoxicated, I've heard they're the perfect drunk food late at night. Though it comes in two sizes, the double pattied version isn't gigantic, so you'll be satisfied, but not carrying it around with you for the rest of the day. Service isn't the warmest, but they get you in and out pretty quick.
