Authentic since 1954. Burgers, fries, shakes, thats it. No indoor seating. Fresh never frozen.

50s style walk up burger joint! Shakes, burgers and fries, what more could you ask for! The burger is yummy, cheese is gooey and bun is soft! The deluxe has a sweet relish so choose to leave that off or not depending on preference. Fries are fresh cut and similar to Wendy's. Yummy! Service was friendly and very very fast! Overall good experience!

We were visiting Seattle and stopped by this nice old school burger place. It's really nice. The service is good and the food is as well. The star of the show were the French fries and tartare sauce. So yummy . Please try the root beer as it is the best I had ever had. My daughter had the mint chocolate chip sundae with butterscotch. The food came out fast! I would prefer it over the larger chain burger placed. Go check them out.

Second time at Dicks, but 1st time at this location. This location was much better than the other location. The burger was much better. I love the sauce they use, its different than other burger places, who use 1000 island type sauce. Dick's pickle base sauce is just different and good. The ice cream was great the huckleberry ice cream was very good. The service was good and friendly.

We were told Dick's Drive In is the local fast food burger joint to try. You park, walk up, order, and leave. No tables. Simple menu with 6 types of burgers ranging from $2.45 to $5.30, fries, ice cream, shakes and sodas. No combos, all a la carte. We got the 1/4 pounder deluxe which had two thin patties, cheese, lettuce, mayo and chopped pickles. I hate pickles but it was so well disguised by being chopped like relish and that sauce was the best part for me. The bun was soft. Also got the fries. Loved it. It's like, if McD and In n Out had a baby. Condiments cost extra and it comes in a container. Just a basic inexpensive burger that tastes so good! Definitely coming back another day.

Okay so I lived in Washington for my first 25 years and never tried dicks. I know, don't judge me. I just never got around to trying it and didn't care to go out of my way. With that said, I have a few thoughts. I personally think the burger itself is over hyped. People have told me it's one of the best fast food burgers in the greater Seattle area, and I think they were saying that based on pride. Like it was good, but not the best thing I've ever had. With that said, I do think the bang for the buck is pretty darn good. The deluxe is a solid amount for $5, especially these days. Compare that to other fast food places and it's right on par with what you'd get. Plus, dicks does a lot for the community and always gives back. It's a worth a visit just because of that. I'm happy to try i finally tried dicks and although it's not the best, it's definitely solid and a reliable stop for a meal.

3 - Meh, not horrible, but not worth a second trip Dick's Drive-In - Kent, WA Stopped by Dick's in Kent to try the classic experience--50s-style burger joint with no indoor seating. You order at the window and either take it to go or eat in your car. The service was friendly and the place was impressively clean, which I appreciated. I ordered the Dick's Deluxe Burger, which is a quarter-pounder made with two 1/8 lb patties, mayo, chopped pickles, and lettuce. Honestly? It was mediocre at best. Nothing bad, but nothing memorable either--just a pretty underwhelming burger overall. What really surprised me was that they charge 20 cents for ketchup. Not a dealbreaker, but it definitely left a weird impression. In a world where most places toss in a few packets for free, it felt unnecessarily stingy. Not a terrible experience, but nothing that makes me want to come back. If you're into the nostalgia factor, maybe it's worth a stop--but for me, it was a one-and-done.

First time trying this place after hearing its Seattle's in n out. I would say it's decent but not a place you must have. I'm glad I tried it and if it was next door to my hotel I'd try it again for convenience but I wouldn't go out of my way again. Fries are seasoned well but they don't have ranch so if you love fries and ranch like I do then keep that in mind. 1/4 deluxe burger is decent. It's on the smaller side, about the size of a double cheeseburger from McDonald's so if you have a big appetite you might need more than one.

Eater Seattle claims this local burger shop as one of its favorites for takeout. Wanting to try something local and iconic, I bookmarked this location because it is the closest to the airport. Upon arrival, I was excited to see a retro midcentury design with an open kitchen concept and a large parking space to dine in the car. I would give a thumbs-up to the service. When I explained it was my first time trying it, the server recommended trying the shake. What I ordered: DICK'S SPECIAL (One Patty, Lettuce, Mayo, Chopped Pickle) - The order came out quickly in a big brown bag. The burgers were neatly wrapped, and while I appreciated the soft buns, the burgers did not bring much excitement, as I felt they lacked depth in flavor. It honestly felt like a one-and-done experience visiting the city. KETCHUP--NOT FREE. I paid $0.44 for two, and they came in neatly sealed plastic containers. FRENCH FRIES - The fries were overcooked and a bit flimsy. VANILLA SHAKE - The shake was tasty and comparable to the shakes from In-N-Out. About three-fourths of the way through, I poured hot Americano into it, and it tasted like sweet coffee.

Several people said we had to try Dicks before leaving Seattle. After eating there not sure why. Service is very fast but it's hard to hear through tiny windows. It's easy to order though since they only have 5 items. We had the deluxe, fries and chocolate shakes. The amount of sauce on the burgers is crazy. It just oozes out and makes a mess. The fries are greasy and limp. Shake was thick but little chocolate flavor. Not sure I need to come back.

The signature bags of Dicks. Deluxe and fries of course!

If you are a fan of Dick's Drive in (and many people who live in Seattle definitely are) then Kent is your destination!! From the SeaTac airport, drive down southbound I-5, and hang a right on exit 149, then southbound again on Pacific Highway. Keep driving until you see the Dick's Drive In sign! Yes, you will go out of your way, like I do. And, oddly, it's not as far away as you think. You do have to some street maneuvering to get there, as it's not a quick turnaround to get there if you are driving southbound, but it's manageable. I'm not sure how busy it is on weeknights, but for sure, it can be crowded on a Friday or Saturday night. And it won't fail you if you want to get there before 2am if you are needing that Dick's Deluxe burger with special-fry sauce. And make sure you time your journey accordingly, because when you order your fries, you want to make sure they are still nice and hot - the draw back of making fries with fresh potatoes every day. I personally don't get shakes with my burgers, but like all other locations, they have them and they are efficient when getting them out, and they are just as tasty in Kent, as they are in every other location that Dick's has a store. So, when you are in Kent, you know where to go! No explanation needed. It's Dick's!

    Burger menu

After a long flight with limited food options in the evening, Dick's drive-in was a solid choice. You can't go wrong with burgers, fries, and shakes. It's simple, satisfying, and super affordable. They get your order out fast, which is probably why they don't allow customizations to the burgers. I was a bit bummed that I couldn't get a plain cheeseburger with just lettuce, and they didn't have a plain cheeseburger at all. It's likely because everything is premade. Still, the burger, fries, and shake really hit the spot. There's no seating, so it felt like an old-school drive-in experience. I honestly can't remember the last time I ate in a car. Good thing it was a rental!

The menu is huge, with plenty of Greek, Jordanian, Turkish, Yemeni, and other classic Mediterranean entrees, sides, desserts, and drinks. I got the hummus mix, a chicken shawarma plate, and Karak tea. Everything was fantastic! The portions were huge so I have plenty of leftovers for future meals and snacks. The hummus was absolutely a standout, with delicious ratios of creamy chickpeas and tangy tahini, garlic, and fresh veggies on top. The Karak tea was a perfect balance of sweet and spiced flavors, absolutely a must try if you like chai or similar spiced coffees/teas. The shawarma plate had fresh veggies, even more hummus, and tons of chicken and rice. Everything was well cooked and delicious. The service was very fast, and the employee I talked to was so friendly! He gave me a free maple donut to snack on while I waited for my to-go order. It paired very nicely with the delicious Karak tea. Inside, the restaurant is very clean and home-y with nice decorations and lots of tables. I will 100% be back here! The menu is large with plenty of vegetarian options alongside the typical meat shawarma plates, gyros, and sandwiches. They also have a wide selection of donuts, sweets, and American food if someone in your group isn't a huge fan of Mediterranean. The parking lot is small and it can be easy to drive past the turn in, but don't skip it! I will be back!

This classic, no-frills spot carries a nostalgic charm, with a casual, welcoming atmosphere that makes it feel like a staple of the community. It's the kind of place where the focus isn't on trends or presentation, but on delivering satisfying, flavorful food that keeps people coming back. The Hamburger perfectly captures that philosophy. It's simple--nothing overly dressed up or complicated--but that's exactly what makes it shine. The patty is cooked well, with a satisfying sear that brings out the natural flavor of the beef, while the bun and toppings complement rather than overwhelm. Every bite feels balanced, familiar, and genuinely delicious, like a reminder of how good a straightforward burger can be when it's done right. The California Burger steps things up with a more layered flavor profile. The meat is cooked just right--juicy, tender, and full of flavor--and paired with fresh toppings that add both texture and brightness. There's a satisfying richness to it, but it never feels too heavy. Each component works together seamlessly, creating a burger that feels indulgent without losing that classic drive-in appeal. Another standout is the Onion Burger, which might be the most memorable of the bunch. The patty is cooked to a juicy perfection, locking in flavor with every bite. What truly elevates it, though, are the caramelized onions. They're soft, slightly sweet, and deeply savory, blending into the burger in a way that feels effortless. The combination of the rich beef and the perfectly cooked onions creates a harmony that's hard to beat. Not everything hits the same high note, however. The Calamari Rings were a bit of a letdown. There was a slightly off-putting seafood smell that took away from the experience, and the breading felt excessive--so much so that it would fall off easily. On top of that, they leaned a bit too greasy, making them heavier than expected and lacking the crisp, clean bite that good calamari should have. Despite that one misstep, The Family Drive-In excels where it matters most. It delivers consistently great burgers that highlight quality, simplicity, and flavor. For anyone craving a classic drive-in experience with satisfying, well-executed burgers, this spot is an easy recommendation and well worth the visit.
