This was my first ever visit in a Dickey's restaurant. I had signed up for their email last year and hadn't gotten around to trying them. On my birthday, I received a "FREE SANDWICH" coupon and thought it was the perfect time to give them a try. WOW! SO GLAD I DID! Upon entering, I was warmly greeted by a number of the workers. They were all so friendly. The look/atmosphere is AWESOME. I absolutely love the chalkboard walls, dark ceiling, rough wood, white subway tiles with dark grout, cook lighting, tables and chairs. I ordered a chopped brisket sandwich with a side of onions and pickles. Order came up super fast and I took it to go. I have to say, the flavor of the sandwich was AMAZING. I loved the raw onion on the sandwich. I shared the sandwich with my husband (who has had Dickey's numerous times). I totally need to come back and have brisket all to myself! The food was ok. They brought wrong order to me. Told them, 6 other people came in and got their order. I went and asked about mine. I was told, I can't find receipt in system. I said, I have mine if that will get me my food. So they took it and 15 min later I had my cold bbq. Idk what their plan was since he couldn't find receipt. Guess just forget about me. Went to make me ice cream cone after. It doubled up on the cone and then immediately just slumped down all over my hand. INSTANTLY!! Like was wasn't being made right in machine. Haven't been here in forever and now I remember why I stopped going in the first place. We went thru the drive there to get a load baked potato and received a dry-burnt potato with cold pulled pork on top of it. When I called they to just let them know they made the excuse of it being from the smoker and the cold toppings (which were under the meat) causing the meat to be cold. Man dickeys just can't seem to get it together. Brisket drier than a west Texas summer. Cold fries, even colder onion strings, the only fresh here is the ice. I really can't, I don't know what to say. It used to be decent but now it's just a waste of time and money. The free ice cream just doesn't make up for the $40 meal. I love a good bbq place but this is not it. The place I wanted to try was closed when I showed up so I ordered food from here since I had bbq on the brain. I got the 2 meat combo with ribs and brisket, both meats were extremely dry and they forgot my pickles. Look, the food is okay but the portions aren't big enough to reflect the price. I paid 28 dollars for a 2 meat plate. The portions for the meat were tiny! I mean less than 1/4 lb and I'm guessing on that but I was really hoping for a lot of protein but I guess I'll be having to cook my own at home. I expect something special for 28 dollars. And yes I understand bbq isn't cheap but if I brought my family I'd be paying over 125 to feed them . Inflation nation has set in. Tasteless, overcooked, brisket. Oily, greasy, sausage. The girl at the window who's missing a tooth, had an attitude problem, giving good customer service wasn't her priority. How can you make bbq taste so bad.. the only way it's edible is if you douse it with bbq sauce. read more

I ordered using Door Dash.. Got the GIANT loaded potato... Not giant by normal people standards.. While they did put ample toppings, it would have been nice if the potato itself was cooked fully. At $15 bucks, save your money and go elsewhere. If you're going to do wings do them right or just stick with BBQ. Had lunch there yesterday. The "wings" were very small (maybe a pigeon?). Over cooked and all the flavor gone. At $17 for 12 so called wings, you better step up your game! Honestly have always liked your food but this is a deal breaker. My family and I came here the other day to show my boyfriend what Texas barbeque is all about...we went to the wrong place, but it was delicious. I would definitely not call what Dickey's has going on here "authentic" but it is tasty. The potato salad is total crap, they shouldn't even bother making it but they do have a baked potato casserole type side which is good...not what I want when eating bbq but good. I had brisket which was good, it was very tender and moist which isn't what I usually expect from bbq, I also had sausage which I'd probably not ever order again. My boyfriend had chicken which looked like the precooked chicken that you can buy for salads at any grocery store, I'm not sure that I'd ever spend money on that again either.. The mac & cheese is decent and they have complimentary ice cream which tastes homemade, that was delicious. I lived in Dallas for 12 years and certainly had my share of Dickey's Barbecue. It was always hit and miss but the sauce was good and there were several locations making it accessible. I liked the variety of "sides" and if you talked nice to the meat cutter he would pull out the ribs that were not dried out. Enter Midland. Is that food even cooked here or is it "boil in the bag" after it arrives from Dallas? Just asking. It doesn't have the full menu here that is offered there for sure nor is it even close to being as good. Sometimes the bigger you get does not mean the better. No, even though it is closer to my house, I will drive out to get the real deal when I was Barbecue. I am so sorry to say this as we NEED good food in Midland. read more

Let's start this off right. I got here by going to burgers, fries, and cherry pies... Which is next door, but they were PACKED. I should have waited.... I don't mind spending $30 for me and my daughter eat, but I have expectations at that price range that were not even close to what I got. There was only outdorr seating, but it wasn't too hot, so waited outside for our lunch. The brisket was over 50% fatty gristle that is just not eatable. The sausage was actually decent and the only reason for the second star. The cashier took her time while I ordered to make certain that I had my own special rudness handed to me thoroughly.... I will wait next time I am in town and standing next door.... Pissed me off to spend $15 a person for lunch and get this. Call it cheap, but I am what I al... Ok. I know they are huge chain. But they are consistent with their baroque. You know what you are getting. Down to the bread you get. And don't forget your ice cream. This place is / was new. They are the new kid on the block. They have hired a great staff. And service is great. Sometimes you have to wait in line. But the line moves quickly. I'm a fan of the brisket. We asked for the pickles and onions to be put on the side. when we got home, no pickles or onions. And the peach cobbler was burnt crust and no fruit. Not impressed. Fast food! To start the drive thru menu board is so far away i could read it. $21 without a drink. The classic sandwich with sliced brisket was so dry and flavorless I couldn't eat it. Dry brisket on dry bread, I had to go to dollar general and buy some bbq sauce. The picture shows pickles and onions with sauce, I guess that would have cost extra.
