Been awhile since we've ventured to Dickey's and apparently it's been a while for many people. Food is still decent, but the facility is very run down. The ceiling tiles look horrible. Staff was nice and food was served relatively quickly and it was tasty. Free ice cream machine was leaking and I didn't check to see if it actually worked. We haven't visited Dickey's in a bit. Appears it may be under new management these days. The restaurant was pretty empty. It was clean. Ordering was easy and food was prepared relatively quickly. Portion sizes could have been a bit bigger, but overall the food was good. Certainly not as I remember. We ordered the 2 meat plate with beef brisket and puled pork with brisket chili and barbecue beans and a chicken sandwich combo with a side of mac and cheese and a drink. This is the 10th time we have ordered dickeys since this inception in Kenosha, tonight 10/13/24 was first time they gave us a small portion on brisket and sausage in our large loaded baked potatoes. While we are waiting for our order at 615pm the employee's container had 32 oz of meat while our potatoes had 2.5-3 oz of meat. We are disappointed and we wont be back. At least hide your employees portions while you are open for business. $15 dollars with tax for a freaking potato with no meat!! Good luck. read more

We popped in here one hungry wintery evening and we are happy we did. My SO and I each ordered a 2 meat plate so we could share and try a bunch of items. We ordered pulled pork, chopped brisket, smoked Turkey, and ribs for the meats. And for the sides, we ordered Mac & cheese, fried okra, baked potato casserole, and baked beans. All were good, especially the okra, which was delicious - crunchy& great seasoning- Yum!! The price per plate was around $15 and did some with cornbread. Overall, we really really liked it. The only suggestion I would have is maybe to increase portion sizes just a little bit - of even just the sides. I was still a little bit hungry and probably would have preferred a little more food. I would say for lunch, the portion was perfect. (I think during non-Covid times, they have free ice cream- this would have been amazing! But due to Covid the soft serve machine was not in use. Hopefully they can bring it back soon!) If you're in the area, and looking for good Smoked food, I would definitely recommend giving Dickey's a try. I'm a sucker for the fried okra and onion tangles. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich plate and my husband got the same. Ordering was different than most Dickies but we didn't mind it. Allowing inflation the serving size was smaller and not real consistent. While waiting for our food a customer ahead of us was very upset about the portion and total order. I would have liked to see them offer to remedy the order. The biggest issue was the smoke that was filling the dining room. I have asthma and had to step outside and eat fast. So that lost a star for me. Overall, I would eat there again. read more

Hadn't been to a Dickey's in a while, but figured I'd give it a go since it was getting late and we hadn't had dinner yet. I was sorely disappointed by the entire experience. We stood at the counter for a solid minute before any of the employees acknowledged us. When we had questions about the menu, it seems like we were annoying the staff. The food was quick, but while waiting for it to be ready, I ran to the rest room. The smell in the bathroom was of putrid urine and body odor. I quickly washed my hands and left without even using it. The brisket and chicken were both dry to the point that even the barbecue sauce couldn't save them. The bagged Mac and cheese was edible enough for my kid, but had been reduced to mush by the time we got whatever was scraped up from the bottom of the container. The baked potato casserole was weirdly peppered with what seemed like sugar or someone else sweet, so we skipped that too. Even the rolls, which are no doubt the brown and serve type were only partly cooked, they were cold and dense to the point of inedible. Overall, I was severely disappointed, and to make matters even more annoying, I discovered they added a 20% tip to my order without me choosing that option. (We got takeout, and I don't feel the need to tip 20% for my food to be jammed in a bag) I do plan to contact the store today regarding the additional charge added to my order and will contact my bank to dispute the charge if they do not immediately refund the unauthorized amount. I always tip, and never leave bad reviews, but this situation was so over the top terrible, I had to say something. I hate that I'm left with no other option, I enjoy barbecued food and live 5 minutes away from this location. Not as good as I thought. Good portions, but the brisket had mega fat. I guess thats why its so expensive. A little humor. The Mac n'Cheese has milk products like cream cheese, milk and cream. If you are dairy intolerant skip this side forever!!! The onion side is good. Everything was good but it could be better as in, HOT! Ours was cold. The other issue was this... we ordered it online. Online has a tracking of the steps the store is taking like .... order in que... well our order sat in the que for 20 mins amd we were picking it up in 10 mins. We went inside and said we are picking up an order. They said grubhub? No, an online order. He says its not ready because we did not see it come in... in other words they are not paying attention to incoming online orders. So we had to wait another 20 mins. Well they forgot the pickles we paid for already. Other patrons were in the store NOT wearing a mask or spreading out for space. All the employess still had masks even thou the mask update was banned in Kenosha. But, really people will still possibly get sick as the vaccines are not 100% safe. Read the papers. Anyway, We want to live and be free... do it at home, please. This BBQ joint is just ok, but better then restaurants farther north. BBQ sauce was good if you like sugar. The kids will love it. Oh my goodness! The food is FANTASTIC! I have gluten concerns and Dickey's told me..."No flour" on any of the meats!!! The wings....the meat just falls off the bones! Over all it was okay. Price was about average for bbq places in the area. Biggest complaint was my husband pulled plastic out of his brisket. when I brought it to their attention the cashier acted like it was normal and said it was because they wrap the brisket in cling wrap before they prepare it. How about this pandemic price. Went to Kenosha store yesterday to get ribs. They only had a half slab of ribs ready. So I said I would buy them. They ran my credit card, then came my surprise pandemic price. $13.70 for half slab of ribs. So that calculates to $2.74 cents per rib. If that's their normal pricing, I will never go back. I think Texas Road house sell full slab for under $20 bucks. And ribs were just okay good. :( read more

I was in town again on business and decided to try this place. This Dicky's location was a real disappointment. It was completely empty during prime dining hours. I soon understood why. Compared to the Dickey's back in Texas, the portions were very stingy. I ordered the three meat "Texas sized" meal. Ha! Pitiful portions and the food temperature was just above cold. I stood in line for a full five minutes waiting for the guy to look up and take my order. SERIOUSLY?!?! Look at this! Brisket is supposed to be sliced, not a chopped up mess you had left over. That's called "chopped" bbq!! The green beans tasted weird and maybe old. The bbq beans were awful and tasted like mustard instead of bbq. What the heck? The worst part? Both of us absolutely loved our two-meat platters. The meats were amazing (definitely get some turkey), and the sides were fantastic as well! Anytime I am presented with multiple barbecue sauce choices, I must try them all! And I did. I would recommend each one as they all went well with everything I tried them with. It was a very unpleasant experience. I ordered the wrong meal and realized it right after I placed the order. I promptly called the restaurant and spoke with the manager (Shamim) where I asked if I could cancel the order and place a new one (which would have generated more revenue for the restaurant) he was very unhelpful with my request, and said I would need to call corporate to get the order canceled, but would not provide me the number. asked how come he can't just cancel the order; he said that the meal was already made even though I scheduled it for a pick up 30-45 minutes later. I then asked him how or where the meal sits for that amount of time before I pick it up. He said in a warming oven of some sort. I then asked him if this would be hot when I picked it up and not "warm/lukewarm". He assured me that it would be hot. He was wrong. I live not more than 5 minutes away. When the food arrived at home it wasn't hot but warm as I had suspected. I still don't understand how he was not simply able to cancel the order with 30-45 minutes lag time available? When we picked it up there was literally no one dining in the restaurant, we were the only customers. Which then I don't understand why the meal couldn't be made "fresh" for designated pick-up time (or 5 minutes give or take). The whole experience was just miserable (and dealing with Shammim, who obviously never heard or adheres to the "customer is always right" motto). Probably will not visit again. read more

I've only picked up to go from here once, but we liked it. Polish sausage and ribs were tastiest in our opinion. The meat had a thin outer crust, just fell off the rib bones, and was moist with good flavor, a nice hint of smoke, just enough, and not too salty. Probably some of the better ribs I've had. All the meats were good. The skinless chicken breast (which is the only chicken they do) was succulent, juicy and flavourful, really tasted good- but would not hit a BBQ mark for me if that was my craving. Brisket was also good, at least tonight. By comparison, we like RUB's brisket too, but sometimes RUB's can be inconsistent. So we try to remember that at BBQ places. Potato salad was excellent! Creamy, ever-so-slight dill, delicious. Good beans too, preferred the jalapeño beans (barely there heat) over BBQ but both were good. Oh, good waffle fries, nice crisp and soft on inside. The guys working there were super friendly and helpful in guiding my choices, and even threw in some free fried okra, which was good, assuming you like okra- which can be a hard sell. I'd call the interior, "picnic casual". :) We spent about $30 for two "2-meat" combo meals (including 2 sides of our choice), and a roll (which was only ok), an extra half pound of ribs ($6), and a large drink. A tad pricey? Perhaps, but they didn't skimp on our meals and it really hit the spot! They have 3 sauces (original, sweet, and spicy) and you can serve yourself those and load up! Our fave was the spicy, although the guy behind the counter likes his half sweet and half spicy. Sounds like a good call to me! Tried to order online. Found it quite frustrating. Unable to follow through with it. So I called it in. I was ordering for all adults but didn't specify. Ended up ordering XL Family because it's for 8 people. Was going to order from catering menu. But XL family was a better deal. The sides are medium and smaller. Wasn't expecting how small they were. Not enough for large adults. I called back with my disappointment. Spoke to the manager. Grateful for the explanation of their menu. And had two trays of sides delivered to make up for it. We recently visited Dickey's for our first time ever on a trip to Kenosha even though there is one that isn't too far from where we live. It was kind of random, but I enjoyed the experience. It was a solid choice for quick service barbecue. The brisket was good as were the fries, and the prices weren't too bad. I liked the variety of sides that they had as well. The employees at this location were very friendly and the customer service was excellent. We were disappointed that the ice cream machine was broken when we visited, but it is understandable that those things happen every once in a while. If you want something fast that will taste good I would recommend Dickey's Barbecue Pit. We would return! read more

Before people say Im being rude. I went in fully thinking I would love this place. Now I love all BBQ and its super hard to screw it up. But its also hard to have GREAT BBQ. I judge bbq places fully on if they can do brisket even decently well. This place can NOT this is the worst Brisket I have ever had (and I've tried white castles brisket sliders) lol it was dry and chewy and felt like it was sitting out al day long. I did however think the potatoes and macaroni and cheese were good which is the only reason they get 2 stars. We had the best service today. Apparently my ex husband brings our son in often. Our son is 20 and is severely autistic. I brought him in today for the first time in a while. Desiree greeted us and reached over the counter to shake my son's hand. My son is loud, hops a lot, and has some behaviors that are not appropriate for a restaurant. Desiree remembered him AND remembered his order. Not only that, she helped us and carried the tray out to the table! She also came out to see if we needed anything else! I attempt eating out often and I'll tell you it's a rare occasion when someone looks at us and thinks, "hey, that mom can use a hand"! You have my business here on out! Now I understand I'm in WI and not all places have the same dedication to BBQ as us Texans do but good golly this place is just disgusting. That's all I have to say. I won't eat here again. Honestly. The greasiest bun on the worst tasting barbecue sandwich I've ever had. I wish people could come up with sides that are a little more tasty than soggy mac and cheese or canned beans. The waffle fries were gross. Not even sure why I was even eating waffle fries with barbecue but whatever. The meat was dry and had zero seasoning. Everyone has their own opinions but that was by far the biggest waste of money on food in a long time. Got the two meat plate and it was horrible. Paid an up charge for the briskit and ribs and they should of paid me to eat it. The ribs were dried out and shriveled up looking.
