Friend and I went here for lunch. Looking over the menu for a bit ( the owner-didn't know it then) comes over and says; "Can't decide? Try my brisket, and tell me if I can cook!" We'll lets just say-this man can cook! Probably the best brisket my friend and I have ever had. The bark, yes the bark, melt in your mouth, flavorful, not chewy, not hard, just wow factor. My friends spends a fair amount of time in central Texas (Salt Lick BBQ, Franklin's etc.) and even he said this was top of the top! So, we tried the smoked wings-delicious, and not over smoked, and the sides were also just as good. Cannot recommend Dragon Pit BBQ enough, will definitely be back. read more

Yum! Very delicious and reasonably priced! We had BBQ platters and they were delicious! Their BBQ is extremely tender and juicy. And their sauces are quite good. The staff is friendly and interested in your experience, which made the dinning all the more pleasant. The one thing I would improve? Coleslaw. Most places skimp on the coleslaw. Please add more coleslaw. When I eat a lot of meat, or fish for that matter, I like more slaw to balance the meal out. This is one of those restaurants I can whole-heartedly recommend. read more

I was pleasantly surprised how great this little BBQ place was. We arrived around 3:45 to have an early dinner since my best friend and I were attending a play next door. This was our first time here. Being first timers we weren't aware that the drink and food orders were done, at the bar. We grabbed a table near the window and we simply waited. The bartender dropped off two menus and then we waited. I think there should be signage directing first time customers the following: please seat yourselves. All orders are taken at the bar. Basically the only time we saw the bartender was when she dropped off the food, or our drinks. We ordered the Pit Platter which consisted of pulled pork, brisket, and chicken. We chose 2 sides which were collard greens and lemon dita fries. There is a table located near, the kitchen that has BBQ sauce, napkins, and cups & water. Our food was delivered without any silverware which we had to ask for. Then I needed a knife to cut the platter, so that my friend and I could split up our portions. I found out about the table and BBQ sauce when I asked if I could have napkins and BBQ sauce. I just don't think that a first timer customer should have to figure out, what to do, when first attending a restaurant. I like my experiences at restaurants to be great ones. I consider dining out to be something that is special and I never take it for granted. It is expensive to eat out so I want it to be worth it. I will definitely try this restaurant again. The hours are only open until 5 so they are open for breakfast, lunch and an early dinner. Food was great, experience not so great. Now that I am aware of what to do, when I go I will know that I need to get my napkins, BBQ sauce and where to order so that I'm not sitting around waiting for someone to come to my table. read more

For black history month I did a search for black owned businesses and was excited to see a bbq place in Racine! I read all of the reviews and all 9 were 5 star reviews, so I was very eager to try it out! The restaurant is located in an old bank on Ann street right off of Washington (Hwy 20). There are a couple of parking lots behind the business, so there is ample parking. They have a drive thru available. Please double check their hours as they are a bit non-traditional. Closed on Saturdays and Mondays. Open until 1 PM on Sundays and 5 PM Tuesdays-Fridays. They have weddings there, so I assume they do them evenings and on Saturdays. The inside is very nostalgic with it being an old bank. It looks like a very quaint location for weddings. As I was walking up to the restaurant, I was hit with wonderful smells of bbq and my mouth instantly began to water! As soon as you walk in the entrance there is an order counter to your left. It appears that most of their business is carry out, which is fine. I guess I am the type that prefers a full service place when it comes to bbq. If you eat inside there is just one long row of tables set up like a community table with benches on either side. They serve your food in to-go containers. The staff were all super friendly and helpful!! I ordered the spare rib platter which comes with two sides. I got coleslaw and mashed potatoes. I think maybe my expectations were running too high. The food was solid, but with all 9 reviews being 5 star, I think I was expecting it to be the best bbq I have ever had. My ribs and mashed potatoes were not real warm when I got them. The flavor in all of my food was good, but nothing wowed me. I would eat here again if in the area, but with knowing the layout and style of the restaurant, I would not make a special trip down from Milwaukee. read more

I heard good things about this place, so I thought I'd give it a try. Relatively new, they naturally smoke all our meat to perfection. I ordered the brisket sandwich with mac & cheese, brisket, tender, and juicy, and the mac & cheese, very rich and creamy they serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner I might have to stop here before work and try the breakfast burrito. I have just moved to Racine , I love the things this community does to get customers to know of new places and establishments! There are so many places I have gone to eat at after with my family because of the beer and bacon walk or the parades my kids participate. I know we were having an amazing beautiful day and yes may have been loud ( there was 11 of us) but before we walked in even she came outside looking at us with dirty looks. I was one that said thank you and she rolled her eyes at me. I am not a teenager I am a mother and she was yelling at people as I walked out. She pre judged us before even walking in. Every other location was friendly took pictures and had fun with us. I just don't get why she decided to participate if we were inconveniencing you. I would have definitely came back for your food with my family but before I could even talk you were angry . I love Racine and eveything this town offers. I think these small businesses are what make the town amazing. Give people a chance before judging and yelling . People do get louder with alcohol .. we know that and I'm sorry but you really didn't give us a chance. We tip we are good customers and to be fair we did pay for our ticket (45$) to participate so when we stop in want to finish our beer before walking that is not loitering . Went there for lunch. First time at a new joint so I like to try the staple stuff first. Had the tips and a side of hush puppies. Tips were very flavorful and smoked to perfection. A few pieces of meat were a bit chewy but all in all very good tasting. BBQ sauce came on the side and was equally good. Sweet and smoky. Hush puppies were trash r I woulda gave em 5 stars. I usually drive 50 minutes to go to LDs in East Troy. Found out about this spot from my neighbor and it didn't disappoint! Great food, service and clean atmosphere. I had the pleasure of trying dragon pit barbecue for the first time today after seeing the pictures of their food online which looked incredible and everything about my experience was fantastic. From the moment I pulled into the parking lot I was intrigued by the outside patio area which seems like a great place for dining on a beautiful day with one of the patio tables having an extra large set of the game Jenga a classic favorite which I thought was a cool idea and noticed a gentleman who I now know to be Emerson busy at the grill which also gave me high hopes knowing my food would be hot and fresh. As soon as I opened my car door I was greeted with the great smell of barbecue and also Emerson who I have to say is one of the nicest gentlemen I have met and being my first time here I asked him about placing an order to go and am grateful for him making the process especially easy because all I had to do was tell him what I wanted since I had already previously viewed their menu online and he kindly took my order and showed me where to pick it up but I can't stress enough when I say Emerson just seems like a super friendly person with a very positive upbeat attitude that made the entire experience that much better and I consider myself lucky having the opportunity to have met him but let's talk about the food lol. I ordered the Breakfast Biscuit Brisket Sandwich and it was nothing short of the BEST BREAKFAST SANDWICH I have EVER HAD!!!! and yes the capital letters are absolutely necessary I jest you not soooo good and HUGE with a biscuit that will knock your socks off and a cheese omelette inside!!! Went at 11am today and ordered the biscuits and gravy and the breakfast sandwich with hollandaise sauce. Also got a cappuccino. Everything was beyond amazing. The shredded meat on the sandwich was cooked to perfection and tasted amazing with the sauce, egg, cheese, and biscuit. I only took one bite because I had planned to take one tast of the biscuits and gravy and save that for my boyfriend. I ate all of it and its one of the best biscuits and gravy I have ever had...and I am from the south! 5 stars!!! I love the convenient drive thru service and cannot wait to try more.
