We are fans of the Dickeys franchise and always stop if we see one on our travels. I have to say, this location wasn't as good as most. The meats just weren't the same. The brisket especially just wasn't really cooked correctly. Tasted more like roast beef than brisket and was cut in thick chunks which was odd. Pulled pork was pretty good but had no bark at all. Also, no fryers for fries, okra, etc. No ice cream machine. Huge tears there. On the plus side, the interior is one of the nicest Dickeys I've been to and the people were nice. read more

The jalapeño cheese sausage good, the collard greens good but the Mac and cheese wasn't good it was kind of flavorless. The cornbread was good. My family and I stopped by Dickey's in Albemarle yesterday for lunch after a road trip to visit my great-grandmother's grave. We were pretty hungry and couldn't wait to see what was on the menu. Let me just say that we definitely found a place that knows its barbeque. The pulled pork had a good temperature & was very tender. The sweet BBQ sauce tasted so good! I would absolutely recommend it. The mashed potatoes & Mac n' cheese were tasty. I wish there had been a few healthier sides available for those of us watching our weight, but these were still good. The flavor of the Texas toast was a little disappointing, but the bread was well toasted, if not somewhat under-whelming. Should we find outmrselves back in Albemarle, we'll be back! read more

Had a small catering order. Ordered at roughly 11:30am to be picked up at 4:30. The food was almost inedible. They had stuffed everything in a food warmer and it tasted like it had been there since 11:30. Brisket was dry, pulled pork was crunchy. We had 20 guests and they were all disappointed. When I walked in to pick up the order, a female (manager I presume) was sitting in the corner with headphones on. Nobody else was in the store and it took her a minute to actually come to the counter. I told her I had a catering order. She just started yelling at all the workers to find my food. It was a young man's first day and she continued to yell at him and bark orders for things he had obviously not been trained for. She was rude and completely incompetent for her position. The guy whose first day it was had more of a grasp than her and was very polite. I run a grading business and considered offering him a job on the spot because I couldn't work for that dreadful manager. Dickeys, you guys can do better. I have eaten a lot of different BBQ and this place is a go-to for lunch. The service is prompt, and the food is served quickly. Had the brisket which was moist and not dry like a lot of other spots in the area. The green beans are very peppery. Staff is hit or miss as far as friendliness, but we all have our days. Overall they have been pleasant. The restaurant is small, but we have not had any issue finding a place to sit. read more

Hanging out with my cousin. I ordered the three meat plate and chose chopped brisket, smoked turkey, pulled pork, with two sides of baked beans and a yeast roll. It's barbecue is very mediocre, if that. The brisket was decent. The seasoning on the brisket was good, a tad to much salt but was still good. The sliced turkey I could have done without. It almost tasted like bologna. The pulled pork was overcooked. The pork wasn't pulled but rather smashed together in clumps. The baked beans taste like they was right out the can. Luckily they have a special spicy sauce that was actually really good. I took the spicy sauce and mix it in the baked beans and they turn up pretty good then. Worst BBQ I have ever had, my neighbor went to pick up a 3 meat meal for myself and a neighbor due to my health I b was unable to go, I got chicken, beef and pork, the beef was dry and I mean dry, the pork was ok, the Mac and Cheese was ok, but for $40 you would have expected better, no I don't suggest you or anyone that want a good BBQ meal to visit here, maybe because of the COVID-19 theirs quality of food have slip, fo hope they improve for with my health being handicap I hate wasting money and with some of the issues I got medically I got be careful of my choices of food but that it for me at this location read more

While a little pricey, Dickey's is one of the best "meat and sides" type of restaurants I've been to! I always get the sliced chicken breast and it's marinated perfectly, juicy and flavorful. Feeling extra healthy? Get it as a topper for a Cesar salad! The sides are also amazing! My husband loves their mac & cheese and the green beans taste like what your grandma makes! I will start by saying the pork ribs were very tender and almost fell off the bone. The brisket was above average and is typical Texas style brisket. The pork bbq on the other hand was in my opinion, nasty. It was mushy, and had absolutely no taste. The bbq beans, mac n cheese, slaw and potato casserole were basic and institutional. Had a metalic and bitterness to the smoke flavor. Meat did not have the proper texture, nor flavor like it was smoked way too fast.
