I DO NOT recommend buying from Dick Smith Chevrolet. I bought a vehicle from them this year ,several days after purchasing the vehicle I noticed the bumper was damaged. 6 bolts were missing out of the bumper support frame. I called the dealership, the salesman (G.L.) I spoke to gave me a hard time about getting it fixed. He wanted me to go to a private auto body shop to get an estimate. I did what he asked & got the estimate but really why did I have to do that, shouldn't the dealership have done so? The salesman I was dealing with kept repeating to me that getting the vehicle fixed was above his pay grade. I am over 70 years old, I did not need the stress. I have never been treated this way by any other dealerships I have dealt with. They eventually fixed the bumper after about 6 weeks, but not without me calling them almost every day. I will never buy from this dealership again. If you buy from this dealership - be forewarned , cross your t's and dot your i's. read more

I purchased a new Silverado at Dick Smith's at the end of 2016 and I have been back for a couple of scheduled maintenance appointments and called in with questions a couple of times. Sales or service, these guys are top drawer all the way. Worth the drive to Moncks Corner. Our sales guy Greg was excellent, knowledgeable, skilled. The service people are prompt, honest, engaged. The worst thing you can say about them is that they're service guys are usually booked up for several days out, and that's because they're so good. This is a darn good dealership! You'll Think Everything Would Go Easy If You Already Pre-Approved Well At Dick Smith Chevrolet That Is NOT the case. I Was Pre-Approved By Global Lending Services (GLS). I Made That Aware When I First Spoke To Greg. He insisted That His Manager Said He Sure That I Can Get Approved From Somewhere Else. Me Knowing How Stressful It Was For Me To Get Approved I Said I Would Like To Stick To My Finance Company. Hours After I Gave Him My Information I Heard NOTHING Back. He Said He Was With Another Customer Which Was Fine. When We Spoke Again He Mentioned He Cant Do Financing With GLS Because They Would Charge A $800 Fee. Then Mentioned They Made A Mistake On The Sale Price. As He Was Explaining This He Mentioned About Rising The Price. Moments Later We Agreed To Raise The Price By 800. He Then Call Us Back And Say They Can't Do That It Would Be Illegal. Remind You He Was The One That Gave Us That Idea. So I Finally Gave In And Let Them Run My Credit ONLY 3 Times. I Pacifically Asked Him Not To Run My Credit From Capital One, Westlake, Ally. 3 More Hours Goes By I Haven't Heard From ANYONE. Horrible, So after 3 weeks still no call back for messing up and never grounding the first car we traded in. I had to call up there to make sure it was taken care of no call from the store manger. I did get put in contact with the finance manger who said it was taken care of however he was the one that should have made sure it was taken care of the first time so no real hope there. They still bother me with emails to see if I want to buy a vehicle from them. Not a chance guys please stay away from this dealership they will rob u blind. My 80 year old Korean War Vet Father took his 1994 Chevy Z71 4x4 with 90,000 miles to Dick Smith's. He bought the truck new from this dealership under another name. My father was to received oil changes for life when he bought the truck. Dick Smith would not honor that contract. So my father pays $19.99 for their cheap oil changes. There was 1000+ more miles left on that oil change. It was a quart low last month and my father added a quart. I took it to Walmart. It took 3 grown men to get that filter off. The fat rubber seal was so thinned out and the oil filter almost had a hole in it where they damaged it with a tool. I put the best Castol Synthetic in it. The knuckleheads at Dick Smith must of use the tool to take it off to put it on. Or super large channel locks. You only need to hand tighten this oil filter. Dick Smith does not honor contracts that he is obligated to whene he bought the dealership and he did not respect my veteran father. This truck is my father's pride and joy. Before I start this rant, I just want to state that I have purchased 2 cars from a Dick Smith dealership in Columbia SC with great straight forward Customer Service from Angel Vargas. I was looking to purchase a SUV at Dick Smith Chevrolet in Moncks Corner which is 45-60 minutes from downtown Charleston. The car I was interested in was located at one of their dealerships in Columbia SC. Before they would ship it down, they wanted me to come to an agreement on the price of that car and the trade-in of mine. Completely understandable. We agreed on the price of the of the SUV that I wanted to purchase. I have a 2013 Tacoma, low mileage (27k) with a bunch of add-ons (FUEL wheels, nice off-road tires, bed cover, etc...). I was looking to get $26.5K on my trade. The dealership went back and forth with me for several days stating they could only give up to $24K and then $25K for the truck but they would need to see it first. I made it clear that there wasn't a need for me to drive out there unless they would be able (assuming they liked the truck) to get up to $26.5K. I completely understand them needing to see the truck before agreeing to a trade-in value. On the 3rd day after my initial inquiry, they called me and stated they would be able to get up to $26.5k contingent on seeing the truck. Again, completely understandable. I setup a time to drive out there and let them see the truck. The truck was in perfect condition and exactly as described to them over the phone. Their first offer to me was $24K and my jaw dropped. Then they came back with the best offer they could propose which was $24.5K. They didn't state any reason they couldn't offer what they said they could get up to. They didn't say what they didn't like about the truck. I politely left letting them know I would explore other dealerships. By the time I drove out there, spoke with the salesman, and drove back, there was 3 hours of my life gone. Don't go to Dick Smith Chevrolet in Moncks Corner. They have no respect for peoples time. That place never had any intention of getting close to $26.5. They just wanted to try to get me out there to get a sale. Other Dick Smith locations may be better but I wouldn't go to the one in Moncks Corner. read more
