First, I contacted Tim about a new Howard Miller mantle clock that was having issues. He did the warranty work on it. But, Howard Miller is going out of business, and the quality of their clocks seems not to be what they used to produce. Second, he worked on a 1920 Herschede mantle clock I bought on eBay. With me standing there, he pulled out the mechanism and it was clear that a part was broken. Plus, it did not look at all like the photo posted by the clocksmith on eBay who sold it to me. Tim did what he could. The reason I bought those clocks is that I want a mechanical clock that keeps good time, and neither of them do. But many Grandfather Clocks do keep good time, and I knew that Tim has some. So, after a conversation with him, I bought a 1988 Ridgeway Grandfather Clock from him. Tim and his son delivered the clock, set it up, and Tim gave me a brief overview. He also had the manual and original paperwork for me. It's beautiful, and after a few adjustments it is accurate to within a few seconds. It does play three different chimes, but I love the Winchester chimes, and this clock sounds wonderful. I love to look at their air plants and would spend hours at that store. However, today when I parked and looked closely at the sign, I saw GELATO and k LOVE gelato. After picking up an air plant, I walked over to the ice cream section and saw all of their gelato selections! The owner was so kind. He offered to let me sample whichever flavor I wanted to without making me feel obligated to buy anything. After trying out 5 flavors, I decided to go with the lemon pie gelato. It was so yummy. I ate the entire thing in my car before I even started driving home. It was that good! I will definitely be coming back and trying out more flavors in the near future.

It seemed super local with several different shopping opportunities and a few choices to grab a snack or beverage. The plant store/art gallery was probably my favorite shop, a very eclectic collection of plants, finished art pieces and craft supplies/kits. We browsed in that one for quite awhile! The candy store offered a great selection of chocolate sweets and the gal was super sweet. We also met a wonderful gal at the Battle Crest tasting room with great stories of the distilleries history and the owners passion for spirits. It was a super quiet evening, not many other visitors so we pretty much had the place to ourselves, not sure that's a good thing! Other than the candy shop and distillery, the shop keepers were pretty much checked out, we didn't get greeted, welcomed or even smiled at... that was weird! Maybe when it's bustling they're more inviting and friendly but the night we were there they were definitely not in the mood for customers! It's a great market with an even better location and on a warm sunny day it'd be the perfect place to spend the afternoon.
