Thank you, Tim Morales at Benjamin & Sons for selling me a Grandfather clock that keeps good time, chimes very pleasantly, and looks very good. First, I contacted Tim about a new Howard Miller mantle clock that was having issues. He did the warranty work on it. But, Howard Miller is going out of business, and the quality of their clocks seems not to be what they used to produce. Second, he worked on a 1920 Herschede mantle clock I bought on eBay. With me standing there, he pulled out the mechanism and it was clear that a part was broken. Plus, it did not look at all like the photo posted by the clocksmith on eBay who sold it to me. Tim did what he could. The reason I bought those clocks is that I want a mechanical clock that keeps good time, and neither of them do. But many Grandfather Clocks do keep good time, and I knew that Tim has some. So, after a conversation with him, I bought a 1988 Ridgeway Grandfather Clock from him. Tim and his son delivered the clock, set it up, and Tim gave me a brief overview. He also had the manual and original paperwork for me. It's beautiful, and after a few adjustments it is accurate to within a few seconds. It does play three different chimes, but I love the Winchester chimes, and this clock sounds wonderful. I expect to have it for the rest of my life. Note: Yelp says I'm in California. No, I'm in Olympia, WA. read more

Exceptional Craftsmanship & Outstanding Service! I can't say enough good things about Tim Morales with Benjamin and Sons! They brought my beloved grandfather clock back to life after years of sitting idle (it's over 200 years old!!). The mechanism was intricate and had suffered from wear and tear over the decades, but their expertise and attention to detail restored it to perfect working condition. From the moment I reached out, Tim was professional, knowledgeable, and passionate about his craft. He took the time to explain the repairs, provided a fair quote, and handled everything with the utmost care. Now, my clock chimes beautifully once again, filling my home with the comforting sound I thought was lost forever. If you have a clock in need of repair, look no further--Benjamin and Son's is truly a master of their trade! Plus, Tim will come to your home and pick up and deliver your clock. Highly recommended! read more

I have three different wind up clocks that need periodic repair and service. For many years I had one person who helped me with this, He no longer is available, so I sought out another clock person in Thurston County. Recently an old ships clock I still have needed an adjustment and I sought out Tim and was pleasantly surprised when he came to my home and promptly repaired my clock. His charges were very reasonable and very efficient. He will be my go to clock repair specialist in the future. read more

Soooo Happy!! Tim came yesterday and repaired my 38 year old Sligh wall clock without having to reorder parts. I previously went to a repair shop in Fife(now closed) that told me if I had anything else go wrong I would need to replace the entire mechanism to the tune of $1k. Tim said that was complete misinformation. I was dreading having to take my clock down and drive a good distance and then wait for a lengthy expensive repair. Tim's operation is mobile so it was so easy. He came over and in less than an hour had my clock back up and running. He charges NO trip charge which is awesome and the whole repair including tax was $82. It was so wonderful dealing with an honest human being. I so enjoyed talking with him as well! read more

Wow, Tim is AMAZING. He came to our home and repaired 3 clocks within half an hour. One is a 125-year-old cast iron mantel clock that hasn't worked for the past decade (since the elderly clock repairman in a nearby town passed away). Another is a wall clock that plays bird songs on the hour. Such clocks are infamous for breaking down, but our mother (an avid birdwatcher) loved this one, so we try to keep it going in remembrance of her. This clock needed a replacement part, which Tim had in his van. The cost for the home visit and all these repairs was incredibly reasonable. read more

Tim gave us all kinds of information about the clock we inherited. It was fun to watch him work and listen as he got our 1930's pub clock oiled, wound and hung. I highly recommend Benjamin & Sons! read more

Tim took my call from his mobile workshop and scheduled a home visit right away. He was able to diagnose the issue for our grandmother clock and completed maintenance and repairs on site. He was able to tell us a bit about our clock that was a gift from a family member. Also let us know about need for maintenance every 7-10 years. Bottom line: Great service, fair price for a house call and our clock now works great! read more

Fantastic service, helpful and kind. Tim drove about 70 miles to pick up my broken cuckoo and repaired it quickly. Very reasonably priced.

Wonderful service and I loved the house call cause I had no idea how I would get it there! I think we messed it up getting home.... Tim is amazing doing what he could considering the bad snow we had on Monday and we had an appointment. I wouldn't of wanted him trying to get here in that mess! He called me today and said he had time... I said no rush! He was out here when he said he could. Explained everything I needed to know about how to maintain my Grandfather Clock! Thankfully he lives close in case of my whoops sorry moments lol! I would take and clock to them or have them come out! Also the best prices ever! Poor Tim had to endure my annoying dogs! He is a trooper! read more

Benjamin & Sons Clock Service Center - Ridgeway curio cabinet Grandfather Clock with moon-dial.. - Clock Repair Near Me

My Grandfather clock stopped keeping time and stopped chiming on the appropriate hour. Had gotten in touch with the shop I bought it from, but the owner refused to make a housecall to fix it. He recommended Tim, and when I got home, I called and left a message. He called me back that day, and he was at our home the next day. He hadn't realized that the spool that the chime weight was gummed up, and I sent him a text that night, and he was out the next day and fixed it right up. If you need your clocks tuned up, cleaned, fixed, definitely give Tim at Benjamin & Sons Clock Service Center. Thank you for your expertise and skills that got my clock working again. If I ever need anything else down the line, this is the only place I will go. read more

We have used Benjamin's and sons for many years. They are great. Tim usually works on our clocks now but the whole family is awesome and knows how to repair any type of clock. We would not use any one else. read more

Excellent service in home repair to my grandmother clock. Locally owned by a family who have provided service for clocks for several years.

Tim is a great guy and really knows his trade. I would highly recommend him for any and all your clock repair needs. He'll go out of his way to satisfy his customers! read more

I had two sentimental cuckoo clocks in disrepair. Tim immediately returned my call, and had them repaired within 24 hours of pickup (yes, mobile service!). Tim even took the time to hang my little treasure! read more

This mobile service came to my house! We brought out the broken clock and it was fixed within minutes! We were lucky that when we called the repairman was in our neighborhood so we had super quick service. The clock works great! read more

Went down to their store, and found them closed, They told me that they were moving to the East Coast, and were going out of business. I used them previously to put in some new batteries in my watchs, and found their service to be excellent. Oh well my loss. read more

Their work seems to be very good. However, when I dropped my clock off for repair they told me it would take 3 weeks, as they were backed up a bit. I was fine with that. But it ended up taking 7 weeks, twice being lied to about its finish date along the way. When I picked it up and paid, there was no apology. I wouldnt be so upset as to the length of the repair if this wasnt a surprise for my parents 35th anniversary, which was missed. UPDATE: I was called following this review and apologized to for the delay. They offered to extend the warranty to 3 years. read more

I have a very old Cuckoo clock that has been passed down in the family for year, but had not worked in a very long time. Tim at Benjamin & Son's was able to get it back to its original working order. We also had a couple of issues with it after we got it back (not due to anything Tim did, just because we don't know how the clock worked and it's VERY OLD) and he came out at no charge and taught us how to run it properly. Tim is great to work with and VERY knowledgeable! I HIGHLY recommend Benjamin and Sons Clock Service to anyone who has an clock in need of repair. read more

Since my previous review I've brought in one old Bulova automatic and two old Rolex automatics for full servicing. The Bulova service cost $295 and included complete disassembly, cleaning, lubrication and assembly of the movement, polishing of the crystal, and polishing of the gold case to match factory specifications. My great grandfather's watch now runs flawlessly and looks new despite being almost 60 years old. The Rolex's cost $495 each but included a full service, case polishing, and a new crystal. Unfortunately the previous owner of my reference 1501 Rolex had epoxied the bezel onto the case. Johnathan was able to remove the glue and properly install the bezel with no damage to the case or movement. Benjamin and Sons is a first rate business with great customer service that can handle any horological work. read more

Stopped here to have a battery replaced and a link removed from my watch. The whole thing took about 10 minutes, no appointment needed, and they were very friendly. A little pricey, 8 dollars for a link removal and 12 dollars for battery replacement but I'd happily go back again. The battery also comes with a one year warranty. read more

Quick, friendly, and inexpensive watch battery replacement! Will go back again if I'm still in the area.

They were very friendly, fast and affordable. I got my fiancé's watch battery replaced in under 5 minutes. Definitely going back again!

Such a great place! He restored an old early 1900 clock for me. Followed up by coming out to my home to check on it.. Amazing service!

Was referred here by my jewelers, been trying to come here for a month just to get my watch battery replaced and have been turned away every time. The whole store is is either closed for weeks or the watch maker is gone, or not accepting new projects. Going on two months and they cannot replace my watch battery. Really frustrating and I don't know why they're even open if they won't service anyone. read more

This was a local owned, reasonable and experienced watchmaker that replaced batteries. Th five stars is in recognition of that work. Unfortunately, that part of the business was sold to Kluh Jewellers (I believe) and can no longer replace your batteries. read more

My wife had a watch she loved in high school and it broke a few years back. I had no idea how to fix it to give it to her as an anniversary gift. These guys had it for 5 mins and fixed it with a brand new battery at a great price! read more

I've had 3 repairs done by these guys, and each time I've been very pleased with the service, the clocks have been fixed very quickly each time, and it was very affordable. If I ever have a problem with a clock again, I'll know where to go! read more

Hi, yes I went there to get a nice watch repaired. I was told they were closed for 2 weeks and behind on their work. And that they were not accepting any new work for a while. I have family visiting who leave in a few weeks and badly needed a watch repaired. They were not of any help and really not to nice about it. read more

Had my antique clock worked on twice to get new springs. He never got it right. Seven day springs only work for 2-3 days,. He also kept the clock for long periods of time. Never called as promised. Gave up with this place! read more

They are not accepting watch repairs at this time, although their advertising says differently. This is ostensibly due to a large backup of work. Maybe if they were open more than 21 hours a week, they would have time to accomplish more work. read more
