My husband and I stopped in today to get our wedding rings cleaned and polished (purchased at…read moreClark's, which was an amazing experience all on its own, see my prior review). He does such a great job cleaning, polishing and in my case throughly inspecting my diamond. It makes me feel really good about not only our original purchase, but about the maintenance they receive there. As a bonus I walked out with the most beautiful pair of sapphire earrings ever. I'd been hinting that I wanted new earrings and these were just waiting for me. My husband is amazing, but so is the selection at Clark's. And the owner makes it so easy and pleasant to do business, truly stressless. It makes me happy to support such a great local business and I'm always thrilled with the outcome of any visit.

Marlene said they could fix it no problem. I gave them my cherished heirloom and about a month later (custom parts had to be ordered) Marlene called me to say it was ready. When I went to pick it up, Marlene taught me how the music box worked. I brought two watches that needed battery replacements and she taught me how to use the tools and do it myself. I never thought I'd be learning how to work on watches and music boxes. What a cool experience! I can't say enough about what a great shop this is and how nice Marlene is. Thank you, Tim Morales at Benjamin & Sons for selling me a Grandfather clock that keeps good time,…read morechimes very pleasantly, and looks very good. First, I contacted Tim about a new Howard Miller mantle clock that was having issues. He did the warranty work on it. But, Howard Miller is going out of business, and the quality of their clocks seems not to be what they used to produce. Second, he worked on a 1920 Herschede mantle clock I bought on eBay. With me standing there, he pulled out the mechanism and it was clear that a part was broken. Plus, it did not look at all like the photo posted by the clocksmith on eBay who sold it to me. Tim did what he could. The reason I bought those clocks is that I want a mechanical clock that keeps good time, and neither of them do. But many Grandfather Clocks do keep good time, and I knew that Tim has some. So, after a conversation with him, I bought a 1988 Ridgeway Grandfather Clock from him. Tim and his son delivered the clock, set it up, and Tim gave me a brief overview. He also had the manual and original paperwork for me. It's beautiful, and after a few adjustments it is accurate to within a few seconds. It does play three different chimes, but I love the Winchester chimes, and this clock sounds wonderful. I expect to have it for the rest of my life. Note: Yelp says I'm in California. No, I'm in Olympia, WA.
