After coming out, he quickly dug in, found the problem (a root lifted the outlet line as seen in the photo), fixed it, and charged a fair price. While he was here, I had him put in some manhole covers and an observation port to make servicing easier in the future. All that in about 1/2 a day. Even though I didn't select MPS initially, I really appreciated their professionalism and interest in my job. My job was not a big job or a typical job. It required saw cutting a concrete driveway in a neighbor's driveway. I went back to MPS and John was gracious to come onsite and look at my job. In the end, they squeezed me in around 10am, which was perfect! The crew showed up right on time, were professional, friendly, and got the job done efficiently and cleanly. No mess, quick pump and inspection, and they left everything spotless in my backyard (even with all the plants and stuff around the access point). Communication was top-notch from start to finish--morning check-in texts, heads-up when they were en route, and a call number if needed. At 730, I got a call to let me know they had problems with their truck and would be there between 10-11. At 1130, I called and spoke to the owner letting him know nobody had shown up yet. He told me he messed up and would be another couple hours. This was now becoming an all day appointment for my client so I asked for a small discount for her inconvenience. He declined any discount at all claiming he doesn't make money on these jobs. I would have been happy with $50 off the $700 job but he declined to do anything to make up for his mistake. I understand that mistakes happen but it would be nice of him to offer some concession to show he values his customer's time. Definitely a poor experience for me.
