Before starting any appointment I've constantly asked if they do designs and show them the photos I am interested in. They have always said yes they can but I wish they would have told me they didn't understand or couldn't do it. I just kept being told yes and being pushed through the appointment. I also asked for my nails to be cut since they are too long for me, and then they didn't cut them but instead decided to file them down. I attached reference photos to one of the designs I was looking for and then what I had received. I only showed one for nail tip reference and the other for the face. The literal tips of my nails were painted instead of normal tips being painted on and they wouldn't add a base color to make the sparkles layer and show. They tried to paint the scream face but didn't understand the reference and didn't realize it needed to be a face with a mouth. Every time I questioned them during my nail service I was reassured that they understood. I was just so disappointed and really wish I would have been told no in the beginning as I would have went somewhere else.

I came in for a new Gel-X set and decided to keep it simple with a classic French. I'm very particular about the foundation and shape of my nails, and he absolutely nailed both. The foundation is smooth and clean, the shape is exactly what I wanted, and the French tips came out crisp and even. I kept looking at my nails afterward because I loved how clean they looked. Next time I come back, I definitely want to try a design now that I know they can get the basics right. I also got my eyebrows done and a polish change on my toes with acrylic tips. Everything came out nice, although I'm realizing acrylic tips on my toes are probably a little too much for me personally. Next time I'll probably do builder gel instead for a more natural look and feel. That's more about my preference than anything they did wrong. Everyone I interacted with was very nice and welcoming, which immediately made me feel more comfortable trying somewhere new. The salon itself was clean, bright, and had a nice atmosphere.
