Came here with a friend from a recommendation, got a gel manicure and regular pedicure. Service was fine, the ladies were nice, but I cannot believe the job that was done. I could've painted my nails in the dark better than what I received. I had to fix everything when I got home, filing off and cutting the areas that were all over my fingers and toes. They painted onto my cuticles! Thank goodness I have my own gel/shellac equipment so I was able to reapply a top coat. My toes was about 70% painted with top coat. You can even see the paint lines. My toe nails were filed and cut into a wave shape as well. I was very disappointed. The ladies were very nice but they could not see. Most of them were wearing reading glasses! I felt bad because they reminded me of my mom, but this is suppose to be a business. I will not be coming back. read more

My experience here wasn't bad but it wasn't great either. I called ahead and made an appointment but even with that I felt rushed the whole time. I had a gel manicure and they came out looking okay but not fantastic.The price wasn't too bad, $25 ( pretty standard for gel/shellac) plus cash for tip. It's been less than a week and I can notice the polish starting to lift a little around and edges. I can't complain about the quality of the work that they do and I'm completely satisfied, but twice now they made appointments for me and I sat and sat while others got called before me. It's rude and unprofessional. No one talked with me and they really acted like I was not there. I left, mostly because they don't care about my time. I've been coming here for years and although I come and go periodically I don't go anywhere else for my nail care. I usually get a shellac manicure which is $25 and a pedicure which is $22 everytime I visit. I rarely call ahead of time and just mostly walk in which is great because they always take me in right away and if not right away it's not a long wait. If they are really busy (which they can be) they'll tell me to come back in a few hours which is fine, no big deal. I don't have a particular person I like and have had most of all the ladies work on me. I'm not picky but it is a hit or miss. I'm big on customer service and I feel that anywhere you are getting services done the people that are serving you should be polite, helpful, nice etc. The ladies here can be pretty snooty but start up a little conversation and they'll lighten up. I thought I've established my place here but through out the years and pretty recently I've felt that they have been more stand off-ish and not so nice, which makes me not want to come here anymore. Their arm/foot massages have gone down hill and they don't spend to much time on it anymore and that's what I look forward to when getting my nails done. Overall, my shellac manicure last an average of 2-3 weeks before I have to get them done again and my toes last longer but come back 2-3 weeks later to get both done again and spend at least $60 every time (tips including in $60) which is pretty expensive and I dont know if i want to spend my money here anymore where services have been lacking. They're plenty of nails salons within miles from each other, so I think it's time to look elsewhere. read more

Horrible experience,I came down from Sacramento to visit family and have a girls day. Went to get my nails done which I haven't done in forever . Paid for full set with gel, the lady cut me with drill. She made the nails too short once she filed them I told her to add more acrylic to make it longer to match the rest of them and she got upset and didn't want to add then she finally did. They refused to fix my nails, I asked for an almond shape they made it pointy no matter me telling them I didn't like that. My nails came out crooked on some finger and am missing acrylic towards the end. One nail even looks like it's missing half of it. Horrible job, wouldn't even fix it after one lady had agreed with me that it looked horrible. I just wanted to feel pretty with some new nails since I never get a chance to do this and now I want to rip them off because they look so bad. read more

Diamond Nails? Please! Its not even Swarovzki Nails. More like Rhinestone Nail! Do not come in here expecting a relaxed luxurious experience. The place is large and the spa chairs are nice but the atmosphere is horrible. There is a TV and the employees spend the entire day speaking to one another in their native language. So why 4 stars? Lisa! I recently started working in Hayward and asked a colleague with fabulous nails for a nail salon recommendation. She suggested Linda and Lisa at Diamond Nails. After yelping it out I decided to make a same day appointment with Lisa. When I showed up a woman working on someones nails asked how she could help me. I stated I had a 12pm with Lisa. She looked confused. Then the woman next to her (who I later found out was Lisa) said 'Hi, what your name?' I said 'Carolina.' then she and the woman next to her talked to each other, not in English, and then the first woman started to tell me I never made an appointment with Lisa. Really lady?? By this point I was pretty freaking irritated. I was ready to leave. But just as the first woman continued to lecture me Lisa walked up and said she would help me and led me to her table. Lisa and I started talking about how I wanted my nails done and she started working on them. As soon as she started, the first woman who I talked to peeked around the pillar and started telling me that next time I need to be more clear about who I want to see. I ignored her looked at Lisa and said 'If this is going to be an issue and she keeps up the attitude I can go somewhere else.' Lisa quickly apologized so I stayed. Despite the annoying woman with the attitude the service Lisa gave me was great. She gave me one of the best acrylic fills I have received since my nail lady left my favorite salon over a year ago. Lisa paid attention to my requests- natural, thin, short, square but rounded. They were perfect, they even grew out nicely, no lifts (see pic). She did an amazing job! I have since gone back for a pedicure by Nina which was alright, she gave the worst massage I have ever gotten, not worth $25. I have also gone back to get an additional fill by Lisa. She had squeezed me in to her schedule so the quality was not as good because she was rushed, nothing I couldn't live with for a few weeks (see pic). I'm so sad to be doing this review today. I've been going to Diamond Nails for MANY YEARS, and I have to say it sure has changed. I remember a time when I use to feel so welcomed and I loved it here. It has been the past year that I felt the energy shift in the place of business, and it just didn't feel welcoming anymore. I would say "hello" and just get ignored by many of the women, (Not all but majority). The last couple times I went I seen Julie for my pedicure because she to me was really sweet. That changed! On 07/17/22 I called to see if it was ok to come in for a pedicure and I asked if Julie was available and the gentleman that I was speaking to said that she was. I was so excited and happy that they could see me because I really needed a pedicure, and she was one of the nice ladies. When I walked in this day, I seen Julie and she gave me an evil mean look. I felt the energy right away and I asked her, " were you ready to go home?" She responded, "yes", can you come tomorrow?" (Said not nicely). I was really thrown off because I've never seen her like this. Everyone there was just staring at me (just employees) because it looked like they were all cleaning and getting ready to go. I would have never come in if I knew I'd be treated like this. I said, "thank you" and left to my car. I stayed in my car crying and called my fiancé to share with him again how I was treated. Lisa came out maybe 10 minutes later apologizing and asking me to come in so she can do my pedicure. I appreciate that she even came out, but It didn't make it better. I didn't go because I just feel like I'm not welcomed here anymore. I'm sad to have to find a new nail place after all these years. This place is pretty big and nice. I was amazed by how clean inside this place looked. From the outside it look crappy but inside look clean and comfortable. I had a emerygency appt since I was sick over the weekend and couldnt make it to my usual spot, I was in desperate need of a fill and pedicure. I had an appt at 11:10am with Lisa, and she did an amazing Pink and white tip. She was very gently and didnt hurt me or burn me at all. Right after I had a pedicure done by a older woman I didnt ask for her name. I just did regular french tip and pink base coat. I LOVE IT! Everyone was really nice and friendly. I will for sure go back there again! They had like 8 spa chair? Great for a bridal shower.... walked out feeeling all fresh and clean..............wooo weeeeeeeeeee!! They were great with accommodating a last minute appointment and did a okay job with my full set. My nail lady was extremely unprofessional with multiple visible hickeys on her neck and robbing me of my money when I went to pay. I really don't recommend paying with cash because of this. I paid with cash and they miss counted my change and refused to give me my $20 change they owed me from the $100 I gave them. After tipping I asked the lady to give me the rest of my change and she insisted I was wrong and didn't know how much I gave her. I use to love this place but I can no longer give them my business due to how unprofessional this was. So I've been a loyal customer since moving to the Bay Area from LA back in 2017, I've tried a few other salons but decided to stay loyal to this local salon. I've had mostly great experiences except when I get serviced by Lisa. One of the first times she did my nails I asked for a painted french tip design and she said "it would take too long" and pretty much refused to do it. Another time I asked her if she could trim my cuticles and she said, "they don't do that when doing a fill". She rushes through my manicures and it shows in the final product. She is rude and gives attitude when I look at my nails during the process. If I am paying $80+ for a service I have a right to make sure I'm satisfied with the final product. She always seems to be in a bad mood and it's obvious when she is speaking about customers in Vietnamese to other staff. I'm giving three stars out of respect to all the other staff that make me feel welcome and make my visits a relaxing experience. I wish I knew more names of the amazing staff, but I recommend you make an appointment with Be.. she is skilled, sweet, and patient. read more

Love love love this place! I would not listen to all the negative comments, I mean it's a nail shop ... All shops have wait times and they always speak in their language, so if you can't deal with that, I would suggest hiring your own personal manicurist to come to your home. I always feel welcome and comfortable every time I come. "B" is my girl and always takes care of my nails! I started with shellac and now I'm using acrylic powder. I always get compliments on my nails, no matter the design! Nina takes care of my pedicures, making sure to trim all cuticles and gives a nice lengthy foot rub. read more

The last 2 times I've been here the chemical odor hasn't been noticeable. The first time I came here was when I was prego and my feet were swollen and in desperate need of a pedicure. I really like coming here because I've walked in at 6:45pm (after work) and they still take me. They put me in a chair as soon as possible...so even though I may have to wait a little while it's ok because I'm enjoying my time soaking. Also, you can't beat their pricing! read more

Soooo I love Tina and Wendy but I sadly won't be back. The last two times I went I saw someone else - both times she asked me for a larger tip. I had a fill which is 20.00 and gave her a 5.00 tip - second time I got a pedicure and a fill and left her 10.00 , both times she asked me for more money after I handed her the tip, I didn't have more cash and didn't feel like I was being cheap. I don't know, it was uncomfortable and in poor taste and it made me feel awkward. I found another place across town to avoid this happening again and since I'm a walk in - it's just easier to go somewhere else. Made an appointment at 545 and did not even get a lady till 645. Other experiences have been filing my cuticle till it bled, dremeling my sister's skin which made her tear up. I have been going to this place for years now and today was the first day I have had to make a complaint. I came to get my gel pedicure before my spring break trip and I usually have Lisa do my pedicure, SHES GREAT but she was unfortunately busy the time I had walked in and so she had JULIE do my pedicure. Julie was pretty aggressive when doing my pedicure but that wasn't the main problem, me being half Vietnamese didn't really make it obvious that I understood Vietnamese but I did and what Julie was saying about the other clients were just ungrateful and the comments were about the amount she got tipped. Her making these comments made me sure that she was definitely not getting a tip from me. As I paid for my pedicure she had the audacity to demand a tip from me and when I said I didn't have cash at the moment just to play it off she had demanded me to tip with card. I think that asking for a tip is just rude , because if you earned it with great customer service then you would have gotten a tip. End of story , please don't do service with Julie :) read more

I don't get my nails done very often, but of the few times I do, I come here. It's usually really crowded here so I can at 9AM on a Saturday and were one of the first people in the salon. I was serviced right away. First, I had my standard pedicure. I noticed how sanitary and clean this place was with the services. They used a liner in the area I soak my feet in. This is great so I'm not touching the same surfaces that other people have put their feet into. Also, all their metal tools were sanitized well. You can tell b/c they unwrapped them from blue packaging. Similar to how they do it with tools and instruments in the operation room. This is all a big plus to me as I'm anal about having other people's germs getting on me and having an infection of some sorts. The pedicure itself was good. Nothing to complain about it. The lady did an excellent job on painting my toe nails and scrubbing my feet. Other than being really ticklish and spazzing when getting my feet scrubbed, they turned out really nice as my feet were really smooth. I also opted for a shellac manicure. Whenever I paint my nails with normal polish, it chips the same day so I went with shellac as the best route. The lady doing mine did a fair job. I have naturally long nails and I wanted my nails to be filed with a square shaped. Sort of like acrylics. They were filed very uneven. I didn't want to complain too much so I just went with it. It's not bad, but noticeable to me. For the most part the manicure was good except the layers of polish were not even. It is sparse in some areas but nothing I'd complain about. I wish they had a larger selection of shellac colors though. Overall, I'll prolly continue to come here again unless I find a cheaper place. It's a good place but not spectacular. read more

I have been going to Diamond Nails for about 15 years. Unfortunately I've had a couple experiences recently which turned me a little sour! I'm very hard on my nails (I do a lot of manual labor) & my nails need to be thicker than normal or they'll break. I was told by one staff member "if you tip me very nicely, I'll do them thick". I'm thinking: "how about you do them the way it works for me, and I'll give you a tip"! A second time a staff member basically DEMANDED a $5 tip for waxing my eyebrows (2 minutes worth of work), that's a 50% tip! She went as far as telling me "I don't have any $1's to make change" AND "I know what kind of car you drive" (like it reflects on my income)! Yeah my car's nice, but it's 20 fricking years old! WTF? PLUS, no one there can really do designs anymore! Sorry for the vent, but I'm EXTREMELY unhappy with their attitude towards a long time customer. I guess they thought wrong about me going elsewhere! Looks clean & the workers there are pretty friendly. I love it when my lady makes Conversation with me introduce herself to me.. I've read quite a bit of the reviews that have been put on here in regards to diamond nails the past five or six years. I've been going to diamond nails now for about two months maybe three and I have been to three or four different people and have realized that Molly is the nail expert that fits me. I've been to other people who didn't do my nails exactly the way that I wanted them done but Molly seems to get them right every time and she is very nice and sociable. Though, I don't get a massage like I see others get, I'm keeping my guard up as far as how they do in the near future! I'm all about customer service and I exhibit great customer service to my customers. I expect the same kind of karma in return! We will see how it goes! read more

I don't know if the lady I had was new or what because my mom goes here and says she loves it but my lady did not do a good job. I had an appointment and they took me right away even though I was early which was nice. The building is big and clean and has a TV. However, I came in to get gel taken off and a regular polish change. After she took off the gel and was getting ready for the polish change, I noticed that there was still little bits of the old polish on a lot of my nails left and asked her to fix it. Once she started filing my nails and she was done, I rubbed my finger on the edge of my nails and almost ALL of them were still rough! Then after she put the polish on she didn't get close enough to my skin on the sides so the side of my nails were still blank and I had to ask her to put polish closer to the edges. 3 issues in 1 appointment. The price was good but I don't think I'll be back here. read more

I was super hesitant about writing a review in regards to this business but after reviewing their new menu I could not resist. Mind you, I have been attending this business since about 1997 when they used to have their own number system, in case you don't know what that is you used to get your own boxed tools with your own personal number so you knew that those tools were only being used on you. Unfortunately this business grew and they got rid of the number system. Over the years there has been a significant time Gap to where I had not attended this Salon due to moving the different cities that were not nearby. Either way, for the past 3 years I have been attending this shop and my go to technician was Lisa. I say was because after the menu was printed a month ago I stopped attending the salon. Why? Because I have been getting ripped off! I'm assuming that they got tired of being questioned about their prices so they finally came out with an updated menu. During my last visit and during my payment transaction I came across the menu, at the same time I noticed my technician Lisa appearing to be a little bit nervous, rushing through the transaction and quickly going back to her desk. Once I got to my car, and still reading the menu hey, I realized that Lisa has been ripping me off for three years. And what I mean by ripping me off is that she has been overcharging me for my fills, on top of receiving about a $10 tip. I did the calculations in my head and I am pretty much owed over $500 from Lisa, from the time I came back to this place up until a month ago. I came back to this business because I needed somebody to give me a great set of nails and to have a go-to person for my wedding. I must say that when she did do my nails for my wedding it was just another normal set of nails there's nothing exciting about this place really. I didn't have time to argue at this point. [And of the many times I asked her to do things different, even mentioning that I will provide my own items that they don't offer and they can still charge me their prices I was still fought with about my nails and how I wanted them. Yes I could go somewhere else that offers more services, but when someone does your nails good and when they do them right you keep going to them.] But I must say after stumbling upon this menu and realizing that I've been getting ripped off for 3 years I will never come back to this place and I will never recommend another person to this place ever again. Perhaps it was a sign from the universe as her skills are ok, she is less personable now and rushed through your set. You WILL find flaws once you're put in the daylight. Go elsewhere and get what you want with your $$$$$ ALWAYS GRAB A MENU IF YOU'RE NEW TO THE SALON! P.S. I went to this nail salon for my first set of gel nails back in March of this year. When I arrived, I was told that my nails were too short for gel to look good, so I should get acrylic tips. Being unknowledgeable about this sort of thing, I trusted her and got tips with gel on top. She began to drill my nails. While getting them done, I noticed she was rushing, drilling my cuticles to the point that they hurt. Well, about a couple weeks later, I developed a wart on my left hand pointer finger right along the side of my nail. It turned red and got very painful, to the point where it actually looked more like an infection. Four months, and multiple doctor/dermatologist treatments later, and my finger is finally back to normal. I spoke with my dermatologist, and she informed me that salons can be prone to spreading the HPV virus, which causes warts. I have also done my own research and read multiple accounts of people getting warts and other viruses in salons that are not clean. This place overall did not seem very clean, and I wish I had taken that more seriously and gone somewhere else. Do not go to this place if you can! read more

This is the BEST nail shop. I used to come here when I lived in Castro Valley. I moved across the bay and went to several nail shops in foster City as well as San Mateo. I was NEVER happy with my nails. they never lasted more than 1 week. After trying several shops only to find myself unhappy, I decided to go back to Diamond Nails. The shop had new people - from when I had been there before. I got my nails done and I was once again very happy. I now continue to go there - even though I live across the bay. To me the 20 minute drive + bridge toll is well worth it. I can count on my nails lasting 2 to 3 weeks. They always look great and I always make my appointments with the same girl and she knows exactly what I like. Her name is Bea, she does an amazing job. 5 STAR for sure. read more

Worst salon ever. I got my mom a gift card here, she was treated horribly. They asked for more tip. She was bleeding all over the place and her nail technician told her it was her fault for having soft nails. They completed insulted her and were all coming over to look at her bleeding nails.
