They were professional, respectful of our property, got the job done safely and quickly. We were fortunate these folks were willing and able to assist us with the prompt assessment and removal of a problematic tree on our property line. In fact - they went above beyond! In addition to removal of the felled tree, they also removed a few pesky offshoot trees, old shrubbery, and previously cut branches that were in the way. Mark kindly included this additional work in the original price! Truly an excellent value for their service, and we would not hesitate to recommend them for any job requiring a licensed arborist. As a side note: Please do yourself a big favor and go with a professionally licensed (and insured) arborist, not an amateur handyman. I have been seeking people and services to do this job for a while, and there's some shady folks out there. I'll tell you from experience: a $5k quote from some guy in a pickup truck just to cut down the tree is NOT the way to go. (Mark and crew did that AND removed the tree for disposal ...for LESS!) Said person couldn't even produce a business card, let alone proof of a business license. Hey, buddy - just because someone in the neighborhood had you do some handy work for them, it DOES NOT mean you can safely fell a 2 story tall tree that's less than 10 feet from our roofline. Also beware of lowball offers from some guys driving around the neighborhood. If anyone gets hurt or something goes wrong - bad times. It's worth the price for having the job done right when you have a contract with a reasonable professional.

My front yard was struggling, overtaken by weeds, under-watered, and too many grass types in one lawn. He methodically approached my project with a vision that aligned with mine to increase curb appeal. He used product to first kill the yard. Several weeks later after the grass/weeds were lifeless, he mowed, then tilled multiple times to loosen up the old thatch layer. He applied top soil and installed zoysia plugs. Some additional work that he completed was the repair of sprinkler lines to ensure all areas of the yard had good overlapping coverage of watering. He revamped the planter area with some red cinder and installed edging that I selected from Home Depot made of hard rubberized material. Overall, I am thorougly pleased with the final product and would recommend Ernesto Yard Service to family and friends. He is honest, hard-working, and is not out to gouge and make a killing off of you. I'm not sure if this review will be tied to the photos that I posted, but you'll know what I am talking about. I took before and after photos to capture the extent of the yard transformation. Thank you Ernesto!

I'm very disappointed with the behavior of an A&K Landscaping employee during their recent…read moremaintenance work at a neighboring apartment building. On Tuesday, September 23rd, an A&K employee trimmed a large portion of an avocado tree on my property that overhangs into the apartment's yard. While I completely understand and have no issue with trimming branches that extend beyond the shared fence line, what happened afterward was unacceptable. The employee dumped all of the tree trimmings--equivalent to a full pickup truck load--onto my side of the fence without asking or informing me. When I approached him to ask if he was planning to clean up the mess, his response was dismissive and unprofessional. He said something like, "No, it's your tree and it's making a lot of leaves to clean up," as if that justified dumping a huge amount of debris onto my property. I had to explain to him that you can't cut down someone else's tree and then leave the mess behind for the property owner to deal with. Only after I moved the debris back on their side and a lot of back and forth did he finally decide to take the trimmings and haul them away on their truck. To make matters worse, I immediately left a voicemail and sent a text to the company's owner, Alika Peterson, asking for a call back to discuss the situation. I called again later the same day and followed up the next day as well. As of now, I have not received any response from Mr. Peterson, which only adds to the frustration and unprofessionalism of this experience. I was appalled by this blatant lack of respect for my property and their apparent attempt to get away with it simply because they thought no one was home at 9 a.m. If the tree had been a genuine nuisance, I would have been more than willing to work with the property owner to resolve it. However, it is not the decision of an A&K employee to make, nor is it acceptable for them to dispose of debris in this manner. I hope A&K Landscaping reconsiders how they train their employees on handling these kinds of situations and improves their responsiveness to customer concerns.

They took my initial ideas and enhanced them with the lava rock path, back bed and even placed my huge blue pot in the right spot to highlight aesthetic purpose and balance the area. The attention to detail was second to none as I watched them move lava rocks an inch this way or swap them out to ensure the visual flow as well as functional path were right. I don't think I've smiled so much in the past 24 hours watching them do the work and now enjoying the result. I felt their pricing was fair and competitive and have already recommended them to friends. Don't hesitate to contact.

Apparently & come to find out, they were supposed to cut down a neighbors pine instead of mine. When I contacted President Jason Blair at the time for financial compensation, he claimed that a sub contractor by the name of Kevin E. He suggested that I change it to see if that would fix it first. If it doesn't he explained what he would do to fix it and his charges. Of course Jason was spot on correct in his diagnosis and the sprinkler line was intact and worked fine after I changed the diaphragm. If your like me and not quite a gardening type but enjoy the looks of a nice grass yard or lawn,…read moreSynthetic grass/turf is the way to go. Before contacting Total Landscape, I had the unfortunate experience of dealing with NyLawn (another company specializing in turf installation). From first impressions to constant waiting for a response etc, it was a really unprofessional and frustrating experience. I was ready to give up until I came across Total Landscape instead. I gave them a call and left a message, then in a matter of minutes I received a call back from the owner Travis. I accomplished more in a phone call than I did in taking the time to drive to Nylawn's show room and the constant calls to set up an estimate appointment. Which by the way was never returned until a not so stellar email and Yelp review I left them which was pretty sad. In less than a week Travis set me up with an appointment with Gina his estimator. In that time, if I had any questions or concerns, the communication was swift and very open. The estimate appointment went smooth as Gina was very professional, approachable and knowledgable of the material. Instead of doing a deposit I decided to pay for this project up front and Travis made it very easy to pay via email. Such a major benefit vs making a trip to an office. Invoice, receipts and service contracts were all sent through email immediately! The installation went smooth, there were a few snags along the way with the ground itself yet they managed and would strive for nothing less than a perfect project. Project took 2 days from beginning to end along with an extra day to make sure everything is set which showed their attention to detail and passion for perfection. The lawn itself is amazing, they only carry the best top quality material. My friends and family loved the backyard and were impressed with real look and feel of the lawn. They admitted to having their doubts but were quick to say they were now believers. I would recommend Travis and his team any day over any other company out there. There is no fair competition because no one can match their professionalism, seamless communication and the attention to detail in their work. Customer for life.
