Mr. Takenaka came to my home to did a thorough inspection of the system and his recommendation was to keep the system because it was basically intact and it would increase the value of the home when I sell it. I've had Landscaping work done a few times since I've been a homeowner (23) years and I can tell…read moreyou that it's very hard to find a landscaping company that follows through, communicates regularly, has reasonable prices, and actually does excellent work. Luckily, I came across Cary who is the owner of Takenaka Landscaping who actually does all of the things I just mentioned. On my most recent dealing with Cary, he was very prompt when responding, came out right away to assess my yard, and took care of my yard issues (leaking sprinkler/plant issues) right away. I had contacted several other companies just to price around and I ran into all kinds of issues with them. Some didn't call back, some wanted to charge me just to give me an estimate, and one company that was going to fix my leaking sprinkler cancelled on me the day that they were supposed to come out for the job. In the end, Cary promptly addressed all of my yard issues. I highly recommend Takenaka Landscaping if you're looking for a landscape company!

And they told me how I can clean them myself. I really appreciated their time, and how they did not unnecessarily charge me to deal with my "problem." Much Mahalo to Sean and his team at Hawaiian Turfgrass. …read more The day after my review Sean reached out to me to address the concerns and offered me 40sq of grass as a apology for the last order. We emailed back and forth to confirm a date and time I could come back to pickup the new sheets. The day of I drove up to their site in Mililani and was surprised how many sheets of grass was extended as an apology. TBH, I was only expecting to pick up a few sheets of grass, but to my surprise and deep gratitude he was kind enough to give me a lot more sheets and again apologized for the last order. Sean and Hawaiian Turfgrass definitely understand the importance of word of mouth referrals and customer appreciation. I will definitely use their services again and refer anyone I know that needs quality grass from a company that stands behind their product. Again much Mahalos to Sean for responding so quickly, being a generous and shrewd business owner, and continuous success to you!!!!!

I hired Aloha ʻĀina Landscaping for a drainage project at my home that involved tying my downspouts…read moreinto underground drain lines with pop-up emitters and restoring the lawn afterward. Overall, I'm very happy with how the project turned out. The installation itself went well, and the crew did a good job keeping the work areas organized and putting the yard back together after the trenching. The real test came after a heavy storm, when I noticed some pooling and settling along portions of the restored trenches. I contacted Ea, the project manager, and he took the concerns seriously. He arranged for a crew to come back out, and they ended up addressing both sides of the house. They lifted and regraded the affected sod, added material underneath to help with settling, cleaned out the drain lines, and thoroughly flushed and tested both downspouts and emitters to make sure everything was flowing correctly. Ea also followed up with photos and videos documenting the work, which I appreciated. What impressed me most was that they didn't argue about the concerns or disappear once the original job was completed. They came back, corrected the issues, tested the system, and made sure I was satisfied with the result. The drainage system is functioning properly now and the yard looks much better. Based on both the quality of the work and the way Aloha ʻĀina handled the follow-up, I would definitely recommend them.

Stu was incredibly generous with his time, knowledge, and care. He didn't just sell us plants -- he educated us. He walked us through exactly how to help them thrive in their new environment, from soil considerations to watering patterns to sunlight needs. You can immediately tell he genuinely cares about both the plants and the people taking them home. As someone who values stewardship of the land, I deeply appreciated how intentional and thoughtful he was in explaining how to properly care for the plants so they can flourish. And he even let my son and another family purchasing plants there pet his baby sheep. His team was equally impressive. Every team member who assisted us was kind, patient, and eager to help. They carefully loaded the plants into our vehicle and made sure everything was secure. It felt less like a transaction and more like being welcomed into a community of people who truly love what they do. If you're looking for expertise, integrity, and genuine aloha in the landscaping and nursery space, Aloha ʻĀina Landscaping is the real deal. We're grateful and will absolutely be back.
