I got an email from Lucio late Friday night telling me to call him. I called early in the morning on Saturday to no answer, left and message, and began my journey down to Hartford. When I got to the dealership, they informed me that they sold the car last night. These guys wasted my time AND my money.

Zero stars! To say that I am frustrated is the understatement of the year! I booked a 2-month…read moremidsize SUV rental through Orbitz and picked it up at this location. First I was greeted by a maskless employee who offered me a Jeep Compass with a terrible cigarette smell and burn marks inside of it as well as crushed chips on the floor, major body damage on the back passenger door and warning lights on the dash saying it needed an oil change and that the airbag was disabled. The only other car available was another Jeep Compass that had an almost dead key fob. There were no batteries available, so an employee from another Budget location brought a new battery nearly 45 minutes later, and that turned out to be completely dead. I asked if the man helping me could swap batteries with the other Jeep's key fob, and that worked. The second car was in better shape but had not been sanitized at all. There was trash, crumbs and dirt all over the floors and trunk, and most the windows had smears and handprints all over them. The outside was also filthy. I took the car because there were no others available and I had already waited over an hour. I immediately brought it to a car wash to vacuum the inside, clean the outside and sanitize all the surfaces (all on my dime). Definitely not how I should have to start off my expensive 2 month rental! Flash forward a couple weeks...I am in upstate NY skiing and the windshield wiper fluid reservoir is bone dry, so I stop to buy a container to fill it. Despite doing this, that function on the car does not work and I almost get in an accident because my vision is impaired. Then the climate control screen and music volume starts going haywire whenever I start the car in the cold. It continues doing this for at least 20 minutes while I try to drive. Seriously not okay! Then to top things off, the rental company never gave me an ice scraper/broom, so I have to remove any snow with my hands or buy one myself. Did I mention that I have this car for another month and a half??? Thanks Budget! WTF!?!?

I have a monthly membership for unlimited washes and they do a pretty decent quick job. This location isn't my favorite because the staff is not very attentive. My car was off track and it scared the hell out of me! I believe this is because the staff was not paying attention to make sure my tires were properly aligned with the track. There are also two that merge into the one car wash and can get hectic with the usually distracted staff. I recommend going in the first line to the left as that line flows more quickly. You may get stuck in the second line if nobody is directing the traffic, which is usually the case. Otherwise for a quick wash, especially during the winter season, it's not bad at all unlimited for $25/month.

I get it's tough being underpaid and dealing with lots of moving parts with Uber x Hertz, but this guy's default demeanor single-handedly ensured I'll avoid Hertz as a company nationwide/worldwide at all costs going forward. Beyond that awful dude, they rented me a car that wasn't eligible for Uber but it took them two days to figure out that was their fault and then had me drive back to swap it out for a car that had *many* problems, including a key fob that only worked sometimes causing me to be locked out of the vehicle and unable to use it multiple times. Hertz corporate issued a partial refund but I will never, ever, ever, ever, ever go to this place again.

Yes well pass on all that. For clarity on the work that they actually did for me, it was fairly priced but all the other things I was offered. Yeah I could have spent $1000 for a $12 filter a few sprays of intake cleaner and $50 worth of fluids.

As soon as I pulled up, a young man came to my window and asked if I in came for emissions. He said it would be $20 in cash, and to give him five minutes. I handed him the cash and my keys. He immediately drove the car to the garage. I waited outside for around five minutes. Then he returned with a report that said "pass". I was good to go. On my way home, I noticed my check engine light was on, it was not on when I arrived at the shop. However, after a short drive down the road it went away on its own. I'm very happy with the fast and efficient service I received at Nutmeg Auto Service.

Got into an accident during a snowstorm (I am okay, thank you!) and needed to have my car towed…read more The Windsor PD called for the tow truck and I have to say I had a really positive experience. The individual who towed my car was very nice and concerned for my safety. It was actively snowing outside and he ensured I got home safely and didn't stand outside in the cold. When my insurance adjustor called the following day to review the estimate on my car, he informed me that my car was being kept indoors and not outside in the snow. The adjustor had gone to other lots in the same day where he had to unearth vehicles from under the snow. While this was my first (And hopefully, only) experience with Mike's, the adjustor told me that anytime he goes to look at a car in their lot, he is impressed with their kindness, promptness and overall care. I spoke with them today when I had to arrange for my car to be towed to a collision center and then person I spoke with was also very friendly and took care of things quickly. Getting into an accident is an inherently crappy situation but it's nice to know there are people out there who can extend grace and kindness during a difficult time!
