I can't say anything about the past, more recently the place has been immaculately clean, well organized and well stocked. they even added a new carwash and beer cave. Compared to other gas stations, the prices are really good. Staff is very helpful and accommodating. For example, they sell ice really cheap. If they run out, they will make you one on the spot. very important when ice runs out during the summer. Bathrooms are very clean and cleaned daily. One of the few places that sells E85 if you race like me. My only complaint/suggestion is to get a hot dog machine. I went on a Wednesday around noon, and it was a breeze, no line, super easy access. The payment options were great: you could pay with cash, inside with a code, or by credit or debit card. I especially liked that the machine supports Apple Pay. It was super convenient for a touchless transaction. They have three options: $5.99 for the basic, $11 for the middle tier, and $13 for the premium. I opted for the $11 wash, but honestly, I'm really disappointed. My car came out just as dirty as when I went in, hardly any improvement. The wash quality was really subpar, and even though there was a strong wind drying system, it didn't dry my car at all. I still had water spots everywhere. on the roof, the sides, just a mess. I also should mention, Yelp doesn't let me separate the car wash from the gas station or food mart, so I didn't use those amenities. But based solely on the car wash, I won't be returning. For many years, I would say I've appreciated this Mini Mart. They don't serve the most healthy snacks, but was a safe and reliable store for kids to get snacks after school. Next door to this Shell is a strip mall full of after school activities and doctors offices. Very practical for families. Last pandemic, it's different. Now... even the trusted car wash is not working. Today, it stoped half way through the wash and asked us to back up and deposit more money. Huh? We called the store. No one answered. I used to frequent this location on a weekly basis until I switched over to using only Chevron brand gasoline. While they don't have the best prices, it's still reasonable. My main reason for coming here was its convenient location. I'm able to fill the tank and hop right onto the 57 freeway. Every now and then, I'll still come here if I have to drive a loaner car. The pumps are always in good working order. However, one gripe that I have with these pumps is that they don't have the touchless payment (e.g. Google Pay) working. They want you to swipe your credit card. Come on! Get with the times! read more

I went today for a car wash. I went straight to the car wash and sign said cash or code only. So I got out and went inside to pay. The cashier is almost going to take my card then she changes her mind and says " the car wash has been giving us problems all day so I don't know if it's working". This place sucks! It's really never been great. The change in ownership just resulted in the same sh*t but different toilet. The guy that runs the place during the graveyard shift is a major creeper. He'll eyeball you the entire time you are pumping gas. And I'm dude, imagine what he's thinking about when the women are trying to get gas. He seems like the kind of guy that would put cameras in the bathroom. The "carwash" is a complete joke. It doesn't wash well and you might as well just spray your car down with water yourself because it seems like they hardly add any soap or other cleaning solutions including the wax that you pay for. I've never interacted with the new owner, and don't plan to, but everything other people are saying about the previous owner, "tony" is 100% true. Major attitude problem which I think was caused from inhaling all the gas fumes. From my experience of being eyeballed by the new owner, my instincts are telling me this guy is also a problem. I've been patronizing this station ever since I moved to Diamond Bar. Not so much for their gas prices, but more as a convenience. They're not the most competitive station in the area but their gas prices seem par for the course. The times that I have been here, the property and the pump islands are always clean and very well maintained. Access is easy in and easy out. They do have a propane station and an air station available. I rarely use their car wash. I've never had issues with it when I did. There is a self-serve vacuum, next to the air station, close to the exit of the car wash if needed. Inside is about what you would expect in a mini-mart. The inside always looks like a cleaning crew just finished polishing it up. Their cooler offers a wide variety of soft drinks, water, beer, and even milk. That is nice to know. They offer coffee with different blends and other drinks near the coffee area. They are loaded with different types of confections to choose from. I know that they used to sell hot dogs at one time, but I think that was under different management back in the day. I enjoyed them when they were here. At the counter, I believe I have made transactions with every employee that works there, at least once, at all hours of the day and night. I've never had a bad experience, or any complaints, with any of them. They also sell lotto tickets and scratchers. I only play when the jackpots are astronomical. There is one particular employee that insists on selling me defective lotto tickets every single time when I do play. (I know they have no control on what the machine picks and prints!) I don't do too bad when I purchase tickets from other employees though. It's just that one employee. ??? They do offer a public restroom. You will need the key "near" the cashier for access outside. I have never had the need to use their restroom, so I cannot make comments on that. I do wish that they would bring hot dogs back. Because they don't, I believe that doesn't support the need of me removing a star from my rating. That would be "nit-picking." I can't hear sometimes when I get a big paycheck. It's about 15 cents cheaper across the street at the Arco station but then again it's usually cheaper at Arco. This place is usually really clean and I like the fact that has a car wash that doesn't charge too much. Shell has lowered prices but regular gas for 3.89 is for cash pay today at Walnut.Though checking the LA area the lowest gas price is at 3.69. That means Shell is charging 20-30 cents extra profit per gallon no wonder their earnings are sky rocketing. To get a better deal go early in the morning for a fill up you get cold compressed gasoline and vapor loss is less. Pump slowly to reduce vapor loss and you save more. Check the pressure in your tires at least 35 psi for good mileage. If you push in more air the ride becomes noisy and rough. Tell all your political leaders to reduce gasoline prices. read more

Haven't been in this place for a long time, decided to check it out because it was in the area. After a few years the size has remained reasonable; not a super store by any means, but definitely not lacking. While perusing through shelves of inventory, I was specifically looking for an energy drink or health drink. To my surprise, just to the left of the register was a section of cheap energy drinks and health drinks. Also coupled with sandwiches, with what seemed to be like ham and turkey. The beer selection is not as extensive for my liking, though that isn't necessary. As the shelves are plenty stocked with viable alternatives to browse about. Food selection is okay, mainly limited by size. If it's any reason I prefer this place to another is the quality of the staff that has worked there over the years. The RUDEST staff member I have ever encountered. Also, they owe my $20.00. I was told I was wrong, not even in a nice way either. Work on some manners. You just lost a customer that would fill up twice a week, 1 car wash a every other week, and buy snacks for my commute home after work. So I had to stop by this shell on Diamond bar and brea canyon to charge gas on my motorcycle on a normal friday, paid $ 10.00 to the cashier and when I started to pump the gas, I sarted to see how all the gas was spelling on my tank from a defective nozzle seal. I was like Wtf! Then I rushed inside the cashier and asked for the manager(wich was present) and lethim know about the failure on the nozzle. So after trying for himself and making the spill worst he said all I can do for you is giving you a towell to clean your bike. Wtf ! he also ofered me $0.05 for the gas spill . Horrible experience with the car wash. After sitting in the line assisting my turn to get my car washed, I paid with my debit card at the machine located at the entrance of the car wash. I selected the $6.99 "Deluxe" wash (always charges me $7.00, robbed for a penny each time...whatever). It asks if you want a receipt which one will NEVER print if you say "yes" so I selected no. Why bother?! I proceeded forward to the wash and the lights flashed "DEPOSIT AMOUNT"...meaning no payment was made supposedly! I angrily had to pull through, park and go inside to inquire as to what happened. Conveniently, the woman at the counter asked what I paid and then proceeded to tell me she had no record of payment. I signed into my bank account to show her the pending $7.00 to Shell for he car wash. She basically said "too bad" and tried to give me an excuse that it was not their fault but an Internet issue. Regardless, I still waited over 20 minutes, was out $7.00 and super frustrated. I demanded she give me a code and she did so reluctantly while telling me I should just wait a few days for the money to "go away". Shhhhh! Unbelievable. Never again. Lesson learned. The people here are rude!!! I'm actually a frequent customer here (not anymore though after tonight) along with the rest of my family and friends. I would often get gas here and a car wash and pick up some snacks at their mini mart. I got off work this evening and needed to pick up some quick snacks and intended on purchasing a car wash; as I pulled into the parking space right outside the mart, I received a business call that required me to stay in the car for a few minutes to complete. Next thing you know I have some old Korean guy storming out the mart pointing and screaming at me from outside my car saying "you go away! Over here parking only 5 minutes! Go!" Well then I guess I just won't buy that car wash and those snacks then after I complete my call and I won't ever come back (I will also make sure my friends and family don't ever give them business again)! I wanted to tell people of the lack of customer service by the attendant of this station. My 80yr old mom was getting her car washed when her car battery died. She asked for help from both the attendant who proceeded to tell her that "she should have her car checked before she came to her car wash "! Who also told her she was costing her a lot of money! But I also want to mention that the eight cars behind her also refused to help her push her car out of the way. I want to give my appreciation to the two un-named girls that helped her . They did not know her and did not mind getting wet to help her . My mom has been going to the same car wash for years and it has been in the last month or so that the new attendant has been there and never seems to have the "customer service" attitude.
