That said if the facility cannot keep up with those basic items of maintenance, how would you expect them to care for someone whom you Love and hold near and dear to your heart. Upon review I've come to know that this place provides sincere care and what that means is the "certified nurse assistants" whom hustle and bustle up and down those halls to answer call lights, feed, change, read to their patients and so much more is what makes this facility worth writing about. It's not the registered nurses, or the dietician's or the LVN's those people you'll find sitting behind a desk somewhere hiding out I can only imagine because their lazy. I am beyond furious with the Regency Grand at West Covina…read more My mother-in-law lived there for 15 years. Fifteen years. She and my father-in-law spent six of those years together in the same assisted living apartment. The staff and management knew them well. We believed she was part of a community. We trusted that she was cared for. After my father-in-law passed in 2017, everything changed. With new ownership and management came a noticeable decline -- fewer gatherings, fewer thoughtful touches, and a clear shift away from the residents who had built that community. The warmth disappeared. The effort disappeared. The food declined significantly. We dined with her often and eventually began taking her out because meals there were so poor. Over the past year, she lost 35-40 pounds. She was not able to tell us about the food because she had a stroke many years before and could not speak. We later learned she wasn't eating -- and no one alerted us. No one noticed. Or if they did, they failed to act. That is inexcusable. After 15 years in the same apartment, her unit was never properly updated. The carpet was filthy. The bathroom cabinetry was falling apart. The space looked worn down and neglected. For two years, we were repeatedly told renovations were coming. They never happened. Then, after Christmas, she became ill and passed away 20 days later. She spent her final three days on hospice in the very place she had called home for a decade and a half. In those last days, only three staff or management members came to see her. Three. After 15 years. We did hear one staff member comment that she was sad she would no longer get clothes from my MIL (who was always very generous). After her passing, there was no card from the Regency management. No condolences. No acknowledgment to my husband, who had just lost his mother. They once posted notices honoring residents who passed. This time -- nothing. We did everything we could to give her a life filled with dignity and love. We trusted Regency to do the same within their walls. They did not. This is more than disappointment. It is heartbreak -- and a profound sense of betrayal.

It's quiet and no one bothers you unless you want to socialize which I don't really socialize because I don't really want people bothering me all the time but as far as the community and the management and the maintenance their top gun so I just wanted to let corporate know that you have some good people that work here and some good people to live here. It's a shame that the rents are what they are but hey that's everywhere

Visiting Angels referred me to House of Grace 2 House of Grace 2 West Covina was perfect! It's located on a quiet, safe street. The house is beautiful inside and out and is very clean and safe for elder care. The managers, Michelle and Rebecca are very polite and knowledgeable about dementia and elder care. They explained patient happiness, safety and care is their number one priority! They are limited to only 6 patients in the house, which I liked a lot better than the bigger care facilities. BTW, they both work at the facility and gave me their cellphone numbers to call any time, if there were any problems! They gave me a complete tour of House of Grace 2 West Covina, which including meeting the staff and talking to other residents and their families. Everyone there was very happy, which wasn't like the other residential care facilities I visited. There was no pressure, and they truly wanted what was best for my mom. Their visiting hours are generous, and they will accommodate special request. (yay!) I did have one concern! There was an internet post about a lawsuit against House of Grace 2 West Covina. I did some research and found out it was bogus allegations made by a questionable law firm, who makes their living accusing and suing elder care facilities. Just to make sure, I contacted Department of Social Services CDSS, who licenses, inspects and regulates residential care facilities, and asked about any complaints or violations House of Grace 2 West Covina had. I was happy to learn, there were never any!...Zero! None!! Another reason why everyone hates ambulance chasing attorneys!!(LOL) The false internet accusations almost made me leave, I'm so glad I didn't!! House of Grace 2 has another location in Claremont, House of Grace 1. It was also professionally staffed and run by the same two ladies. I visited it, and it was great! But House of Grace 2 West Covina was closer, and more convenient for me to visit my mom. The price was negotiable, and about $ 600.00 per month less then the bigger facilities. So, if you're looking for a great care facility for your loved one. A beautiful small place where they really care about your loved one, House of Grace 2 West Covina is the best!
