This is by far the best place to get your teeth checked up and done. Why you ask? Well pictures are worth a thousand words and my previous dentist in south OC was so damn lazy and did such a crappy work at fixing my cavities with fillings that I had to have them redone. Now my teeth actually feels clean thanks to the wonderful people at this dental group and Dr James C

Karla C.

Before and After I'm scared of the dentist period. This is my first time I ever had excellent service, where I felt comfortable and educated on what is going on with my teeth. You can ask any question and the doctor and staff will answer. Staff is super friendly as well! Totally recommend!

I recently had a dental emergency after experiencing severe tooth pain, and I'm extremely grateful…read morefor how quickly Dr. Doshi took action. As soon as I reached out and explained what was going on, he took my concerns seriously and immediately arranged for me to be seen by a colleague who specializes in root canals. The entire process was seamless. When I arrived at the office he referred me to, they were already expecting me and had all of my information because Dr. Doshi had sent everything over ahead of time. I was able to get the treatment I needed right away, and the relief afterward was incredible. What I appreciated most was that Dr. Doshi didn't just send me somewhere and leave it at that. He followed up with me afterward, reviewed my X-rays, and has continued managing my care. He is now working on getting my crowns completed so we can finish the restorative process. I'm expected to make a full recovery, and I truly believe that is thanks in large part to Dr. Doshi listening to me and acting quickly when I told him something wasn't right. It means a lot to have a dentist who genuinely follows through and makes sure his patients are taken care of. I'm incredibly thankful for everything he has done for me!

Two cracked fillings turned into an $18,000 bill. Get a second opinion before you let him touch…read moreyour teeth. In my experience, Dr. Doshi cared more about his pockets than my dental health. A second dentist confirmed much of the work he did on me was unnecessary. I came in to fix two cracked fillings, one on each side. On my left side, he put an inlay, a new and more expensive material, on the cracked tooth. Then he said he needed to replace the healthy fillings on the teeth below it to match. My second dentist said that wasn't necessary. The cracked tooth should simply have been filled to match the material already there. On my right side, he replaced fillings without ever telling me. When I asked why he'd replaced fillings that had no symptoms, he said he saw an air bubble. He never mentioned that before he started drilling. After replacing the healthy fillings on my left, he told me there was a 50/50 chance I'd need a root canal because the filling was very close to the nerve. That's when I stopped everything. When I said I wanted a second opinion, he pushed back. When I wouldn't budge, he told me to remember that he never suggested a root canal. Getting my own x-rays was a fight. He refused to give me digital copies and made me photograph them on my phone. My new dentist needed the digital files for diagnosis, and he still refused, saying his practice never gives out digital x-rays. Only after I showed him that HIPAA gives patients the right to their records, and told him I'd report him to the Dental Board, did he release them. Even then, the pre-treatment x-ray of the healthy fillings he replaced without my consent never arrived. He emailed me saying he had sent it. My new dentist says they still don't have it. I was so shaken by all of this that I didn't want to set foot in his office again. He still had several inlays I'd paid for, so I asked him to mail them to my new dentist by a specific date, well before my appointment there, or let me pick them up. After a lot of back and forth, he emailed me that he was "cooperating" with my new dentist. I took that to mean they were on their way. But when I showed up for my appointment the following week, they had nothing. My new dentist showed me Dr. Doshi's email refusing to release the inlays and saying he'd process a refund instead. A week later, the only refund I've received is for an implant he never did, which my new dentist also said was largely unnecessary. Now I'm paying $5,000 to have new ones made, and that's still far less than what Dr. Doshi was charging. The pattern was everywhere. He planned an inlay for one small filling that my new dentist said only needed a simple composite filling. He told me I needed an implant and Invisalign, and my new dentist didn't see a real need for either. Two repairs turned into about eight. From the look of it, it was an ongoing money grab. The quality wasn't good either. After he cemented the first set of fillings, I had a lot of sensitivity and pain. He adjusted them over and over and never fixed it. On my first visit, my new dentist properly adjusted them and the sensitivity dropped a lot. I still have sensitivity, and I chew harder foods with my front teeth. Your teeth are with you for life. I feel personally violated that he damaged mine through unnecessary work. In my experience, he was dishonest, unprofessional, and put his profits ahead of my health. I will be reporting this to the Dental Board of California. My honest advice: go elsewhere. If you do see him, get every procedure explained before he starts, ask for an itemized treatment plan in writing, and be wary of treatment he suggests that you didn't come in for.

At the front desk, Isabela was welcoming, informative, and knowledgeable. Dr. Jeon was professional, reassuring, and cautious. Erika was extremely helpful and amazing. Everyone was so friendly and helped me stay cool, calm, and collected throughout the entire visit.‍ They even sent me home with an amazing post-op care kit that included an ice pack, sunglasses, a T-shirt, and everything I needed for recovery. I truly couldn't have been in better hands. Thank you to the entire team! Highly recommend!

Dr. Joe brought a level of more modern equipment and expertise, but the price tag for my co-pays quickly started increasing and got incredibly high. Then after a couple of years, I was no longer seeing Dr. Joe because he didn't see the patients that had my Delta dental anymore, so I started seeing another lady in the office. She was nice and everything, but the reason that I stayed with this office was because I love Dr. Joe's bedside manner and his work. I guess because I am not a high dollar patient, I wasn't worthy. I recently called the office to schedule an appointment for a crown and was told that before they could schedule my appointment, I would need to pay my co-pay in full, which would be $700+. I questioned why I would need to pay that before I could even schedule an appointment as I have been a patient there for at least 10 years and always paid my co-pays at the time of service. I was informed this is their new policy. That was it!! I saw another review here that referred to this dental office as money hungry and I could not agree more. I switched my dentist, have my crown scheduled and it's more in the $250 range for my co-pay.

100% RECOMMEND I've…read morebeen sitting on writing a review on Dr. Chen and Skyline dental since forever but I'm finally taking the time! I became a new patient a little over a year ago and I was lucky to find Skyline Dental was in network with my Healthnet PPO dental insurance. I was beginning to tire of my old family dentist (he's literally old and had outdated everything) whom I went to because my parents had been going to him for YEARS but he neglected my teeth and would rather partake in pointless conversation with dental tools in hand! (His name is Dr. Eugene Sekiguchi in Monterey Park if you're wondering) The check-in staff is extremely friendly and patient-something that is a rarity as I've seen many other places with horrible reviews only because the front clerks were jerks. Here, it is nothing like that! Wendy (I believe her name is) gave me a clear price breakdown for everything EVEN IF I CHOSE NOT TO ACCEPT SERVICES. She also gave me a chance to choose which services I'd like to be done and ONLY charged me for those services I approved to be performed (kind of like when you take your car in for service). The dental assistants are also very friendly, efficient, personable, and knowledgeable. On my first visit, they gave me a full check-up and consultation on the health status of my teeth-something my previous dentist kept me COMPLETELY IN THE DARK ABOUT. That was how I found out I had 5 cavities (which explains my minor tooth aches) as well as SEVERE tooth damage due to grinding my teeth at night (because stress). I was under the impression my teeth were 100% healthy due to previous dentist. When Dr. Chen took clear pictures of my teeth for records he took the time to show me that they were really worn down and that I needed to take preventative measures before it gets worse. He also took the time to show me clear x-rays of my cavities, explaining to me exactly what we were looking at. He also talked to me about getting braces should I choose to get them in the future. I have pretty naturally straight teeth IMO and he never made me feel ashamed of my choice not to get braces. These are things I would've never known had I kept going to my old dentist. Harvey, you seriously saved my teeth! On my second visit, I got the first 2 cavities on my bottom jaw taken care of. Mind you, this would be my first time ever getting real nitty gritty work done. I was a little late to this appointment but I called in advance and they still took me! Dr. Chen gave me a little extra to numb the area since it was my first time which was super cool of him. I was drooling like a baby after but my first time experience was a breeze! On my third visit, I got the remaining 3 cavities removed and filled on the top jaw and I literally wanted to fall asleep in the chair. I was very comfortable with their work and felt relaxed and not so anxious as the first time (also had to factor in that I work at 7am and my appointment was after work at 3:30pm). Literally left feeling like a new human after! Unfortunately, I am moving soon and had a change in dental insurance since I got married so I may no longer be coming to Skyline dental (due to the distance it will be from new home) but I would definitely 100% recommend them if they are in network with your insurance!
