Our first contact was with Bret and Skyler when they came to our house and took measurements. We then visited their showroom and they had several good ideas for our bathroom remodel. We signed the contract and work started a short time later. Their foreman, Kurt, was nothing short of amazing. He sent us a preliminary work schedule at the beginning of the project and he also sent an email or a text daily outlining who was coming the next day, what they were going to accomplish and what project was next. Throughout the project Kurt was very fast responding to texts or emailed questions. As for the work, it went very smoothly and right on schedule. The demo guys were on time, mindful of any dust and hauled everything off at the end of their day. The plumber was friendly, very professional and had a few helpful suggestions that we didn't think about in our initial plan. He works a lot with Rise Above and you can tell they have a great working relationship. Next came the tile installation. Their installer, Saul, is an absolute artist and for a one man show he was super fast! You can see why Rise Above uses him. All and all we couldn't be happier and have recommended them to several friends.

We discussed in detail the shape of the pad we wanted and how we wanted it to match our pool surrounding with the acrylic overcoating. Ben acted like it was an easy request and didn't voice or show any concern. He then gave us a quote of $800 - $1000 verbally. Said they would call to schedule his concrete guy to come out over the weekend or first of the next week. Never heard from him until 4 days later, when I received the quote which was several hundred dollars higher than the quote range he gave verbally in our yard. Against my better judgment, I trusted him and approved the portion of the quote I wanted to move forward with. I asked when the approved portion of the job could be done. I was told he needed to check with his concrete guy. A week later, on Nov 3, I finally get a text at 7:22pm stating they will be out the next morning at 9am. I wasn't asked if this time worked for me, which would have been appropriate based on how quickly they were coming. When Ben arrived at my house with the concrete guy, his demeanor was completely different. He would hardly look me in the eye, was rude, condescending and smirking. He was acting as if we hadn't even discussed the details of the project. We absolutely did so during his first visit when he was friendly, courteous and kind. The whole encounter was very strange based on the complete change in his attitude, behavior and demeaning treatment. In addition, Ben also acted as if our request for a rounded 7' X 5' pad was a much more difficult project than he had first indicated. The following day -November 4th, I received a text with and updated estimate. This estimate was over THREE TIMES the initial quote. I was shocked. We went from a quote range of $800-$1000 to a new price of over $3,000. I responded to him sharing my shock regarding this new quote. His response was completely inadequate and unacceptable. Luckily I had downloaded both quotes because as soon as I called him out on his dishonesty, he went into his system and deleted the quotes. Talk about red flag! He was knowingly trying to rip us off after initialy seeming so honest. He then went on to blame his concrete guy as if he himself had no idea how much concrete cost. Are you kidding me? What kind of business is this? CONCRETE is part of your business name and you're telling me you have no idea how much the concrete will cost for a small 7 X 5 pad? Wow. Shady. Be aware that your first quote from llustrious Concrete will be meaningless. Instead, save yourself from dealing with this guy and don't get a quote at all.

We were planning on being closed for our employee Christmas party the following Sunday (the ONLY day of the year we are closed). Adis contacted his crew and they were willing to come in at 6:30am on Sunday and do the job in one day! We did have to be closed Monday so the epoxy could dry but that's so much better than losing 2-3 days business. The outcome was fantastic! They stripped the floors of whatever epoxy was left, put a tinted primer down, epoxy and then polyurethane. Adis personally stopped by a few days later to see if I had any questions, to see if we liked it, etc. They were absolutely reasonably priced (this is not a cheap job to have done) and did a wonderful job. We will have them back to do behind the bar and the back room at some point.

Ryan was very down to earth and real in comparison to previous installers who either never showed up or came back. Ryan was honest and the quote was so much more reasonable to demo tile, lay the vinyl planks and install new base boards. After demolitioning the tile his crew (which are his sons) started to lay the planks and advised me that they weren't snapping together and were defective. I purchase optimax performance, which I was advised by Floor and Decor to be "the best" If you have animals and kids. ​So to find out it was defective was bad. But Ryan's crew was honest and dis not have to say anything and install defective planks. I spoke with Ryan who advised that he could not continue to try to install the flooring as it would fail and he would not allow that to happen on "his watch". We had some issues with floor and decor about this but was able to choose Nucor Performance and was installed perfectly. I want to thank Ryan and his crew for their honesty, professionalism, patience and understanding through this process as it delayed my job a week. I can't imagine how my floors would have turned out after a short time had Ryan and his crew not been honest and halt the job to prevent bad work. The crew helped moved furniture for us, answered questions without frustration and I can't say enough about them. I HIGHLY recommend Lauritsen Flooring if you want an honest company and crew.
