WASTED 4 WEEKS ON FAILED OVEN REPAIR: Technician diagnosed the issue as a thermocouple repair, then we spent 4 weeks waiting for the part and repair job. But after the installation, the oven was still not fixed, then ultimately Dial Appliance told us they couldn't fix it and we should contact Bosch. So now we are 4+ weeks without an oven, and while they refunded us partially, they did not refund the $136 service call fee, which should have gone towards the repair fee since we agreed to the repair, but then they weren't able to do the repair. I don't normally write negative reviews but this was truly a 1-star experience unfortunately, as we paid for wasted time and misinformation. read more

Do not recommend their service or business, especially if your appliance is out of warranty....

After two visits with an assessment and repair after the parts arrived, the ice maker in our Frigidaire refrigerator still doesn't work. To their credit, their customer service (Eugene) was responsive for confirming scheduled appointments (even thought they'd still change the window of arrival beforehand). In addition, they promptly emailed the videos showing that water flowed for the fridge and the sink at similar rates (even though they claim it's not high enough without any quantitative methods). Their tech claims the issues is due to low water pressure, but has no tools to measure this when Frigidaire requires 40 to 120 pounds per square inch (PSI) because this is now the plumber's problem. However, plumbing isn't covered under Electrolux's warranty plan. This omission seems convenient for Electrolux to never be equipped to solve any refrigerator problems while time on the warranty runs out from these known recurring issues with misaligned scheduled appointments in their portal, lack of relevant expertise and tools to rule in or out third-party issues, etc. Michelle (Electrolux's supervisor), who I spoke with on 8/29 around 12:24 pm EDT, knew of these recurring issues and yet chose to reactively follow status quo without any proactive measures to rectify or prevent the same problem from recurring with another vendor who we scheduled for a 2nd opinion. Knowing their business process is flawed in terms of scheduling appointments with the correctly aligned times and not having the proper expertise and tools to troubleshoot onsite with their vendors, this suggests a potential scam or intentional negligence when they can have a plumber increase the water pressures onsite to see if ice can be made or even simply use a water pressure gauge (~$15) to rule this potential issue in or out. By blaming a third-party (e.g., plumbing, electricity) that isn't covered, this is is a recurring issue with Electrolux's warranty program where they seem to contract vendors with poor reviews in part because of misaligned scheduled appointment dates and not having the expertise with tools to properly troubleshoot the issue at the customers' expense. Thus, the vendor can easily blame the issue on a third-party (e.g., electricity, plumbing) without the expertise or tools to troubleshoot or increase the water pressure to then test if ice can be made properly or not with adjustments. Instead, this inefficient and risky process of hoping the vendors have the same scheduled appointment date as Electrolux's portal and then are prepared to troubleshoot and repair seems like a potential scam where Electrolux keeps paying parts and labor requested by its vendors at the customers' expense of time and money from taking days off to see whether their fridge is repaired or not. The irony is both parties are aware of this gap and yet management from both companies refuses to bridge the gap with accountability that maximizes effective use of everyone's time with more satisfaction and repeat business. Instead, just look at the poor reviews from all the vendors contracted by Electrolux with misaligned scheduling of appointments, incomplete repairs with other issues, etc. read more

Pretty incredible service and utmost professionalism. Fridge had an issue of water dripping into the freezer, then freezing (causing an issue to remove drawers) and leaking onto our hardwood floors (warping them). I did all the usual googling and managed to reduce the issues it could potentially be to two, neither of which I could address myself and had to get a professional. Dial was recommended to me by a neighbor in my building. Thankfully, they service Beko, which is not a very common brand. They were suuuuper professional and I couldn't be more pleased with the service, from start to finish. Dial's professional approach was apparent from the start of my initial email. While they weren't available for a phone call Sunday, they emailed me back pretty quick and said they would call me the next day. And they did! The phone call was great. They scheduled my appointment right away, were transparent with what the evaluation would cost, they got me a Certificate of Insurance for my building within 24 hours, and offered to call me in case someone canceled so they could come sooner. I felt very comfortable and felt I could trust them. The tech (Alex) called me 25min before arriving. He arrived in the window of time they suggested. Alex was super professional on the phone and also in person. Everything was please and thank you with him. He explained the possible issues it could be (both of which were the ones I found with some googling). He took action to address both and explained everything he was doing while he did it. I honestly don't expect much from appliance repair people (I've been burned in the past), but Dial went out of their way to help me, make me feel comfortable, was transparent about everything, and did as much and more than I could have expected. Would 100% recommend Alex (tech) and Margaret (staff) for any issues. read more

I am out about 450 dollars and currently on hold for my second hour with LG because these guys are crooks. They were sent to me as part of the LG flat-rate repair system. LG puts a hold on your money and then release it to the technician they have on contract when the job is done. Unfortunately, the job went to Dial Appliance. The technician Dial Appliance sent spent 3 minutes in my home, opened the fridge, closed it, said "you need a new board. I need to order it." When I asked him, with some surprise if he didn't have to look in the back, he said something like, "no, I know from my experience [or expertise]." I said ok. I also pointed out to him that the spot in our kitchen where the fridge was was tight, so it would require some effort to get the fridge out to service it at the back . It can be moved, but doing so requires some thought and expertise. He said nothing, asked me to sign on his phone to prove he had been there, and said he'd be back when the part came in. When I phoned the next day to get an update on when the part would come in, I was told that the technician claimed the fridge was irreparable because it was improperly installed. I was shocked at this outright lie, and so phoned LG right away to report that this company was dishonest, and clearly trying to take my money without doing the work. (I would add that installation of this fridge involves putting it in place and plugging it in. There is no real "installation" issue. Having just watched some techs remove it in order to install my new fridge, I was reminded of how weird it is for them to talk about it this way--except doing so allows them to try to keep my money.) When LG phoned the company themselves they just repeated the lie. When the manager phoned me while I was on the phone with LG he called me a liar. I would add that my wife was home when their tech came, so it is not like I don't have a witness--aside from the fact that I have no reason to lie. As far as I can tell, the business model of these guys is they get paid for driving over and climbing some stairs, and then just lying on the phone a few times. It's a way to do things, but not an honest one. I would add that of course it is possible that what appears from my point of view to be dishonesty is due to some extraordinary misunderstanding. In that case, the honorable thing to do would be to say something like it's too bad we had this misunderstanding, clearly it makes no sense to charge you for a 3-minute visit involving no work on the part of our technician. We have cancelled all charges. None of this happened. Instead, the manager doubled down on calling me a liar. In short: I would not recommend you hire these guys if your appliance breaks down. And do not allow an appliance company to send you to them for any repairs. read more

We had issues with both our 6 year old range & dishwasher. Dial was able to send a tech within 24 hours of my call. They had great communication about when he would arrive and that was spot on! Alex, the tech accessed the problems and offered solutions & options. He got the parts I three days all was fixed! Clear, fair pricing, great work. Highly recommend Dial APPLIANCE Repair. I see negative reviews on Dial but when you read them you can see the negative customer experiences are based more on expectations of easy quick cheap repairs. It's not Dial's fault if they send a tech out to assess your problem and they learn your repair requires an additional tech to remove the oven for the repair due to the kitchen layout. I doubt a single tech did the installation. My experiences with Dial have all been VERY professional and cordial. I highly recommend them. read more

Have used Dial before with good results. One of the knobs on our Frigidaire stove was not working. My husband called to see if someone could come to repair the stove. The woman he spoke to said he just had to order a new knob from Amazon, told us which one to order, and we ordered it for $19. She could have said someone would come to our house which would have cost a lot for a service call. They are very honest. read more

Update: I took a closer look at the filter and found a big chunk of glass that I was able to remove. Dishwasher has been working just fine since. The fixed the tenant's washer/dryer. I was very satisfied. A few days later when the tenant start using the machine. The floor was flooded and the washer/dryer is on the second floor. So the first floor ceiling is leaking too. Unfortunately I can't attach video. In the attached photo , hopefully you can see water dripping from the door frame. Later we found out that the drain hose was not in the standpipe. Probably because the technician didn't put the hose back in to the standpipe when he pulled out the washer/dryer from the cabinet when he is repairing. read more

Dial's tech Dave fixed our failing induction rangetop, under our Consumer Priority Service extended warranty. CPS acted like a healthcare insurer, demanding our proof of purchase even though I'd properly registered for the warranty, and it needed to approve Dial's repair estimate. Dial Appliance was the company my extended warranty service provider sent to fix my frig. They didn't fix the initial problem, and they also suggested I replace another part of the frig which didn't need to be repaired. I now have a frig with a non-functioning ice maker and broken door which is going to cost $1500 to fix. Dial only warranties their work for 30 days. I'm not expecting ANY sympathy (champagne problems) but do not hire Dial to do any appliance repairs. Find a reputable and reliable service provider that has experience with your brand of appliance. read more

I recently purchased a frigidaire wall oven. It was defective. The convection fan was not working. Dial came to my home. The tech was by himself and after trying to bend the fan with a screwdriver he decided the oven would need to come out. He asked if he could use my living room end table to drag the oven onto because he otherwise would need a second tech. I thought he was joking. Obviously I declined and he left. I had to take off from work to fit their schedule and Dial wasted both of our time. The next day I received a call from Dial. They told me I would need to have the oven removed for them to service it. When I questioned why I need to Pay someone to remove the oven...He replied GOOD LUCK and hung up. Three weeks and still no oven. Dial is very rude and incompetent. Save yourself the time and headache and when you purchase an appliance ask who they use for service. read more

I was extremely disappointed with Dial Appliance Service. I called to schedule a repair for my dryer and the customer service representative "BOB" was rude and unprofessional when I asked about payment methods. They refused to accept my preferred method of payment and were unwilling to work with me to find a solution. The representative became even more rude and told me "if you don't like it go somewhere else". I'd rather pay twice and work with someone with decent customer service. So how did Dial Appliance jump from 1-stars to a 4-stars review? After many phone calls Dial was called in by Maytag to what seems to be my final attempt at a repair (while it was still under warrantee) since the other company was non-responsive. I did not want the other jerk I had last time so I made it a point that they are vey well aware that my repair was covered under warrantee before anyone showed up demanding any money. This time, a man with very limited knowledge of English came and checked it out, left and waited for the part, came back and spent what seemed to be 4 hours on the microwave range/ hood. Still works. Dial also cares about their reputation as someone recently called me regarding my previous Yelp review. I was going to update it eventually since they did actually fix the problem. My advice to anyone searching for a any good appliance repair service is to shop around and ask what their terms are - ie. 3 month warrantee vs 6 lets say for their work. And if your appliance is still under warrantee (and especially if it's a limited warrantee, it's best to do some research into the problem before calling it in.) And while Dial informed me Maytag has a BS automated service call, it's still up to them to communicate with each other in order to honor your warrantee. read more

This is when I believe Yelp needs to institute a zero star policy!! My tenant called Electrolux to get a replacement air damper control kit after the assessment from the first technician (Late Appliance Repair, please see my review there). Instead of getting a replacement part from Electrolux, they told my tenant to call Dial Appliance. Dial Appliance came and walked away with the same assessment as my first technician, but charged my tenant $50 where the first technician did not even charge us. Dial told my tenant the replacement kit would be $419 + tax. I called today to get more information on Dial's assessment as I needed to know the cause and how old the fridge is before I invest more money into it. I was on hold for 15 minutes before a rep named Boris came on. He said since the technician stopped by on Saturday, the assessment report is not yet in the system. I told him this was an urgent matter (as my tenant's food is freezing up and melting down) and I just needed to find out the cause as well as the age of the fridge. Boris refused to put me in contact with the technician and then told me to hold. I waited for around 5 seconds before I realized Boris had just hung up on me!!! THIS WAS AN UNACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOR. If you can't help someone, be honest, don't hang up on your client. Also, since we paid $50 for the assessment, I should be entitled to the assessment report the minute you've collected my money. Not sure how this place stays in business. My next stop is to tell Eelectrolux to remove this company as the authorized service provider. read more

Called them for Beko fridge repairs under the 1 year warranty period. The fridge is making loud rattling sound randomly which lasts for 3-5 seconds but they refuse to send any technician unless I can provide them a recording of the sound. Tech came in the morning and successfully repaired the clothes washer which then worked. He answered questions that I had re maintenance of the machine and gave suggestions. Later in the day, another problem developed with the machine. The Dial Appliance Service manager called me back, spoke to his techs and gave me a practical way to rectify the problem which worked. I am impressed with the professionalism of the tech who repaired the machine and the manager who went the extra mile to solve my second problem. Thank you. read more

Avoid, but if you're on the Home Depot Protection Plan you may not have any decent options. Serviceperson was rude, late, and didn't fix the machine. While appliance repair people don't have a reputation for politeness, this guy was something else. Didn't so much as say "hello" on the way in, and then ignored us, stared at his phone while we told him that a prior serviceperson had messed up our machine when trying to fix it. He did not answer basic questions like "have you worked on this sort of machine before." After running a test that yielded the same result we told him it would, he asked us (!) to clean the filters for the water hoses. We didn't know how to do this correctly and did a pretty poor job cleaning it. In retrospect, it's ridiculous that he didn't clean them himself, and that he cared so little about the work that he didn't even check to see whether we cleaned them properly. At the conclusion of the visit, he ran the test again and it passed. We told him that in practice the problem manifested a few minutes into the cycle and asked him to stay an additional five minutes to see if the problem triggered. He refused, and threateningly said "Are you refusing to sign the papers?" (referring to the service papers he'd been sent out with.) I didn't sign the papers, although mysteriously the visit showed up as resolved with the service center after. Sure enough, the machine didn't work. read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY- My parents used them to fix a stripped screw for the oven door. They came and charged $75 plus tax service fee and said they dont think they can fix it but he would speak to the manager. The manager never called me so I called and he said its cracked inside(which it isnt) and said they cant fix it. They asked for their money back since they couldnt do anything as they didnt know what they were doing, and the manager said no thats a service call. This is NOT A REPAIR COMPANY! I learned the hard way. They will charge you $81 for a handyman to come out and look at your appliance. They take a day or more to get back to you and then will tell you the do not have the parts needed and/or can not find the correct part. They DO NOT REPAIR, they ONLY REPLACE PARTS. Well, I wouldn't give them even 1 star. But there is no option to give 0. So my ice maker wasn't working and I called Igor (owner). He said his repairman will be at my house later on and the guy was at my house exactly as promised. HE examined my ice maker and his verdict was - it has to be replaced. He charged me $65 (which will be deducted from the price IF I will let them do this work) and said they will call me later with a price. They didn't so I called them next day. They told me to wait because they are looking for a cheapest original ice maker. Finally they called. This guy told me the total price will be $315 (-$65 I already paid - $250). I was surprised because replacing ice maker is not very complicated but the guy said" Ice maker cost $150 and work - $165). When I ask why they charge $165 he told me they are charging $100 per hour. Honestly I was upset. $315 for a ice maker seemed totally unreasonable. So I did my research. I ordered original (not generic) ice maker. (Not $150. It cost $110 )And installed it by myself. The installation consisted of connecting wires of ice maker to the fridge and tightening 3 screws. It took me 4 minutes (considering the fact I never did it in my life) Now I question their honesty. $100 per hour and $165 for the whole procedure? Highly not recommend them. The freezer light (top) on my brand new Frigidaire refrigerator stopped working after about a week and I had a question regarding condensation. I called the store where I purchased it and they arranged for an authorized servicer (Dial) to look at it. The technician Steve was excellent. He arrived within the 4 hour window and he very quickly fixed the issue. It was a loose connection. He took out the LED circuit board and put it back in and gave us advice on one or two of the features we were unaware of. Bottom line; very knowledgeable, efficient, and professional. read more

Came out on a Lowe's contract to fix a broken dryer. The "technician" who came pushed a few buttons on my dryer, watched a you tube video on his phone, told me the igniter was broken and needed to be replaced and told me it would be $180 to pull my dryer out of the closet to fix it. A different repairman confirmed the igniter worked fine and the issue was with a different part, and Lowe's confirmed that there should be no charge under my Lowe's contract to pull the dryer out of the closet. I had a problem with my microwave-which I supposed could be something minor-went with these people, because they offered lowest diagnostic price $75-that would be credited towards an eventual repair. The technician who came-unpleasant and slightly arrogant Russian-speaking guy, informed me that minimum service charge is $189 (that's 70% of the price for a new similar model microwave) which was not explained to me from the main office-I would have cancelled immediately-The problem turned out to be a line fuse - $6.99 for a pack of 10 on amazon. Replacement fuse snaps onto place - no screwdriver needed, takes 5 seconds and can be done by an adolescent. The guy wanted $189 + tax for that!!!-minimal labor charge he insisted! Of course I refused and asked him not to assemble the whole back cover-just get me 2 screws to hold it together-There are about 6 or 8 screws that hold the cover 2 of them are tamper-proof heads, others are phillips plain and simple. And guess what: to avenge his greedy company-he screwed exactly these two, so I had to buy a screw bits set for another $7.99 on amazon. the 2 starts I am giving are for the punctuality of the appointment and the good phone communication with the main office, but on a second thought I should have taken back one star for not explaining the minimal labor charge read more

HomeDepot asked to set up 2nd appointment with 4 hour time opening....NO SHOW once again. Not sure about you, but my time is money. Hope they lose service contract with warranty company. I've used Dial twice in the last 4 years for my combo LG washer dryer. My tech Sergey just left my apartment and it was such a great experience I am motivated to write Dial a positive review. A few years ago, my motherboard melted down and Sergey was able to replace it. As soon as he walked in the door today, I recognized him from a few years back and was confident he would fix my machine speedily and be honest about everything. He just replaced the pump, which was busted, and cleaned out my lint trap (which in my model is impossible to do yourself). He's a really funny and charming guy and we bonded over aquariums (he noticed my pet fish), scuba diving, and a mutual love of Paris. No, seriously. Dial is pretty awesome. If I had to remove a star for anything it would be that I actually had them scheduled to come out earlier this week but the tech got stuck on a job and it was the end of the day and I still hadn't been serviced. Stuff happens, though, and I'm just glad that when I rescheduled I got Sergey. Ask for him by name if you can!!! read more

Not only do they not know how to do their jobs, the people answer the phones at the call center are extremely rude, do not ever get back to you when they say they will call. A shoddy company, recommended by Frigidaire to repair a warped stove top on a brand new stove. Dimitri, the service man was unable (or unwilling) to figure out how to repair this. He came first to evaluate and returned the following week with another top, which was similarly warped. Both times he was angry, uncommunicative and kept muttering,"this isn't my problem." In the end, my contractor removed the top, bent it slightly, put it back and resolved the issue. I would give this company 0 stars if possible. Both the manager (Igor) and service man were rude, unprofessional and worst of all, unable to figure out an easy repair. read more

I've used Dial Appliance twice. One for my washer/dryer unit back in 2010 - at which point, they were excellent. Then in late Jan 2012, the ice in my ice maker in my fridge started to melt and create chucks of ice.... We called Dial Appliance for an appointment. First they told us it was the ice maker - so we paid close to $250 for a new ice maker unit. That worked for 2 days, then same thing happened again. We called them back and told them the other owners from my building have experienced the same thing and it was because of the computer board...This time they said it was the water value and not the computer board - now this time we paid close to $70 for the value. That again worked for 2 days and failed. Before they came back for the third time, we followed their instruction and did a complete overnight defrost. This time, they had a more thorough check and guy was honest and said he will check with his boss because he's not sure what the issue was. He believed it was the evaporator, but definitely not the computer board.... Well, we got a call back 2 days later and indicated it was the compressor that was broken - which will cost $700 + labor. Well, long story short, I paid $100 and called a certified GE tech... and guess what?! It was the computer board. Even though I paid another $150, but at least the problem is now fixed.... Don't get me wrong, the service people and dispatchers are extremely nice (in all instances)... BUT, I just think if they don't know the root cause, just tell the customer rather than keep charging them for parts that weren't broken. I would have given them a 5 star for the washer / dryer experience, but a 1 for the refrigerator service.... So all in all, 3 stars. read more
