Water was filtered, bread was good and the pesto oil was flavorful. Fried mushrooms were also pretty decent.

We found The Wharf listed as the best seafood restaurant in town and the reviews were very good. We arrived and instantly liked what we saw. The decor both outside and inside says, "Seafood" to customers, having a fishing dock look outside and a wooden ship like interior. We were quickly and professionally seated in a cozy booth, and the bar server arrived to take our bar orders within moments. Our drinks arrived very shortly afterwards followed by our server, Lacey. She introduced herself and told us that she would give us a few moments to look over the menu and would be back. She was neatly dressed and very pleasant to talk with. True to her word, Lacey returned a few minutes later when she saw that we had put down our menus, which were very extensive. The surf and turf lover's dream, I would say. We ordered the shrimp cocktail appetizer. Each order came with eight shrimp, perfectly prepared on ice. The cocktail sauce was excellent, not being too sweet and pleasantly tart with an extra bite to the horse radish. My wife and I ordered 1 lbs. of the Dungeness crab each, that being the crab legs that were available that evening. Our entrees arrived shortly after we had finished our shrimp. I will state, uncategorically that this was the best crab leg dinner I have had in fifty years, and I grew up on the northern California coast where these crabs were probably caught. I am not a sea food lover like my wife. I only like lobster, shrimp and crab. I never eat the knuckle meat on crap legs because they always taste fishy to me. These did not. All of the meat was almost sweet with a very rich and robust flavor. The crab was served with a generous helping of well-prepared asparagus, my favorite side with crab. The bill for our dinner, with five drinks added, was less than $150, not including a generous tip. It was well worth the cost. To sum up, the wait staff were pleasant and knowledgeable, wait times were short even with a full house, food more than that just excellent, ambiance relaxing and unhurried. We will be visiting The Wharf again, when we next travel to San Angelo.

When we arrived, Luigi's had a long table set up for us. Aubrey is our server, and everyone placed their drink order while looking over the menu. When our drinks arrived, we ordered. My wife and I are ordering from their Kids Menu. She is having the "Kids Cheese Lasagna"; The name says it all, Cheese & Lasagna. I am having the "Spaghetti & Meatballs" (or as kids say, Pasketty, with Tomato Sauce. Luigi's also has their Buttery Bread Baskets all around the table for your enjoyment, with bowls of butter to add it you want. These Buttery Rolls are Butterylicious, and don't need any more butter - but you add more anyway because you can. They are fresh, warm, and melt in your mouth. It wasn't long before the food arrived, and the kids' portions were a nice size. Lots of Spaghetti with a couple of Meatballs covered in their sauce. My wife's Cheese Lasagna is a beautiful presentation with a nice amount of cheese atop the saucy lasagna. She said it was delicious, and I agreed because she let me have some. My Pasketty was also very tasty. The Mighty-Meaty-Meatballs were Meatballiciousness - great flavor - and just enough for lunch. The Buttery Bread goes very well with the Cheese Lasagna & Pasketty. I also took a picture of the Pizza that was shared by another couple. We ordered a Pizza last time we were here, and it was Pizzalicious. Everyone enjoyed what they ordered, and Aubrey earned the "Dollar-Bow-Tie" Award for going 'above-n-beyond' the norm. Luigi's is always a good place to enjoy Italianliciousness in San Angelo. The Staff here helped out Aubrey in keeping everyone's needs filled.

The dining area should be serviced hourly with regard to wiping down the tables and sweeping/mopping. Also checking and refilling the condiments hourly. And the soda fountain could do with a nightly scouring. So why the 1 1/2 stars. I suppose that in the past, this place was really bad: dirt on the register, potholes in the parking lot, mold growing in the soda fountain reservoir. This place is actually not as bad as that. San Angelo is a sleepy little town, and looks to be quite old. The downtown area has potholes, pavement has plenty of broken spots where there were once pretty tiles, and the buildings are just old. So with that knowledge, yes, there might have been potholes recently, but upon parking in the parking lot, we didn't notice any. I didn't go through the drive thru, so I cannot say there are none. Walking into the main dining area, there are crumbs on the tables, dusty shoe prints on the floor as well as crumbs, and the condiment tartar sauce was empty, however it was easily remedied when staff offered me a handful of tarter sauces. Garbage was not overflowing and I did not note any garbage on the floors either. Although a single napkin on the floor is not a "pile" of garbage as someone else had defined in their review. The staff were friendly and quite patient as I waffled between ordering different plates on the menu. My food came out promptly. The batter was warm and crispy, so obviously my food had not been sitting out all day, but not quite fresh from the fryer either. The food smelled and looked appetizing, just as I had remembered as a child growing up. The crispy bits of batter accompanying my fish was a sight for sore eyes. As usual, it was super greasy, it probably always has been, but the oil used was not old. Everything was cooked to par level. It isn't bad at all. Just bear in mind that this place is not fine dining. The tables and floor won't be immaculate, the condiments may go empty, but staff was pleasant and even came out to check on us a couple of times.
