I was a little hesitant to order the Grilled shrimp chimichangas because there were no pictures to show what it looked like. I called the store to ask some questions about it and the woman on the phone was so patient with me so I just went for it and WOW am I glad that I ordered it. It was amazing!!!! I completely understand why Di Di Restuarant was given Yelp's Top 100 Award.  February 2022 was my first time at Di Di Restaurant as I craved an appetizer of shrimp dumplings. The hospitality provided by a female Di Di employee was beyond kind, generous, and compassionate (something missing in today's 2022 society). I was impressed by the dumplings taste that were fried to perfection and placed on a bed of shredded lettuce.  The shrimp dumplings looked as good as they tasted as they melted in your mouth!  Shrimps were seen and tasted throughout every dumpling bite. Although I requested and received hot oil as a condiment for the shrimp dumplings, Di Di Restaurant's "secret ingredient" dumpling sauce tasted even better than the hot oil.  With Di Di Restaurant passing the appetizer test with flying colors, I anxiously await to purchase and taste their shrimp and broccoli entree. read more

Was in the mood for Chinese food. Had my cravings half met with an order from Di Di's. I haven't had Di Di's in years. I honestly cannot remember what my experience was. Today's order had mixed reviews. Ordered: 4 Chicken wings and pork fried rice House special Lo mein Fried scallops The chicken wings and rice was very dry and the rice was hard. The taste was OK but the dryness made it a disappointment. The Lo mein and Scallops was very good. They are a maybe for me. If anything I will definitely order the Lo mein again however I know to stay away from their fried chicken and fried rice. read more

Decided to order take out for the first time in months. I'd just moved into my neighborhood several months ago, finding the offerings in terms of dinning out, pretty lack in luster. It was a toss up between Mandoo chinese restaurant a couple blocks north (hurl) or Dynasty on Flatbush. Not as "hurl" worthy, but they win a Grammy for their effort in BLAND. Scrolling through yelps offering for perhaps better restaurants in close range, I clicked on this restaurant and read the amazing reviews. The stellar reviews for a regular Chinese takeout place were astounding. I ran to my husband, ".... babe, this restaurant has 4 stars, omg, it must be good..." I quickly whipped my credit card out, in preparation for the gluttony to commence. "... chicken with broccoli, yes well done, chicken burrito... no sour cream, yes indeed" "Yes, that total is great, here's my card num.... what..." NO CC here people, that's okay, it's my fault, I should have read the latter reviews and I allowed the blazing red stars to blind me, an addition to my roaring hunger. Okay, okay, no worries, I've got cash *sweat drops*, I give the necessary information and wait. Doing a fist pump, as they're willing to deliver to my area. Door bell rings, I got the cash, I grab the food. I dodge my husband and hop over my children. Nothing will stop me! Finally... food. I tear into the plastic and brown paper bag like hulk. Andie EAT... I open the the first styrofoam container lustily, *crickets*, okay, I move on to the second numbly.... very bland looking dishes. At this point I'm like, the flavor profile has to be present. My husband looks on with a smirk. A bite of the chicken broccoli leaves me swaying... 'what in the hell..." a fork full of burrito has me toggle back to my phone, ear deaf to assure my self I ordered from the place with those red stars. I left the chicken and broccoli dish to my husband and I altered my burrito with the only condiment that could save it, HOT SAUCE, and loads of it. Even threw some Trinidadian soca sauce in for good measure. I don't know how this place managed 4 stars, god bless them. But I was certainly cat fished in the worst possible way. Average to be sure, don't expect much and have your condiments ready to save the day. P.S. One reviewer had the audacity to embellish on the restaurants Zagat and Daily News features that were from the Bill Clinton era, when I was 8 years old. This is a great place to get a quick lunch near Brooklyn college if you are on the go. They have the usual Chinese takeout type of things on the menu but they also have a separate Tex mex menu. My favorite part of their menu is the extensive vegetarian section with all different options of vegetarian chicken and beef anyway that you would imagine it to be prepared just like the regular chicken and beef dishes. They also have a lighter healthy section for stuff prepared without too much sauce, not fried, and steamed vegetables . My only complaint is they have a small restaurant with only two tables so a lot of the times you'll have to take your food to go. read more

This Chinese food restaurant was just disgusting. This was my first time ordering from this place because when I googled best Chinese Food Restaurant in Brooklyn this was the first one. I placed an order for Shrimp and Broccoli with 4 Chicken Wings. I was so so happy because I was craving Chinese food so bad. When I received my order and opened the box it look not appealing. I tasted it and it was so raw and fresh in flavor(not good;no flavor). I then tasted the chicken wings and it tasted old. I was so freaking disappointed. I scooped out a little in a plate because I didn't want my money to go to waste. When I did so I saw a piece of string like twin that you put around boxes to hold them together. I've never been to the location. But I order here frequently when I'm craving Chinese. Their delivery time is great. Super fast food. Their chicken looks cleaner then others I have seen so I'll take them over any other corner store. Everything is hot and soft and doesn't feel like it was left there overnight and heat up the next day. They also have a Spanish menu with tacos and burritos. I had the beef burrito and on the Chinese menu I had the vegetables fried rice with a grim broccoli. The burrito was okay, and the vegetables fried rice was vegetal, it didn't only have onion unlike some other Chinese place but it had celery, broccoli carrots peas etc. My favorite part was that they cleaned the shrimps!!! I was so happy when every single one of them was cleaned. The broccolis weren't overcooked just perfectly stir fried with the shrimps and the rice wasn't greasy at all. This is my boyfriend's favorite chinese takeout in Midwood. I prefer the one on the corner of Ave J because they are a few cents cheaper and they have the light pink bbq sauce I love. This is a Chinese restaurant that also does tex-mex. I ordered a chicken burrito for $5.25. It was surprisingly good, not to mention HUGE. It was packed with large chicken chunks, along with cheese, rice and black beans, with salsa and sour cream on the side. I couldn't even finish it. I had it for lunch and dinner. I used to live close by and still go to Brooklyn College. I been ordering from DiDi's a long time and it's always so good. They are super friendly and never disappoint. I recently moved a little farther away and they were very kind to still deliver to me!! I usually get their chicken from the Chinese menu; general tos chicken, chicken broccoli. Pretty good chinese take out. Not going to blow your mind, but it's not bad for delivery. Egg rolls are flavorful, crispy and not too greasy. Steamed dumplings are heavy on the dough, but the flavor is good and the sauce is too. Cold sesame noodles had a little kick. I attend Brooklyn College as well as work there and during my lunch hours or breaks in between, it's hard for me to get something close by and good. A friend a mine, who is a regular for 8 years, took me here one day during my breaks and my life changed after that. At first, you're going to think: "A Chinese and Mexican spot? What the hell?" And as you look at the dual menu, you'll see that they have some awesome selections. But then you'll look up and see absolutely no Mexicans or anyone resembling some sort of Hispanic decent. So whatever, I sit down with him and actually order a burrito since he offered to pay. He ordered a chimichanga which is a whole other mess in it's own. As I waited there for our meals, I couldn't stop thinking about the aftermath and how it would probably result in me sitting in the bathroom for the entirety of my next class. The order comes in and I take a bite and am actually surprised. These Chinese people must have gone to the South of the boarder and learned how to perfect such a craft from the sun gods. They literally sacrificed one of their own in order to make the most amazing specimen of a burrito. I was so pleased and in love at that moment that I tore that burrito the hell up. I left nothing for the dogs. I ate it and roared right after. I felt like a new woman, ready to conquer the world. Since that first encounter last year, I have frequent here quite often. I have ordered delivery from them and they are so amazing to come through a rainstorm to get me that perfect burrito. This take-out Chinese/Mexican restaurant is 5 minutes from the Brooklyn College campus. I had Chicken in a black bean sauce with vegetable fried rice and thought it was good. This restaurant claims to be one of the best Chinese restaurant since it was in the top 100 for the nation, I personally thought that it was just ok. The did have a nice presentation, everything in its own container. I don't like when they cramp everything into a cardboard box and the sauce gets all over the rice and they don't do that. This is a really solid, basic place. Delivery super fast, orders always correct so far. It's not the best Chinese food in the world, but it's probably the best in the area. I'd never been to the actual location until today, and while I was there the extremely nice cashier helped me, then gave an elderly woman, who'd walked in, the restaurant's cans/bottles for recycling money. Later I noticed the cashier was sitting down, using a nebulizer. So she's working on Labor Day, with severe asthma, while being as nice as you could ever imagine. I want to give 5 stars just for all of that, but that wouldn't be fair. But for what it is, this is a great little restaurant. I mean, keep your expectations real based on the area and the price, and you'll have no issues.
