The cake was the most dry and disgusting cake I've ever had. Tasted like it had been sitting out for days! And the frosting was equally as horrible. It tasted like biting into a stick of butter! And for $170, you would expect this to be the best cake you ever tasted, but instead, everyone at the party could not stop talking about how horrible it was and everyone threw their slices in the trash. Would have had a much better cake from Walmart or Wegmans! Do NOT order from this "bakery". You will regret it and waste your money!

I was considering ordering a cake from ShopRite until I came across Sweet as Sugar Desserts. I'm so happy I found them because I prefer supporting local businesses, especially when they are POC and women owned. Right off the bat, the customer service was amazing. No more than 2 hours after I submitted the order form online, was I contacted by the proprietor Christiane. After a short email exchange, we spoke on the phone to communicate order specifics and to ensure she understood my "vision." And boy, did she come through! I already had a good sense of her decorating skills, but since there were no other reviews, I really did not know what to expect in terms of flavor. I ordered a tres leche cake with dulce de leche filling, and it frikken delicious!! The cake was perfectly moist, and the flavor of the filling was well balanced with the cake - which with this flavor combo can be overly sweet. But she really killed it and everyone loved it, the birthday girl especially. I couldn't recommend Sweet as Sugar Desserts enough!
