When my husband had called him shortly after he had left he informed him that he would like for him to tell his guys to pack up. He told my husband that we would be paying anywhere from 22k-25k for the painting from other companies. My husband said he would like to get other quotes and if his company is the best quote we have no problem calling him and finishing the job. We later got an invoice for 5hrs of work when his guys were actually only here just over two hrs. I got a quote from another company and wouldn't you know we got quoted $9,700 cheaper than his original quote. I feel like he was trying to scam us out of more money because he knew we were just about to close on a home equity loan to pay for the updates to our house. It's a shame that we had that experience with the owner of the company, his crew was really nice and respectful seemed like good people. So my review has nothing to do with the employees at this company it is strictly a review of the owner himself and his lack of honesty. I'm a stay at home mom and my husband is hard working, we don't have a ton of money and it's a shame this owner thought he could take advantage of a young couple and assumed given the location we live that we must have money and he had no problem trying to take advantage by adding almost double to the price. All the other painters we have talked to said that is extremely unprofessional raising the price that high after prep has been started is unheard of. Just beware when dealing with this owner.

Do you think he smoothed out the edges prior to painting? Look at the photo!!! Again, He DOES NOT CARE about a quality job! He must have looked at them and thought "this is really crappy... Oh well". The trim in my kitchen: The ENTIRE KITCHEN has wood-stained trim that I installed 10 years ago... He PAINTED THEM!!!!! What? Now *I* have to rip them out and purchase NEW TRIM and replace them, because the Lone Painter can't make an intelligent association on whether to paint, or NOT paint the cabinet floor trim. Seriously, LOOK AT THE PHOTOS! So, if you want a FAST job, and don't care about quality... Maybe you're flipping a 4-plex for the next renter... Sure, call the Lone Painter...
