So smart, I am going to break it down in Dewey Decimal Code: 000 - Pizza: The foundation is well established with top notch, fresh ingredients. They offer what the chain establishments are trying to recover, QUALITY! Customers are increasingly becoming more selective and Dewey's has excellent pizza that commands notice over other chains. 100 - Salads: with a name like Dewey's Pizza, it is easy to underestimate their salads. Locals have caught onto their secret, with an excellent array of selections, all fresh and lively. 200 - Beer: like peanut butter to jelly, pizza needs beer. And when you serve top notch pizzas, the beer better stand up. Dewey's has picked a great set of handles to pour. They have a nice balance of local and nationwide micros, with no attention given to the big 3 macros... Amen! 300 - Service: customer service has the ability to cover flaws and sins for many restaurants... I've found no major flaws at Dewey's, and had excellent service every time I've eaten here. Seated fast, drinks quick to the table, order taken and food served within 10-15 mins. Quality never suffers all the while. You can tell that the servers enjoy working here, and are generally happy. Their charisma is refreshing. 400 - Atmosphere: sports on several TVs, located throughout the restaurant, but sized appropriately as to not take over the joint. You can catch your game, but keep the feel of a classy pizza spot vs. a sports bar. The pizza making is part of the show, with windows transparently showing off the entire operation. 500 - Fun! This is a great place for families. The kids love to watch the pizza being tossed, and the cooks always make them feel special versus ignoring or pushing them away. This is not our primary Dewey's but come with our grandkids after visiting Entertrainment junction. We have been here before and it's always been great; until today. Server was friendly and even brought paper plates for the kids instead of the regular plates. Order was taken correctly (per check) but pizza was very disappointing. We ordered 2 pizzas. Both had thick hard crusts. Pizza one had big dough bubbles on 3 slices with minimal cheese. This was the kids pizza and they wouldn't eat those pieces. Pizza 2 was modified half and half with white sauce on half and red sauce on the other. Unfortunately the sauces were on the wrong half. Because we had our toddler and preschool grandkids with us we could not wait for another pizza to be made. The manager offered to have another made or to comp the price of the one we had. Since we had already modified the pizza by removing toppings to move them to the correct sauced crust so we could eat and get out of there we elected to pay bill so we could get kids home. My note to this business is to realize that an incorrect product has more ramifications to the customer than you may realize so double check you are sending out an acceptable product the first time. read more

We ordered a half and half pizza with different toppings for each side. Everything was perfectly made to order. Portion sizes were just right for what we wanted. However, the dough and crust were the best parts in my opinion! So soft and easy to tear. I love a good pizza crust! The pizza was cold when we received it. Elizabeth the manage took our pizza back & reheated. When it returned it was warm. We normally get tomatoes after the bake and it just made the whole pizza soggy. We received our check I asked for her. We told her that the quality was not up to standard. We were recently in town and decided to stop here because I love Dewey's Pizza and it's a great treat when we're in the Cincinnati area. I've never been to this location, so I was excited to give it a shot. We ate in for lunch. My boyfriend and I split a Caesar salad and a Green Lantern pizza. Both were delicious. The salads are huge, so a small was plenty for the two of us to share. The atmosphere here was really nice. This location is tucked back into a strip mall, so I didn't have high expectations, but I was pleasantly surprised. And, it's next door to another Cincinnati-area staple...Graeter's! We usually go to the Newport on the Levee location, but I think I enjoyed this location better...the atmosphere seemed much more comfortable to me. The staff was for the most part very friendly and helpful. The prices were a bit higher than I would like to pay, but for a once in a while treat, I'm okay with it. It's been a few years since we've eaten at Dewey's Pizza, but we remembered that we love the salads there and decided to reacquaint ourselves. Lot's of options but we opted to build our own pizza, to save a bit, after our waiter said that we could add up to three (3) toppings to a plain pizza for $11.00. What a MISTAKE that was. The waiter was new or something and didn't realize that all toppings added ~$2.50 EACH!!!. So we paid ~$18 EACH for three, 3 topping pizzas. The pizza was tasty but three small pizzas and a single salad cost $70-which we thought would cost $40. Not likely to return. But if you do go...You're better off selecting a specialty pizza and deleting ingredients. read more

We placed a carry out order and paid in advance. When we got there, we went to the curbside spot and called. They said we couldn't call that number, there was a text number to use. We did that. Don't count on the waitlist on the Dewey's website being correct. It will say there is no wait or you need to call the restaurant to add your name to the waitlist. Both of these are incorrect. Since we just moved to north Cincinnati, we have had a couple opportunities to try the Dewey's West Chester location. I frequented the Harper's Point location quite a bit while working during relocation, but we are farther north now so West Chester will be our new spot. Dewey's is our new family favorite pizza here in Cincinnati. It's different from the Chicago-style and St Louis style pizza we like in those places. It's similar to NY style, but I like the crust better than most NY style shops. Staff was very friendly both times we've been to this location. Parking is a little weird because it's in the middle of a group of shops and getting takeout means you have to park a little ways away usually, because it's worth it. read more

Some of the best pizzas in Cincinnati, they do a great job and are always consistent. The crew is on point, from seeing them work in the kitchen you can really see how they all work together. Alot of other restaurants can learn alot from watching them work. My favorite is the ryans inferno, i get half everytime the other half i switch it up and try something new. I haven't had a bad combo yet. And there house balsamic dressing is something to note, probably the best balsamic dressing I have had. If they sold this dressing separate i would buy a bottle once a month. The only down fall is the price, its hard to justify paying that much for pizza on a very regular basis. Giant windows let you and your children watch your pizza being made. I highly recommend the porky fig pizza. It's not your normal pie by any means and it features a fig jam for sauce! Carmilzed onions, Mozzarella, and gorgonzola cheese make this lip smacking good. The crust is fluffy on the outside and underneath your pie has a perfect crunch. Not into a pizza with fig jam? I wasn't going to say anything till my party brought it to their attention my food was nasty. And the server went ahead and told his manager. We love Dewey's for nights when we want something inexpensive and light, but still super yummy. This place is small and usually busy, and VERY loud... the only negative. You can watch the guys/gals making the pizzas through the window, which kids love, so some built in entertainment there. However, the win really comes in regard to their service and product. Their salads and pizzas are great. Crust is thin and flavorful, not crispy crunchy, and toppings are always the freshest. You can choose from some fantastic specialty pizzas (Dr. Dre is a favorite) or go your own way with a custom pie. Their service is excellent, as servers are not assigned to specific tables. Joe, Sarah and Jane will all ask you if you need anything as they are passing by. You leave feeling full, satisfied and well taken care of everytime... usually with leftovers to heat up later!! Order 2 pizzas and 2 salads. Says it will be an hour. No big deal. Get there at the said time and wait. They finally respond it will be another 20 mins. Then it is actually 35 mins past the time the food was supposed to be ready. When my husband says something they basically say sorry the SALAD guy was backed up. Yep- the salad guy was backed up so our pizzas sat under a warmer for probably 30 minutes. They were Luke warm and clearly had been sitting based on how dried out the chicken was. I get that everywhere is short staffed. But then as managers you need to figure out how to either run your business with the resources you have (limit the menu, predict accurate wait times, help your salad maker get caught up etc) or be prepared that there won't be customers left. Update: Clearly the manager is figuring it out and called and comped our dinner and said she was calling everyone because they had a bad night. Dewey's is a (local) chain, but don't be fooled - it's not like any other. The interior is modern, clean, and welcoming. It's a bit odd when you walk in since there's a hallway leading you to the back of the restaurant, but it puts you between the bar/register and the kitchen, which has a big window for you to see into. It's a bit small, but the food is what's most important (and that it is clean - which it is.) If you've got a big group you'll probably need to call first. I've never had any complaints with the service either, they've always been attentive and helpful. What really makes me a fan of Dewey's is the food itself - which I have yet to be disappointed by. I've tried nearly all of their salads and pizzas and all of them are delicious. My favorites are the Tito Santana (seasonal taco pizza,) the Edgar Allen Poe and Socrates Revenge. The crust is thin (but not too much), soft and moist. One of the things that attracts me to Dewey's is the variety of ingredients you can pick (along with the variety of pre-designed pizzas.) I love all the different cheeses and vegetables offered. My favorite salad is the Candied Walnut and Grape - it's an amazing mix of crunchy walnuts, juicy red grapes and Gorgonzola cheese on mixed greens and topped with a citrus basil vinaigrette. I'd go to Dewey's just for this salad. There are downsides to Dewey's, but also reasons why they didn't knock it down to a 4-star review. First of all, they don't deliver. Secondly, the wine choices aren't worth it and the desserts are all from random bakeries - which is a hit-or-miss... Most often a miss. But, Dewey's is right next to Graeter's and The Wine List - two of my other favorite places to go. So buy a wine from Wine List, get your pizza at Dewey's then hit up Graeters for a scoop if you want dessert. It's all win as far as I'm concerned. Delivery would be nice, but I live two blocks away so it's not really a big deal. I haven't found a better pizza in the Mason-West Chester area. read more

Allow me to clarify: Dewey's is as good as pizza gets in West Chester, Ohio. Their sauce is tomato-y and spicy and not that sweet, thankfully. The crust is crispy yet chewy. And their pizza toppings are the stuff of dreams. The Edgar Allan Poe, for instance. It is a savory slice topped with roasted whole cloves of garlic, goat cheese, olives and mushrooms. The creamy goat cheese provides the perfect balance to the spiciness of the garlic and the saltiness of the olives. I feel for this pizza the way Mr. Poe felt about that Lenore chick. But, maybe you're not a fan of goat cheese. Check out the Socrates Revenge. It is also a quality pizza. In the mood to eat some meat? I highly recommend Ryan's Inferno, the tastiest Buffalo Chicken pizza I've had since I left New York. Not enough meat for you? The Bronx Bomber is always a crowd-pleaser. It's topped with sausage, pepperoni, mushrooms, peppers and olives and each slice is a meal in-and-of-itself. Maybe you don't agree that a slice of the Bronx Bomber constitutes a whole meal. Maybe you would like a nice salad to round out your dinner. Their Peppercorn Ranch is really good, if a bit pedestrian. For the more adventurous palate, the candied walnut and grape salad is incredible. Their current seasonal salad (unless it's changed already) is the Harvest salad with figs, Boursin cheese (Boursin cheese!!!), bacon and an apple cider vinaigrette. Delicious! All that AND their employees are super friendly. The only negative? Unfortunately no Dewey's employee will come tapping at your chamber door with one of their fantastic pies because Dewey's does not deliver. Fortunately, their pizzas are worth the drive. read more

I tried Dewey's for the first time last night and was really disappointed. I had wanted to try Dewey's after being disappointed by the other local pizza offerings (I moved here about two years ago from the east coast and have been on the lookout for good pizza), so when a margherita pizza craving struck me yesterday, I decided that it was time to try this place out. I had to order a cheese pizza with basil, because they don't have a margherita pizza on the menu. The crust was flavorless and was very soft and shiny, the sauce was too heavy on the tomato paste. It reminded me of the pizza I'd get at the rollerskating rink when I was a kid. Also, the basil had been cut into thin ribbons and baked on so that I couldn't even taste it over that super strong sauce. I can't speak to the atmosphere of the restaurant - I ordered take out - so I'm judging by the pizza alone. I can't say that I'll never eat Dewey's pizza again, but I will say that my search for good pizza in the Cincinnati area did not end last night. read more

Happy that Dewey's is remaining open. We only do pick up curbside so not sure about dining inside. There Curbside pick up is very efficient. Park in the rear and they are numbered slots, call to let them know you're there, They collect your food delivery right to your car wearing masks of course, and when I got home the pizza was still hot. They have delicious salads, but the field greens are never cut up and so it is very awkward to pick them up and eat them. read more

Not a huge place so plan accordingly - the place can get pretty packed especially Friday-Sunday. Dewey's has great salads and creative pizzas. They have great microbrews on tap which is always a winner with their pizza. For some reason, this is one of those pizza that doesn't taste as good when warmed up the next day, so eat up while you are there. The staff is eager and works efficiently. Had hoped this would be a really good choice given the positive Yelp reviews. Alas, it was not to be. Got Caprese pizza and small Greek salad. Asked three times (politely but firmly) for crispy, well done pizza and was promised just what I asked for. Pizza was doughy, not crispy, not well done. Tomatoes on top not heated at all and they caused further soppiness in the pie. Not good at all - even to someone who didn't ask for well done pizza. Salad was just okay - nothing at all to write home about. Very little feta, few onions, only red (not clear or white) salad dressing. 0 for 2 on this place!
