Dewey's is the best pizza! Every couple weeks my husband and I go to the Dewey's in Anderson. It doesn't get any better in Cincinnati. Though you'll have to wait if you go at a busy time or with a big group, it's well worth it, and you can choose from their excellent selection of beers and wines while you wait. If you have a question or need a recommendation, the bartender and waitstaff are all extremely knowledgable about their entire menu. The menu is simple: salad and pizza/calzones. Though I honestly believe you can't go wrong with any menu item, my favorite salad is the house, followed by the two "seasonal" salads (harvest in fall/winter, strawberry macadamia nut in spring/summer). All dressings except the caesar are house-made, and the ingredients are high quality. It may be tempting to order your "usual" pizza - whatever you normally get for delivery from Papa John's (or wherever), but definitely check out their specialty pies! Green Lantern, Caprice, and Ryan's Inferno are my favorites, but they're all terrific. It's nearly impossible with all that delicious pizza in front of you, but try to save room for dessert! Dewey's serves the Bonbonnerie's opera cream torte, as well as one other dessert that varies (usually some kind of cheesecake), homemade just for Dewey's. If the carrot cake is in the house, then ORDER IT, whether you need to take it home or not. Tying all the great food and drink together is what makes Dewey's truly special - the service. All servers pay attention to all tables at all times, so much so that it can be difficult to tell who "your" waiter/waitress is. That's not a bad thing - anyone will answer questions, get you a refill, or take your order. All the servers, bartenders, hosts/hostesses, and managers are superb. In short, go to Dewey's. Got on yelp Just to right this review, that's how strongly I feel. Love Dewys, but NOT this one. I turned 21 three months ago, but as an Indian citizen my license does not expire for a few more years. This means the waiter must look at my date of birth on the license to determine my age. The manager refused to service me alcohol due to my license not being horizontal and it being "expired". After pointing out to her that it's NOT expired, she still refused to service me completely unable to give me a reason why. The real kicker was the condescending and down right rude manor of this manager. If you want to be treated with respect do NOT go to this location. read more

Right across from the Cincinnati Zoo. We were so tired from the day at the zoo we decided to go eat here since it had amazing reviews. RIGHTFULLY EARNED. we split out CYo to 1/2 Chicken Raw Onions and 1/2 Spinach And Cherry Tomatoes. We added Pesto and Oregano to sprinkle on top. It was amazing. Left happy and full. I love pizza, and I like Dewey's, but I kinda I think it's a bit overrated. I like a variety of toppings on my pizza, but I think that pizza should taste good without hiding behind a smorgasboard of toppings options. Honestly, if you gave me the choice of a cheese pizza from Dewey's and one from Little Caeser's, I'd have to go with LIttle Caeser's. Even if they were the same price. Dewey's rates fine in categories of sauce and cheese--sauce isn't very tangy or interesting, and the cheese is just so-so; crust is below par in my opinion (not chewy enough!) I'd take an Adriatico's over it any day of the week; their toppings are just as high-quality and generously served, and their sauce is amazing (I love that it's a tad spicy) and their thick crust, brushed with garlic olive oil, is AMAZING. I feel like I could categorize Dewey's as one of those places that people from Cincinnati love and I don't get (read: LaRosa's and Skyline). That said, Dewey's has a really good atmosphere and a good (albeit very hoppy) selection of microbrews. The other night my fiance and I split a 13-inch pizza (plenty for both of us, though he probably could have eaten my half too) and had two good beers for a total bill of $31. The pizza, atmosphere, and customer service were just OK. I was expecting this pizza to be great after reading all the reviews but I was disappointed. Went here for the first time since they remodeled. We were both impressed with the side Greek salad, which really is almost enough as a meal in itself. We've always been a fan of their various specialty pizzas, and the option to get half and half on the toppings. We had an unusual / funny thing happen -- they had cleared our salad plates, and we were still waiting quite a while, and a manager stopped by to say she had bad news, they had served our pizza to people at a different table! So they were making ours again. It made it a bit of a rush for us to eat because we were headed to a concert, but we did eat some and took some with us, and they didn't charge us anything for our dinner. It's nice that a casual place has such a high standard for customer service. It would be nice if it were not so noisy -- we were hoping that the remodel might include some softer surfaces so it would be a little quieter. read more

If I had to pick a favorite pizza chain, Dewey's would be #1. As a native New Yorker, I tend to be picky when it comes to pizza in the midwest. I first had Dewey's in St. Louis years ago and it still impresses me. Little things, like AMAZING crust, go a long way. I mean, when I eat generic subpar pizza, I usually never eat the crust because who needs extra calories from generic subpar pizza? But I will eat every last bite of Dewey's because it's that good. As far as pizza goes, there isn't a whole lot to get excited about in cincy. Ramundo's in Mt. Lookout and Adriatico's in Clifton seem to have their cult-like followings, but Dewey's in my opinion, ranks the highest in the city. The pizza is fantastic, but it's not just that. They have fantastic salads-they aren't just iceberg lettuce and ranch like most pizza places. The house salad is fantastic, and the side salad-which runs at circa $4-is enough for a light meal by itself. They have a good beer-albeit small-selection, usually a bells, flying dog, and a few others on tap. But it is a pizza place after all, and their pizza does not fail to put a smile on ones face. All their ingredients are fresh, and their combinations unique. The Green Lantern and Ryan's Inferno are definately worth a second or third visit. They are fantastic, but you can't really go wrong with any choice-except maybe their Hawaiian-their canadian bacon leaves something to be desired. I've had my share of pizza around the world and this place is excellent and the best I've had in Cincinnati. Great sauce (a little spicy which I like but might be too much if you have small kids), excellent crust, quality ingredients, and some great non-standard combinations and options. Plus, they have a great group of beers on tap to compliment your meal. I've also had a couple of the salads and they were all very good as well. Yeah ok... I agree that Deweys is the most rattle-your-soul delicious pizza out there, but let's consider a few things... There is always a wait if you go during lunch or dinner time , things are a little pricey for a pizza (ok I get it...gourmet pizza), the free refills will make red cream soda come out your eyeballs before the pizza is even ready and here's the kicker: I always feel sick after eating here. Now, I could attribute this to over eating, sure, but I honestly think the dough is under cooked. Moral of the story; if you can stomach it or if you're just visiting Cincinnati, Dew-it! While the Oakley location is closest to my home these days, I far prefer the Clifton location. The service here is always amazing - they refill your drinks so often that it's before you could even think about needing a refill - you never go thirsty. Service is always good - I've never felt I waited too long or was ignored. This location, and I don't know why it's this one in particular, just has amazing service. As far as the food, I don't find a real difference between locations, so this is basically the same as Oakley. The food is perfect - I always end up with the house salad (without pine nuts due to allergies - and I have never had a problem with a pine nut showing up or an allergic reaction so kudos!) and enjoy it so much. Their other salads are equally as good, but it is hard to get me away from the cranberries and goat cheese. Their salad mix is always fresh and good tasting - I have never had a bad salad here. The house dressing is also one of my favorites - as well as the apple cider vinaigrette when it's in season. The pizza is one of my favorites in Cincinnati - if not my favorite. I can never resist it. The crust is so good (if I get full I start pulling the crust off extra pieces) and the toppings are always of good quality and delicious. Their cheeses are amazing - we have tried almost all of them on pizzas - but goat cheese and smoked cheddar are our favorites. Canadian bacon is also some of the best in town. In terms of their special pizzas, I enjoy the Billy Goat. Best location in town if you ask me - but parking can be a pain at times, so be ware! read more

Dewey's in Kenwood is always packed, so I always order over the phone. The nice thing is it will be ready in 40-45 min. You go pick it up and take it home to eat with the family. I love their pizza because its fresh and not super greasy. It comes with lots of healthy veggies if you choose and the salads are awsome! We pick Dewey's every time! read more

We're been to several Dewey's locations in our area in the past few years. I love the salads, and I think you get a much nicer salad for less money than at my old fav salad place (Panera). The pizzas are yummy on a delicious thin crust with a slightly spicy red sauce. You may watch them tossing the crusts (through the glass window). When we ate here last, at the Montgomery Rd. location, the service was really good (it was 2pm) and the food good. The Hawaiian pizza I ordered wasn't the best I've had here but it's a matter of personal taste. When we had a large group of family here in the past they were very accommodating (we called ahead). The Clifton location always seems to be busy. The Kenwood location has also been a positive experience, except the parking is always busy (lots of shops share a lot). read more

I'm obsessed with Dewey's, and this location did not disappoint. Nestled in one of the cutest neighborhoods in Cincinnati, the building is brick, small, and cozy. It definitely felt very inviting, and we were greeted and seated right away. Pretty good for 1:00pm on a Saturday! :) The staff was friendly, but that isn't out of the ordinary for Dewey's. You're usually very well taken care of there. I never had an empty glass, and we were checked on frequently. The salads came out in a flash, and the wait for our pizza was minuscule, considering my anticipation. On to the food...OH, the heavenly food! ...like I said, I'm obsessed with Dewey's. I often crave the Peppercorn Ranch Salad...as well as their delicious crust! My brother and his girlfriend were joining my husband and I...the couples each split a regular salad. I was in love with that salad (it's probably one of my favorite salads on earth), and didn't even want to stop eating it when our pizzas arrived! :) Mmm! My husband is NOT a ranch guy, and he digs it. I think it helps that there's big chunks of bacon in it, hehe. :) We ordered two medium (13 in) pizzas...one was 1/2 Green Lantern, 1/2 Ryan's Inferno, and the other was Southwest BBQ Chicken (my favorite). I'm so glad we tried the other kinds though! The Green Lantern was an absolute delight, with goat cheese and pesto being the standout ingredients. Perfect. And Ryan's Inferno was everything good about Buffalo Chicken...like a wing pizza! Really delicious. The Southwest BBQ Chicken is just my good old standby...the chicken is juicy and flavorful, and the corn, cheddar cheese, and black beans are perfect with the sweet barbecue sauce. (I pick off the red peppers, but that's just because I'm weird and don't like them.) If your mouth isn't watering right now...you may have a problem. :) It was a wonderful experience and I was proud to take my out-of-towner brother and his girlfriend here for lunch...they LOVED it. Most people have heard about Dewey's gourmet pizzas. They are delicious. They are also pricey (usually close to $20 for a pie) which is fine once in a while since the ingredients seem to be good quality and fresh. BUT the pizza makes me feel sick every time I eat it, whether I overeat or not. I can eat almost any combination of food, and big quantities, but not feel sick. So why does it happen here? It happens to a few of my friends too. That ultimately will keep me from buying the pizza again. The salads are really good but I usually don't go out for salad since I can make a good salad easily at home, in the same amount of time I'd be waiting for it at Dewey's. Is it the dough that makes my friends and I feel sick (this has happened numerous times) afterward? Not sure. There are a few other pizza places I would go to before coming here (Venice on Vine, A Tavola, Noces/Brooklyn Pizza). Still worth trying if you haven't had it before. read more

Fantastic specialty pizza! They offer salads, calzones, pizza and desserts (from local confectioner shops). Your specialty choices can be slightly customized (ie: we asked for no onions and they let us add bacon instead). Caesar salad had very little dressing but the cheese was delish and created such a nice flavor, we didn't miss the extra dressing. Pizza crust is thin but not crunchy/too crispy. Perfect texture. We finished with pumpkin cheesecake and it was amazing! read more

Dewey's is about as good as it gets as far as pizza goes in Cincinnati. I'm a fan of this thin crust pizza. I was drawn like most to Dewey's years ago by the interesting and tasty set-topping pizzas (Green Lantern, Socrates Revenge, Edgar Allen Poe). But I'm now taking a minimalist turn. This is because I think their crust is so good. The thick and moist veggie toppings don't allow the crust to get the right balance of crispy/chewy that I love. The meatball is currently a family favorite. We find ourself ordering single topping or cheese pies more and more often. The salads are excellent. Always a fantastic selection of reasonably-priced and uncommon beers on tap. Currently the Rogue Yellow Snow IPA and the Bell's Winter White Ale are tasty seasonals. read more

WOW!! And by wow i mean holy crap. There are a ton of pizza places in cincinnati that have grown pretty large. Dewey's however leads the Cincinnati pizza industry haha. The crust is incredibly soft and you could swallow each piece without even chewing (I wouldn't suggest it). If you want some amazing pizza at a great location go try DEWEYS!! read more
