We met family in Columbus for breakfast this weekend. No reservations required but recommended if you have a large party (20+). This place is super cute and inviting with very good service. The staff are friendly and kept the coffee and water refills coming . I regrettably forgot to take pics of the food, I was so hungry! But I will next time because there definitely would be one! The value for your money is great here. I got a huge breakfast with tasty sausage? Nice thick bacon and perfectly cooked eggs and French toast. This place is conveniently located in downtown Columbus within walking of historic buildings and shops.

Strawberry Pie

We love to come to the Dewberry cafe! We always get breakfast and pie usually! Their strawberry pie is AMAZING! Service is usually fine, nothing spectacular but it's fine. It gives off diner vibes, nothing fancy but good food!

We stopped in for breakfast. They serve breakfast all day and lunch but note their hours, they close at 2 pm. The food was simple and delicious, just what we needed. The service was great and my coffee was kept full and hot. Will come back for lunch!

We just enjoyed breakfast at the newly renovated Dewberry Cafe (formerly Beckey's Cafe). The updated decor is clean and modern, and the staff seem energized by the changes. The "vaquero" breakfast was a hit, especially the fresh pico, and corn tortillas.

Special of the day: Chicken Fried steak, Mashed potatoes, sautéed cabbage and cream corn and a roll!

The open and tidy environment had plenty of seats, perfect for sipping coffee and enjoying our breakfast sandwich. While the coffee arrived promptly, we had to wait a bit for our egg and cheese biscuit, which I didn't mind at all because it gave me a chance to check out all the decorations. The customer service was neither rude nor friendly. There was no warm greeting, just a straightforward, "What can I get you?" The egg and cheese biscuit was quite good. It wasn't too heavy or doughy and it was a good size for its price. The coffee was a solid caffeine boost but nothing extraordinary. Besides the fun decor, what really made this place special was the price of an espresso shot - it's just .80 cents! I don't think you'll find anything like that anywhere else these days!

Upon walking in we were happy to see the inside was plenty large and smelled really good at breakfast time. Service was super attentive and the baristas were super helpful in helping us decide what to order. They made recommendations on iced speciality coffees before we ordered. I took them up on their recs and we got the Nutty Jerry which was a sweet but delicious hazelnut iced coffee. We also got the County Jail which was the perfect sweetness of sweet cream mixed with their house cold brew. Wooowee they were delicious and sweeeeet! We really enjoyed the coffee blends they use that are made in-house. This is real good coffee, y'all! I browsed the bagged coffee they had displayed and decided to bring home a 12oz bag of Saddle Bronc that lasted me a solid month of morning drinking at home. This is a medium roast and very impressionable for my palette. There is plenty of room here to read, get some work done, and catch up with friends and family here. The decor and seating areas were very welcoming. Thanks for the delicious coffee while we were visiting Columbus and for having such a great selection of bagged coffee (and Kcups!) to select to bring back home.

My partner and I stopped in for a quick drink, and the whole visit felt easy in the best way. I ordered a coffee and a glass of their house white. The service was quick, friendly, and relaxed; the kind of pace that makes you feel like the place actually wants you to stay a minute. The coffee was the standout. It came out hot, aromatic, and with that little lift you get when the beans are fresh and the barista actually pays attention. The flavor leaned smooth with a light roast profile -- not burnt, not bitter, just clean. It had that soft acidity that wakes you up without punching you in the throat, and the finish was mellow enough that you don't need to drown it in cream or sugar. You could tell they're using decent beans and keeping their equipment in good shape, because the cup tasted intentional, not like something pulled from a tired machine. The house white was simple and easy. It was crisp, a little citrusy, nothing complicated, but perfect for a quick happy‑hour sip. It paired nicely with the vibe: calm, cozy, and unpretentious. Lucy's is one of those spots where you can start your day with a good coffee or end it with a glass of wine, and both feel right. Charming space, quick service, and drinks that actually taste cared for. I'd come back to try the pastries or a charcuterie board, but honestly the coffee alone made the stop worth it. #supportlocal

Hubby ordered scrambled eggs, bacon and 1 hot cake. Warning, they are large. He also enjoyed a cappuccino. Cute restaurant with exceptional customer service. I found this spot on Yelp and was super pleased with the service, the selection, the strong WiFi, the decor, and the overall vibes here that was super welcoming. Parking was easy off the street and there was plenty of other storefronts to wander & window shop as I made my way to Tillie's. This whole area is great so anywhere you park is going to be close. For my coffee I really enjoyed the iced Golden Ticket coffee I got that included a caramel and a hazelnut flavor with a nice house made cream added to the top. It was so tasty! For food it was hard to choose. Everything from "brekkie", or breakfast, to lunch looked so good as listed on their menu. I ended up with one of their "Handhelds" of the Besto Pesto that included sliced turkey, homemade pesto (nut-free too!), mayo, and some delicious house made pickles. This sando came with a side of house made chips as well and was the portion for my lunch. Since I was driving back to Austin (an hour+ away) I decided to get through all of what was on my plate and not take any leftovers home but I could've!!! I really loved their decor and the long large and beautiful wooden community table they had near the back of the cafe. I saw a whole group of women (more than 6 of them!) gathered around, chatting, and having tea. I assumed they were locals because like them, I would be hanging out here all day with my laptop and/or friends all day if I could. Highly recommend coming in and checking out what you can find to have while here. From coffees, breakfast, lunch, and even refreshing tasty sparkling drinks you will find something you want to have and probably keep coming back for in the future. When I am in the area again, this will definitely be part of my plans in stopping into and eating at again.

My husband and I both ordered latte. They were double shots, he got whole milk and I got oat milk. Each "latte" was about 4oz including the shots and milk. The flavor of coffee was extremely mild. I give it a 2-star though, because the coffee is way overpriced for what you get and there's a lack of attention. We talked with the gal at the counter about recommendations, and said we don't like syrups because they are too sweet. My husband ordered a cold brew and I ordered a large cappucino. What did we get? He took a sip of the cold brew and was shocked at how sweet it was, and she said "Isn't it good? We make it with a syrup." And my "large" cappucino was a teeny tea cup. Our 2 pastries and 2 coffees came to $22; I know the pastries were $4 each (and delicious), so the coffees were $14?! We like to support small local businesses, but that's just unrealistic pricing.

I brought my wife to Bellville for her birthday weekend - it's got a beautiful town square with…read moreshops and dining right up her alley. Our first stop ended up being fortuitous - The Gathery. We arrived during the tail end of lunch, but were welcomed in with open arms. Andrea, our waitress, was personable and a wonder to talk with. Ask her for her recommendations - my wife did and she ended up getting something off the menu, a Texas Bowl with their fresh salmon as the protein. It was cooked to perfection and had all the right ingredients. I tried the steak sandwich and was not disappointed. The steak was tender and the garlic aioli might be the best I've ever had. Don't sleep on the fries either, cooked in beef tallow bringing out a wonderful flavor. The cocktails we got, French 75 for my wife and a Moscow Mule for me, were mixed perfectly with a great balance. Come here for the food and stay for the conversation. The entire staff was a pleasure to interact with. If you're from the big city, this is exactly what you're missing. You'll want to be a part of this wonderful town after visiting. Donna, the owner, is included in that. She shared her story while brewing us our tasty coffees before we went on our way. If you're driving through or staying for the weekend, put The Gathery on your itinerary. Don't miss out! We can't wait to go back. Thanks y'all!

We visited The Gathery for breakfast on Saturday, August 1, and unfortunately had a very…read moredisappointing experience. Lauren was our server. At first, I thought she was the only server working, so I was patient. However, I soon noticed there were other servers on the floor. It still took over 20 minutes before she came to take our order. We ordered the Farmhouse breakfast with biscuits and sausage, a kids' Farmhouse with pancakes, and breakfast tacos. Nearly 45 minutes passed before our food arrived. During that time, my coffee never came, and no one checked on our table. When the food finally arrived, my order was wrong. I received toast instead of biscuits and bacon instead of sausage. Lauren apologized and said she would bring the correct items, but they didn't arrive until we had already finished eating. To make matters worse, when I asked to speak with the manager, no manager could be found. I understand that restaurants can get busy, and I'm usually very patient. What was most frustrating wasn't just the wait, but the lack of communication, urgency, and basic customer service throughout the meal. It's unfortunate because The Gathery is a small business that I'd like to support, but experiences like this make it difficult to return. Based on this visit, I won't be coming back, and I can't recommend it to others. I hope management addresses these issues because the food has potential, but the service fell far short.
