Plus at the end it wasn't slow at all but pretty average paced if you ask me. My friend ordered the artisan fruit and cheese board to share and it was really good. We especially liked the contrast of the honey mustard and zing sauce.. I got Will's Mountain Club on grilled sourdough and its as on point...tons of flavor, just the right combination of meats and sauces and really crisp delicious bread. Service was outstanding, like really attentive and good, super friendly, very accommodating. Couldn't have been any better. One of the biggest things I loved about this place was their support of local artists. They had local fine art for sale everywhere around the restaurant. I was on a motorcycle otherwise I'd have taken several prints home but I had nowhere to put it. I did copy the artists names down and placed a couple orders when I got home. They also had things like sourdough chocolate chunk cookies for sale packaged inside. I bought one to eat later, never had a sourdough cookie before and it was great! They have a garden outside that's fun to walk through and I'm assuming they get some herbs from it for their meals. Good sized parking lot and easy to get in and out of and if you're on a bike you can park on the concrete by the building instead of the gravel. I will definitely return next time I'm in the area. Rode all the way up from Cumberland where we were staying and I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

They have brunch, and dinner. They change up the menu for each season. You can tell that this is fresh. They also sell lots of local things. It's a mini shopping experience within the restaurant. It's awesome. Lots of tasty things for sale that are baked on premise in the house behind the restaurant. They make their own sourdough breads, buns, cookies, brownies, crumb cake, etc. Don't leave without one of these terrific treats. We got the gluten free granola and the sourdough crumb cake. Highly recommend both!!!! Service was awesome. Great servers who are very friendly and helpful. Also very attentive. A terrific customer service team. We ordered burgers. One with mushrooms and spinach dip and the other with caramelized onions and beer cheese. These burgers are from local farmers and the buns are made on premise. I cannot recommend the burgers enough! Just absolutely WOW!! Even if you have to order one for the table and cut it into pieces to just taste it - do it! We had the creamy coleslaw, seasoned potato wedges and both ordered the roasted balsamic beets. You can tell all sides are homemade. But, if you are a beet lover do not leave without trying these beets. They will be talked about forever. Just amazeballs. We didn't have room for their homemade desserts which was a bummer (there's a case so you can see the drool worthy creations). These too are made on the premises. If you are anywhere within a two (I would say 4 or unlimited) hour drive do yourself a favor and go experience some truly amazing cooking talent at this wonderful place. Dreamy.

I ordered the French dip which was amazing (beef sandwich with Au Jus dip). Trust me- get this! The surf and turf burger was alright- though we may be tough critics because we are from Maryland and love our lump crab cakes! The crab cake was a little extra fishy tasting but the burger and fries were good! Oreo cake was delicious and the Eggnog Martini was spectacular! We also tried the Hot Apple cider cocktail with spiced rum which was yum. Sadly women's bathroom soap dispenser was not working though. If you're there, check out the gift shop. I would come here again on our next roadtrip up north!

I had lobster ravioli and the oatmeal pie, which were delicious. They also have a little gift shop next to the tavern, which has some very nice gifts and decor for purchase. I purchased a couple Christmas ornaments. The gift shop building also has a big fireplace so it is very warm and cozy in there too!

TL;DR: Amazing food and milkshakes!…read more Market Burger is our guilty pleasure. We've even joked about moving to Purcellville just to be closer to it. Whether it's a first date or your fiftieth, this spot always hits the mark. Food (5/5): My go-to order is a double patty burger ($12) (single patty burger is $10), loaded with herb mayo, American cheese, pickles, tomatoes, lettuce, and a fried egg (+$1), plus a full order of fries. The burger is juicy, flavorful, and totally satisfying. If you're dining with someone, go for the full order of fries ($8). If you're solo, the half order is perfect. The food comes out on a big circular tray with your burgers and fries spread out. Messy and delicious! They also serve fantastic milkshakes in vanilla, chocolate, or coffee ($9). You can add Snickers, Oreos, or Heath bars for $1. The coffee shake is my personal favorite, and it's made with real coffee! Their fries are on another level. Sometimes they have weird fries specials that are a must-try! They used to have it all the time, now it's a rare surprise. Service (5/5): Service is quick and friendly. On the rare occasion they get your order wrong, they fix it right away. Ambiance (5/5): It's a fast-casual spot tucked into historic downtown Purcellville. You order at the counter, give your name, and grab a table. Sometimes they bring the food out to your table, sometimes you pick it up. Inside, the walls are lined with historic photos of the town. There are about six tables indoor and a picnic table outside on the corner. Free public parking is available just across the street.

I ordered a double bacon cheeseburger with pickles. I also ordered the regular fries and a vanilla shake. The fries were very good, a bit on the saltier side, but balanced out with the rest of the meal. The shake was good, but I did not think it was over-the-top incredible. I thought the burger was a good value. The fries were too based on how much you get, but the full portion size was so huge that you cannot finish it yourself. It is best split amongst 2 or 3. Apparently there are half sizes, but it is not advertised on the hand paper menu, so I did not know it was an option. The overall price of the meal gets to be a lot if you factor in burger, fries, shake. If I were to come back, I would would do just the burger and a half order of fries, and skip the rest.
