They came out and measured the kitchen to make sure the measurements we gave them were correct as well, which we really appreciated. After 15 yrs, it's time to re-do the flooring in the kitchen once more, and we will be returning to Christoff and Sons Floor Covering. I really like going to "small" hometown businesses !!! We were treated like family. I am looking forward to returning to Christoff & Sons once again. It's great to see that Jackson MI still continues to have a few privately owned "mom" & "pop" businesses, ones that we can get that "special " treatement from, instead of being made to feel as though we are just "another " customer looking for a "deal". My salesperson, Stephanie, told me I needed to pay for the carpet upfront before it could be ordered. I brought in a check for $3,660, as they offered no credit card or electronic payment options. By that point, my installation date had already been pushed back because Tom forgot to measure one of the bedrooms and had to return. Then, after business hours on a Friday, Stephanie sent an email to my work email at 5:11 PM informing me they didn't actually have the carpet and would not be meeting the agreed-upon installation date. No phone call. No text. Just an email. I called first thing Monday morning and requested a refund because I had made my timeline clear from the beginning and had no flexibility left. Stephanie flatly refused to return my money and told me it wasn't possible to speak with an owner or manager. Since they wouldn't refund my payment, I reluctantly agreed to another installation date. Things only got worse. Christoff's sent out their "premier" installation crew (one person) to begin the project, assuring me the carpet was definitely on the way this time. The installer put down tack strips and padding, then attempted to install the completely wrong carpet. I ordered a tan carpet, and they showed up with a white Berber carpet. To this day, I have still not had a direct conversation with either owner, Ted or Tom. Ted will send text messages and Facebook messages but refuses to actually get on the phone and discuss the situation. To make matters even more uncomfortable, Tom spoke negatively about his own employees. Specifically referring to the "girls in the office" Poor communication, missed deadlines, incorrect materials, and a complete lack of accountability. I would not recommend this company.

We recently purchased our forever home and the stairs to the basement were horribly steep and even…read moredangerous. We walked away from this house once because of that, but when the house came back on the market, we knew this was the home for us! We purchased it "eyes wide open" knowing we had to do something with the stairs. We spoke to a lot of knowledgeable people who all said the same thing. This would be a challenging job because the stairs would have to be demolished and rebuilt, but we still only had the space that was there to get the correct rise and tread sizes, which would impact the head space at the bottom. In other words, a tall person would have to duck...and this would never do! I had three carpenters look at my stairs. The first carpenter shook his head and said he had no clue where to start. The second carpenter was Brian from B&C, who I found through an online search and was blown away by their great reviews and the pictures of their amazing work! Brian immediately started calculating available space, and thinking outside the box. His knowledge and transparency inspired me to have great confidence in him and his price was super reasonable! The third carpenter came across as this being not a great challenge, which I knew better, and proceeded to give me a price that was nearly double of Brian's. So, our choice was clear. Brian had pre construction meetings with us to keep us apprised of his plans, as well as meetings during the construction. After calculating and brainstorming with his crew, he said he could reframe the ceiling at the bottom to give more head space. He also discussed cutting into and reframing the top landing to get additional space. Brian kept us informed each step of the way and his craftsmanship was impressive. We started the work on November 1, with our only deadline being completed before Thanksgiving. Brian completed our work in about 10 days! While I did post a couple of finished photos, B&C's websites will have good before and after pictures. I wholeheartedly recommend B&C for any carpentry job. You will get honesty, integrity, transparency, great communication, fair pricing and old fashioned craftsmanship!

I had a ceiling fan that I needed installed, and they did that as well. Their work was flawless as I had about a 4x8 foot hole in my kitchen ceiling that you can't even tell was there now. They fixed another area in my stairwell from a different water leak and again, results were perfect.
