It was recommended by my neurosurgeon and primary MD that I be admitted to a care facility post 3 level laminectomy. I was brought directly here from Temecula Valley Hospital. I am very impressed with this facility. I have noted that all of the employees appear to work as a team. The physical therapist are very committed to their patients. On day 5 here I was able to walk using a front wheel walker approximately 15 steps! Prior to surgery on 8/3/23, I made one attempt to walk and it was a struggle Obviously the surgery was a success and I am very happy to be receiving my post op care at this facility. A terrifying experience! People screaming for help. Put in a dark room in the middle of the night. Women finally came in with flashlights to talk to me. I was ambulanced from Temecula and had no family with me. They could hear the screaming over the phone and told me to call the police. They arrived with an ambulance to take me safely to Hemet hospital while waiting for my insurance to get me to another facility. San Jacinto Valley was great but I wish I was at one of the ones closer to Temecula. DONT GO THERE !!!!! Btw I have United Health Care and Medicare. read more

Don't not let ur family member go here. My husband was here for PT. He was there for 21 days. Ended up back at the ER. diagnosed with mersa, ecoli, pneumonia in both lungs and bed sores on his bottom and both heels. Cna tried to say he was sitting up and eating 85% of food. But I was there everyday 3 and 4 times a day. I knew he wasn't sitting up or eating. So I complained and req cnas to show me since they write everything down and then all of a sudden they said they made a mistake when writing it down. I had him transferred to the ER bcuz he wasn't Doing good at all. Turns out he was suffering from pneumonia in both lungs, mersa, and ecoli. All from Devonshire. Please people find somewhere else for ur love ones. I wish I could only give them a 0. They say they are the patients advocate. But in reality they only want the money. read more

The place is pretty run down, paint peeling off the walls and it smells awful. I think this place is more like an insane asylum than anything else. Most patients in there seem to suffer from some mental illness so there's almost always people being disruptive and loud. It's a pretty uncomfortable environment if you're sane and just trying to recover with all of the odd behavior going on around you. The staff were friendly but they could definitely use some more help. There's 3 patients to a room in some cases with 1 TV and so one person controls the TV and it's on all night blaring and you can't get any sleep. As far as rehabilitation therapy, there wasn't a whole lot of time spent working with a patient to get up and around. The food could definitely be better. Overall a pretty depressing experience. BEWARE- AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! If I could give zero stars, this place would be getting a big fat ZERO. Shame on every person that works or worked here knowing the patients were being abused. My sister in law was horribly neglected and abused here, DIED, and this place refused to send records for months via ignoring the requests. Found out last week from the attorney they are filing bankruptcy because they're being sued by so many people for lack of proper care, leaving patients in soiled diapers for hours, not feeding patients and when they do finally feed them the food is ice cold, not giving them their medications, and more. Stay far away from this place and make sure you research the heck out of any place you do use before signing anything. They're so far from compassionate that the nurse on duty told my brother they were not allowed to call 911 for patients when he showed up as his wife was actively dying and he had to call himself. The 911 operator was horrified. This place is a house of HORRORS and the dirty Dr that owns it also owns part of Hemet Hospital. Go figure, easier to cover your tracks when you're abusing patients to the point of death that way. A family member is here as we can no longer care for them due to dementia. We have found everyone to be very helpful and kind. The facility is a little older, but someone is always cleaning, and rooms are being renovated. The business office went above and beyond to help with the insurance issues, we can't thank them enough. We have been very happy with the care so far, we can definitely recommend this facility. read more

This was one of worst places I have ever seen in regards to elderly care. My mother in law was place there after having a stroke. I was mortified when I arrive with her. The rooms were run down, the furniture was old and broken. There were dead bugs in her night stand, and the boarder around the room were held together with red duck tape! I wanted to put her in the car and take her home immediately! Unfortunately, we had no choice because we could not care for her. My husband complained to the administration. The last straw was when they found bed bugs and the had to move the residence in the hallways to fumigate and paint! Just when u think things are improving at this facility they show their true colors of neglect and non existent management of their employees. I came to see my mother for a bit and noticed she needed a change. I looked for her cna for nearly an hour. No where to be found. I ended up having to ask another cna for help and they did so begrudgingly. As I was leaving the facility lo and behold there is my mother's cna fighting in the parking lot with her boyfriend screaming at the top of his lungs for the whole neighborhood to hear. This place has no control over their employees. They hide from and ignore their patients ! My mother wasn't the only person who needed assistance , I saw several lights on and many people were yelling helplessly. Only to be ignored . I heard several cnas say " that's not my run" and walk away . I'm not sure how long these other patients were waiting for her to finish fighting before they got assistance , I left after an hour and she was still outside. Please please get a handle on your negligent staff!!!! The place looks like a drama high school now . Maybe hire some people with experience and some sense of decency! This was so unprofessional. I would have fired her on the spot. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemies and am currently looking for a new facility for my mother. read more

I would give them -1k if I could. It was very traumatic being in this place. They were short CNAs every single day. The CNAs were rude and mean due to over work. They were out of gloves, diapers, tissue I mean they gave one pack of wipes to each CNA for all their patients. When we should have all had our own. They used rough wash clothes to wipe us. Then didn't even get us properly clean. There are 2 rooms sharing a bathroom that's 6 people! The worst was our room was connected to a room with 3 men. My roommate and I were so upset we had to share with men. They lied and said they were not able to use it. But we kept catching them in there. So gross and I'm sure not legal. They should not have been in there. It should have been women on both sides!!!!! They were short nurses. One nurse Gabby took s dislike to me and refused to give me my meds. Another nurse had to be called. It's not her job to like us but to get us pain meds etc when needed. The food is horrific no fresh fruits or veggies. Everything was processed. The portions were so small my roommate kept asking for more. If they got your meal wrong forget eating. The CNAs would come back and say the kitchen was closed. They never had any snacks because everyone was hungry and ate them all. I was served a grilled cheese sandwich with water for dinner. Unacceptable in everyway. We would hit our call buttons and wait 45 min for help. I was stuck in the bathroom 20 min sitting there with Sciatica ready to fall on the floor. Then told to wait they would BRB in 10 min are you serious. The very worst was when the iv antibiotics I was on was making me so sick I thought I would die. My head felt like I was going to have a stroke. This same nurse Gabby would NOT call 911 for me. I started asking at 12 noon. She said I was having an anxiety attack to breathe. I kept begging till 6pm. I called 911 myself and was told thst the facility had to call they owned me while I was there. That is how people die!!!!!! I was made to wait 6 hours. I don't know if they get marks against them if we go to the hospital. But this woman would not let me go and said they could take care of me there. In fact everyone that worked there that I begged to call 911 refused me. They need to be shut down I'm still having nightmares and trama from my stay there. The rooms are hardly cleaned and the bathrooms are dirty. There was shit on the rails on the wall. I pray for every person who is stuck in that place for their safety. They talk a lot of promises and change. But it's the worst example of a "skilled nursing" I have ever seen. It's a medical don't spend any money piece of crap that needs to be condemned. I had a very bad cold there too. I asked for tea with honey and lemon. They had to go out and buy both. No lemon juice or honey packets. There is one thing only they have going for them. The OT and PT is excellent. They need to be moved to a respectable facility not this joke of a hell hole!!!!! If you value and love your family don't let them near this place!!!! read more

When my loved one was sent to the hospital we had the tough choice of finding a good care facility. My family member needed some physical therapy/occupational therapy and IVs. I am happy with the care they received while at the facility and the staff was friendly. The quality of care was amazing and the team is good. Putting your love one in a skill nursing facility is not an easy decision to make. My aunt has always lived with us at home. But after her fall she needed therapy to build her strength back up so we decided on Devonshire Care Center. She was there about 3 weeks and discharge back home to us. Overall one star. There are several employees that deserve 10 star reviews and we shall get to that. Take a minute to think. A new patient comes in from the hospital, new issues that prior to hospital non existent. Prior to hospital patient was able to walk and use restroom on their own. Fast forward to three weeks later patient can not walk nor use restroom facilities. They are now told they have to use a diaper. Think about how humiliating and dehumanizing that is for the patient?!?! That is where compassion and empathy from people in the nursing community comes to play. You want to hire employees that show these qualities. Why a one star overall ... Management is why, you take a concern about an employee who is very unfit for the job and nothing changes, except now he gets his three buddy's to intimidate a patient. Tell me why this employee was allowed to throw, kick and cuss because he had to DO HIS JOB? A patient asked for a bed pan five time in the course of three hours and when said patient HAD to go he threw a cup kicked it and cursed. Patient made a complaint and literally nothing was done. Next day his buddies, now are intimidating same patient. One of these employees let this patient sit in a dirty diaper for five hours. Patient was able to flag down another CNA and was able to be changed, where was the missing CNA ? In an empty patient room with the TV on and sleeping... oh no he didn't lose his job !! He is still there. You know why ? One of the female charge night nurses is buddies with the three male CNA's. She stands up for them. No patient should ever feel like they are being watch, intimidated or threatened. Patient not able to sleep at night being afraid of what might happen. That's how bad it was. Oh and said charge night nurse cutting a patient off of liquids at night so her "boys" don't have to change a diaper over night is inhumane and unacceptable. Especially if patient had kidney issues. Horrifying ordeals that transpire and allowed to happen. When multiple patients have the same issues with the same employees that is when it is no longer and employee issue and a management issue. Severely understaffed!! The food is no where near healthy!! Forget about being low sodium or low carb. Food was only good on Sunday's when it was the busiest "family" visit day!! Coincidence? I think not. Patient care for follow ups after a hospital stays are null and void! Absolutely worst case scenario. You will not see a doctor after a major hospitalization that needs follow by specialists. They will come to their own conclusions they will follow the last medical records from the hospital and most of that stuff has resolved. They will give you miss diagnosis information and incorrect medication. Don't tell a patient they have a diagnosis from reading an intake description! It was untrue. Now on a positive side , PT here is 100% amazing. The best PT staff ever. Hands down the one positive thing about this facility. Both female PT's are outstanding. There are several LVN's that went above and beyond. Three CNA's that are probably the only reason this patient was able to have any kind of peace. Rosario, Chad and Connie are 10 star employees. Forgive for not remembering her name but there was another young female CNA that was very sweet and even cried when this patient told her about some of the issues. That's real compassion! I personally want to thank Rosario and Connie for all they did, they are the definition of true compassionate humans. read more

They were the only shining stars in this facility. The social worker is very unethical, not an advocate for her patients and in my opinion in the wrong line of work. I could continue with the laundry list but there's not enough space here. I would never put a loved one here. read more

Very pleasant staff. They work very hard to ensure my family members are well taken care of. The case manager, Veronica has helped so much with all of my family members needs. She communicates quite well, and checks for all avenues of care to help them. I have been quite pleased with her professionalism and ability to find answers for even the toughest problems. This place doesn't care about its patients, they don't want to help find them aftercare help. They place a dollar amount on a bed and threaten you if you don't pick up your family that they will report you to APS Jennifer has no business being a case worker. All her and her cohorts are good at is taking money. And don't even get me started on Genesis. They are the top of this pyramid that only cares about money. Not one person could help for a place for our family member to live in after the waste of a week she spent at this place. They didn't even give her the right meds while she was there! I would not place a loved one here ever again! Especially, if your loved one is mentally incapacitated in any way and unable to speak up for themself. Most of the CNA's are very helpful however not all. Some need better training and support when using medical equipment. Not sure why employees are allowed personal devices while working? Management lacks in all ways, supporting staff lacks in all ways and does not have the best interest of their patients. They are dishonest and seem to cover for one anothers short comings. The place is filthy, however currently under renovations. There are patients crying out all hours of the day and night and being ignored. This disturbs the mental and physical health of other patients. My family member was worse off when finally leaving the facility due to poor care. read more

I suffered a fungal lung infection. I was intubated for two weeks, and had a heart attack while intubated, as well as sepsis. Amazingly I survived, but was left incredibly weak and in need of constant oxygen. I was expected to stay at the care center for up to two months. I stayed for one week, and that was longer than I wanted. My copay was $100 per day. I only received two PT sessions, and was left to lay in bed the rest of the time. Here are some of the examples of what occurred in this nightmare: In the middle of the night my oxygen machine stopped working. My oxygen was dropping into the mid 80's. It took the nurse a half hour to come. When she got there she couldn't get it going. She then left me with no oxygen for four hours until her shift ended. I was placed in a room with a 380 lb man clad only in an adult diaper. This man was clearly delirious as he continuously shouted vulgarities at nurses that weren't there, as well as physically threatening me. I couldn't sleep. I asked to be moved, and every time I was ignored. On the fourth night I managed to wheel myself out of the room and slept in the hallway. A nurse asked why I was sleeping there and then moved me to another room, telling me that I wasn't supposed to be there. The center seemed filled with insane people. Every night I heard people screaming for help and to be let out. Several times people drifted into my room. One woman wheeled herself in then sat there staring at me. It was extremely uncomfortable and nightmarish. For a time I questioned my own sanity. I asked the nurses to help me get to the bathroom the day after I arrived. I was only offered a diaper or a bedpan. After three weeks in the hospital I was looking forward to the dignity of using a restroom. Eventually I forced myself out of the bed and into a wheelchair. The first time didn't go so well. Things improved after that. I didn't receive any bathing at the hospital. When I arrived at the care center I was filthy and my hair was badly knotted. They only allow one shower per week. I got mine on the fifth night. The male nurse that gave me the shower was angry that someone else was supposed to do it. He was very rough. When we got to the shower I sprayed the water over myself. It felt amazing. However, the nurse had no time for that. He ripped the nozzle out of my hand and sprayed me in the face with it. I didn't have the strength to fight back. I told him to just take me back to my room, and I'll shower when I got home. He ignored me and continued to wash me like a used car. They lost my clothes and my DENTURES. Even though the dentures were clearly listed with my belongings when I arrived, they refused to reimburse me for them. When they demanded the $600 that I owed them for my stay, I told them that I will pay them when they take care of my dentures. They never called again. My stay at the care center will always remain as a nightmare in my memory. Once I got home my recuperation accelerated. My stay was filled with insane people, inattentive, and sometimes abusive, staff, crappy food, filth, and boredom. If you are insane and don't know where you are, you will feel at home there. Otherwise, I would recommend staying away from this dump. read more

My dad was sent here after being transferred around from two different hospitals because he had a major surgery on his back to help relieve some pain in his spine that came from some cancer destroying his vertebrae. He had to learn to walk again, and the employees that worked there helped him pretty well with his physical therapy, so I gave it an extra star. The reason why I wanted to give no stars is because the case manager would not respond to any of my calls and would dodge them when I did call her for about a week. I called around 8AM, they said she would be in at 9AM, I called at 10AM to give her some time, they said she was in a meeting. I called a little after 3PM, and they said she went home already. Another day I called and they said she was on another call, and I held for about 10 minutes. Always, they want to transfer you to her voicemail, but I left two, and asked the receptionist to leave her a physical note, but she still didn't call me back about my father's care after a week. When she called me back she told me that his doctor wanted to keep him there past what his insurance would cover fully because he had an appointment setup with the oncologist. I called his doctor that same day and they told me his appointment was the next day instead of the week in advance that she had told me. My dad wanted to leave, and the doctor said it was okay, so he put in a discharge order and I picked him up that day. I feel like communication is very important because we can't go into these buildings in person due to COVID-19, and the case manager Juliana did not make the experience very good for us. When I picked up my dad, I could see a couple of them turn around and look through the window of their office and laugh at us, so maybe they found the whole situation funny that they avoided giving me any information about my dad. Very unprofessional. We are glad he is home, so we can both be involved in the time he has left. read more

My mom arrived there on Wednesday at 7;30 at night. Got to see her Thursday for a bit. Went back on Friday 24th. Of June ; now they have a COVID LOCK DOWN from an employee. I have tried calling my mom on 3 separate occasions and they will NOT let me talk to her. I asked who there supervisor was ..... and she hung up on me. Will be dealing more with this on Monday !
