Great place to live with a huge pool. Parking is never an issue and it close to the highway and super close to a great mall.

Definitely a hidden gem in Holyoke. These are nice condos up on the side of Mt. Tom. You won't…read morefind them unless you go looking for them. I lived there for a couple of years and found them to be very reasonably priced. They were all quite spacious (even the 1 bedroom) due to nice, open floor plans and my apartment had a nice gardening area right outside the back door. You can go hiking and running all over Mt Tom from here which is nice too. Crime was absolutely not a problem. I noticed that the police patrolled very regularly which was nice and I never had nor heard of anyone having any problems. The walls are pretty thick in this quiet complex and I rarely heard anything from my neighbors even when they had a party. They only trouble we ever heard of was reports of bobcats and bears occasionally coming around. Not a total surprise since these are totally in the woods. Also, our electric bills were pretty low due to the good insulation and Holyoke's low utility prices compared to the neighboring towns. Overall, a peaceful reasonably priced place where you are close to nature, but have good access to the highway and Northampton.

I had a very bad experience with with Castle Hill Apartment. First of all to be honest l will talk…read moreabout the advantages which are: -Nice location -Nice neighborhood The disadvantages: -No privacy at all, you will feel that you are living with your neighbor and the opposite because the walls are very thin and you will hear noise if you walk because the floors were not well done and making a loud noise -Utilities especially the heat is around 140$/month in winter and AC around the same amount in summer -The landlord is very difficult to deal with. I had a small fire in the kitchen which damaged the stove keys and caused a small damage to the bottom of one cabinet and he charged me 4465.90$. -The car insurance is very high because the area is categorized as high risk area. -If you have environmental allergy i do not advice you to rent there because of the bad quality carpet and the old heat and AC ducts although i hired a company to clean the ducts but i continued to suffer.

Ames used to be a nice place to live. When I first moved in, I had to provide 3 letters of…read morerecommendation to even be considered. If any resident was ever caught disrespecting the building or other residents, they would promptly be removed. It was expensive, but It felt safe and secure and everyone was proud to be a resident. It was clean and neat and worth the money Issues started about 2 years ago when the property was sold and put under new management. The office staff seemed to stop caring about the way the residents acted or treated the building. Residents started leaving piles of dog poop and puke in the hallways and elevators (dogs aren't allowed), as well as cigarette ashes and butts, loogies, and any other messes they made. The washing machines and dryers rarely work (and they're expensive). The residents let their children run and scream up and down the halls. And they have loud fights with each other. I've reported my neighbor for domestic violence multiple times (which I got on camera) and nothing was done about it, even though my S.O. And I were required to sign anti-domestic violence paperwork to move in. The residents carve obscene messages and words on the inside of the elevators and pretty much anywhere else they can get their hands on. Myself as well as a few friends have had our cars keyed and broken into on multiple occasions. We were promised a secure parking lot and now it's anything but. I am afraid to walk from my car to my apartment alone at night. When we asked about the security cameras in the parking lot, we were told that they're fake and the only reason they'd ever put in real cameras would be for the safety of the building and not the safety of the residents or their belongings. On top of all of that, prices steadily increase on the apartments as the building and residents go downhill. Instead of spending money to install real cameras and working washing machines and dryers, they would rather put in new floors and furnish the lobby to create the illusion that this is a nice place. It's not. Don't be fooled. If you want to pay $1200 a month to feel unsafe, listen to children and fighting couples screaming at the top of their lungs, watch people take drug naps in the lobby and laundry rooms, and pay $50 trying to properly do laundry with a less than helpful office staff, be my guest. If not, I'd recommend finding somewhere different to reside.
