First off this is just strictly my view nothing personal…read more I was a little sad to experience the discrimination i did with one of my buddies visiting for a quick bite. i have no idea what we did wrong to receive such treatment from your waiter (short white male with glasses) he absolutely did not want to attend us and literally walked around the room asking everyone about the food and ambiance except us, they made us wait until the end, our food showed up after everyone else got served, our drinks didn't come until we were done eating, the whole vibe was just uncomfortable to the point it felt like we were not welcomed, i feel bad for the lady who was serving us they had here running everywhere and i sensed the discomfort from her as well, almost like she knew that we knew what was going on. The food was whatever nothing special just noticed the huge portions and really messy. Sorry i was born with brown skin, maybe talk to your workers about not being intimidated by someone who is not white. First we asked where the closest restroom since the shop didn't have one and was helped quite rudely. Secondly, when we ordered our coffee, we noticed the more experienced staff member did not make our coffee and instead made coffee for people who came in AFTER we ordered. The people who ordered after us got multiple drinks done for them before they even started to make our coffee. I'm not sure if we were treated poorly and weren't prioritized since we were from out of town, but something to note if you're considering visiting.

She had a bubbly personality and was also helpful by providing some other customers with local info. If you're a local yourself, you probably already know about this gem. Lodging- 2 stars. We used to stay in the cute cabins until about 3 years ago. Everything on the inside is outdated. It didn't feel clean. The bathroom was mildewed and smelled . I hope they choose to remodel the inside of the cabins because they do look cute from outside. But the inside does leave a lot to be desired. So we no longer stay there, but we eat almost all meals there because they are the bomb. I think management hasn't redone the rooms because there is not a whole lot of selection of where you can stay here and everything fills up very quickly, regardless of the quality because it is a smaller town. And now with the new Madison TV show I'm sure more people will be coming out, and there will be even less places to stay.

The staff deserves credit for being kind and responsive, but the cabins themselves are rough. They're old, musty, and not very well maintained -- both inside and outside. Even though the log style looks charming in photos, in person they smell and feel worn out. Overall: helpful staff, but the accommodations really need updating and better cleaning.
