Please no one use this company. AAA stop using this company as a third party please! They are terrible and their customer service is even worse than terrible! I didn't get a call from them until 1 hr later, they refused to identify themselves as AAA contracted tow company. The person only asked what my location was and when I asked if who this was he said AAA and I responded if you were from AAA you would know my location. He proceeded to be super rude, then hung up on me. Shortly after a lady calls me asking ME why I called her employee being rude?! I was like lady idk you or him and if he's refusing to identify himself then I'm not giving my location. She said she's going to refuse my tow even though I'm stranded with my two children. AAA shame on you too if you continue utilizing them as a third party. read more

Ivan is the man! A flat bed was requested for the tow. AAA hooked us up with Ivan. He arrived faster than the quoted time. He had great geometric jenga skills to put that low car on the tow truck without scraping the body kit and exhaust. (Strategically choose the right size wood platform and placement to angle the car from scraping) It took a while to get the car on and off the bed. He was professional, polite, and patient. Devon's Towing - Very close but didn't scrape! - Towing Near Me - Shafter, California

I am beyond upset by this company. After my friends car started on fire on the freeway 300 miles from home. He was faced with the fact that his car was totaled. He called AAA for removing the remains of his vehicle and Devon's showed up and towed the remaining frame and body of the Subaru. this was in the middle of the night. The next day he rented a car and got home by 9pm. He followed up to pay any storage fees and to release the car and pink slip for salvage To Devon's... Devon's refused to take payment unless he returns in person 300 miles to pay and hand them the pink slip while charging storage fees. He has no car! I called for my friend and got upset, but begged for them to help out in the situation, which they refused. These guys are praying on victims and should not be used by the trusted AAA group! AAA third party, don't waste your time with these people. it took these guys 6hrs to drive from Wasco to Shafter just to tow my Kia in 37 degree weather in the middle of the night. They don't call to say they're on the way nor do they mention how long they'll be taking. Didn't matter if the job is done quickly, zero communication. No one should be stuck on the side of the road like that especially when paying for car insurance!!! Unprofessional. Let me start by saying....AMAZING COMPANY and employee EARL!!! It's guys like Earl that really make a terrible situation tolerable. Earl was fantastic and really deserves not only a raise but a promotion!!! If everyone cared as much for the customer as Earl the world would be a better place. He not only went the extra mile but did it with a smile even with 110 degree weather. Truly a professional and please keep up the great work your doing. Driving south on I-5 last night, October 3, 2011 from the Bay Area, I hit some debris on the road and it literally shredded my front tire. I managed to get to the side of the highway and called AAA, and then spent a very frustrating 30 minutes being shuffled from SoCal AAA operator to one in NorCal AAA and then back to SoCal - as they tried to figure out whose area I'd broken down in. Lucky for me, they ended up deciding I was 2 miles into the SoCal section (and still miles from anywhere!!) It took a bit of time for David from Devon's Towing to reach me (miles from anywhere, I tell you) but from the moment he arrived - he was friendly, reassuring, competent and helpful beyond the call of duty. Changing the tire was relatively easy but he then figured out a way to tie up the engine guard that had come partly way off (rather than taking the easy route of pulling it off and breaking it further.) He also told me that the town of Lost Hills had a tire shop (Gutierrez Tires - also great people) and since I was facing nearly 200 more miles of freeway driving ahead - driving the maximum of 50 mph allowable on a Toyota 'mini spare' seemed dangerous to us both. David offered to show me the way to the tire shop and amazingly they were not only open at 10pm (they offer 24 hr tire service to truckers) but they were then able to replace the shredded tire with another one - and I was able to drive safely the remaining 3 hrs home. Most drivers answering a service call at 9pm would have only changed the tire but David went out of his way to help secure the engine guard and to direct me to the tire shop. His kindness and competence really turned a very unpleasant experience into a lesson about the kindness of strangers. Thank you, David! read more

Memorial Day 2018, on our way home from LA on I-5, which is challenging enough any time of the day. We were about 16 miles north of Buttonwillow when we lost acceleration and the battery and oil light came on. A call to AAA for a tow ensued. We were told a two hour wait, but in less than 30 minutes Marco was there. He asked what had happened. He said that it was likely the alternator, and proceeded to call a mechanic to see if a part was available. Alas, no part, so he towed us to the nearest dealership which was in Bakersfield. On the way he told how long he had been with Devon's, and how much he enjoyed his work. As he dropped the car off at the dealership, we thought his work was done, but he then drove us to the airport so we could procure a rental vehicle, and waited for us to make sure we could get a car. This was truly way above and beyond anything we were expecting for holiday service from a tow company in the middle of the agricultural sector of California. Not sure what Devon's this review is for as of yet. I moved from the tulare area to northern Ca 8 years ago and started my towing business so I know the tips. I was down south on the 5 and my BMW SUV stalled due to a fuel pump issue. The driver that was sent was very polite and professional. He diagnosed the problem very quickly. Mind you I was not going to tell him I owned 7 wreckers in Northern CA. My brother even tried to bribe the young man into towing us further then our service allowed for extra cash. The young man was very polite and refused our attempt to pay under the table. It was more of a test to see how many people are shady. Earle passed the test very honest guy and very professional. ~* 2 flats, just my luck. got picked up by devon's tow truck *~ driving on i-5 north, i accidentally ran over some debris that flattened 2 of my tires (front and rear passenger side). contacted aaa and they dispatched craig from devon's towing. craig towed us 30+ miles to a place that said they had my size tires when i called while waiting. once we arrived, we were told that they didn't have my size tires after all. the man at the tire shop told craig that we should go to a different tire shop another 20+ miles away, which is where craig continued to tow us to. saving you from the sob story in between... in the end, our overall experience with craig from devon's tow was A+! read more

Yet another rescue late at night on the 5. The driver was quick, called to make sure we knew he was on the way so we could relax a bit. He took us to a safe location that we could eat/sleep and wait for help. The driver was safe, kind and compassionate. This is a CHP contracted company that background checks all the drivers. Rolling down I-5 in the heat of the day from Portland headed for Los Angeles is when I lost power. I remember thinking WTF as I dabbed my toe on the gas pedal. With only momentum now, I guided the big girl over to the shoulder, then luckily to the off ramp. Without the motor running it was like trying to roll a beached whale up a hill. She came to a sluggish rest on the side of the Twisselman offramp in Lost Hills Dead in the water is when the first wave of concern came over me. Not so much the loneliness of being broken down in this uninhabited no mans land with no personal provisions on hand. It was more like " cheese, how much is this going to cost now" ? Being a Capricorn, I respond well in an emergency. that in mind , I sprang into gear! Time was of the essence if I didn't want to have my sun bleached bones discovered by prisoners picking up litter on the side of the road. I used my electronic umbilical cord to call AAA and after short wait a nice, clean red Ford flatbed tow truck rolled up smoothly and calmly. As I approached slowly I read "Devon's Towing " lettered across the door. Then the door opened and I was greeted with a cold bottle of water and a fine smile as the driver stepped down out of the truck. He introduced himself as David Acevedo and I liked this guy right off. He carried himself with confidence and a professionalism that came across as reassuring and capable. He worked in an efficient manner with the overall concern with that of safety. He treated both me and my vehicle with respect and a genuine sense costumer service. With his winning personality, positive "can do" attitude and sporty good looks, this man will achieve great things in his life. I sincerely believe David Acevedo makes this world a better place.
